I really like how all the tacos come with plenty of meat and crisp onions. The double corn…read moretortillas are griddled/flash fried which helps them keep their shape and adds some nice flavor. Pastor Taco (5/5): Deliciously marinated meat with lots of flavor. Asada Taco (5/5): Tasty steak. Carnitas Taco (4/5): A little lacking in flavor, and could be a bit crispier. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Per usual, I ordered tacos: *Lengua: stunning here. Cubes of tender lengua with just a bit of crisp on the outside. *Shrimp: a friend recommended it and i was completely NOT expecting this but it was almost fajita style with green peppers and onions topped with cheese! The shrimp was cut into pieces and really really well seasoned so almost like TACOS GOBERNADOR! Pretty unique take. Into it. The mighty human working the entire FOH by herself was so sweet despite how busy it was! FYI - on weekends, they have birria, barbacoa, menudo, pozole!

El Arbol is definitely a cool spot visually, and I really wanted to love it based on all the great…read morereviews. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was much better than the food for us. The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.
