While visiting Michigan, I stopped into Gilley's and ordered a custom breakfast plate because I'm on a special diet. It was so good that I came back twice. I've jokingly started calling it the "El San Diego" breakfast plate. The pork was flavorful, the food was fresh, and everything was cooked perfectly. What really stood out was the service. On my return visit, the owner remembered my order and personally whipped up the same El San Diego breakfast plate for me again. It was just as incredible the second time. Friendly staff, great food, great ambiance, and genuine 5 star hospitality. As a Southern California Mexican food snob, I can honestly say Gilley's exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back a third time before I leave.

On Friday they offered blueberry, but sometimes they have apple and one other variety but I don't remember what that was. The muffins were better than I have ever had, but very rich. Saturday I ordered a chimichanga which was deep fried and so big I could not eat it all and had the rest for dinner. Every day they were so busy, 5 or 6 people were in front of me. Saturday the wait time was a little longer because everyone was ordering chimichangas, which took a little longer to prepare. I suggest calling your order in and you can get right in and pick it up.
