COVID-19's unfortunately put somewhat of a strain on the fast food industry, not just from a labor perspective, but sadly a quality control perspective at times. This Taco Bell is emblematic of both problems, but sadly many more. South Brunswick Township was long begging for a Taco Bell. The nearest Taco Bells were at least a15-20 minute drive, if not more depending on the local traffic. However, an apathetic zoning board denied franchisees the opportunity to build a Taco Bell. It took until 2019 to finally build it. However, the location is one of the worst ones I've ever seen. This location used to be a gas station. Also, the franchisee (who happens to live in the township if you scourge thru public records) must have convinced the zoning board to build the tightest Taco Bell in terms of square footage. Don't be surprised waiting 5-10 mins just to get inside the parking lot. Want to park? Good luck trying to reverse. Want to head onto Route 1 northbound? Good luck making a right turn onto New Road. Such a terribly tight location. Thru COVID-19 and up until recently, the location used to only accept drive-thru orders. Yes, that meant tons of cars in the drive-thru. Clearly, this location doesn't have enough staff working and NOT enough trained staff to handle a large volume of orders that are processed every single day. Simple items like Mexican Pizzas (thank god it's back) take 20-30 minutes. That's just absurd. Then I hear stories of botched orders and it's just sad. I get the labor shortage, but there needs to be WAY better training, teaching, etc. Unfortunately, the franchisee doesn't care because he's minting money. I just can't fathom waiting such a long time just for a basic order of Mexican Pizzas. I may need to venture to a new location. read more

I have never written a review for a restaurant before but here it is: The only thing consistent with this Taco Bell location is the disappointment. I order on the mobile app and pick up through the drive through. On my last visit it took me 30 minutes to get through the drive through line which consisted of only 3 cars in front of me. There is also always at least one item missing from my order. And that's on a good day. If you are vegan/vegetarian, have any allergies, or make ANY customization to your order i advise you to stay far away from this location. If you substitute black beans for beef you will get beef every time. If you asked for no tomatoes there will be extra tomatoes. As a huge Taco Bell fan (i debating having my wedding at the taco bell cantina), it's probably harder than it should be for me to get to the point where i will no longer return. Today was last visit to this Taco Bell. Two previous times we ordered online and waited 20 minutes before picking up. Order wasn't ready and they asked us to wait inside for it! I am a high risk senior and the whole point of ordering in advance to pick up at window is to avoid exposure of going inside. On both occasions we had to wait over another 20 minutes for order. My dream turned into a nightmare but fast. The place has very little seating, the service was awful (average wait when I was there yesterday: 15-20 minutes), order was screwed up, and the food was poorly made. At one point there were so many people inside the place waiting for their food that you couldn't even get near the napkins and utensils station at the front. Arriving from a long trip, we stopped at this new Taco Bell. We got some simple quick meals and attempted to be on our way. The wait was 20 min, they gave us the wrong orders with no receipt. Then when we attempted to get the situation fixed. The first step was they attempted to ignore us. So we went back to the drive through, where they accused us of receiving the right one, and not seeing it. Then dismissively told us to drive round. As we were waiting to drive round, we witnessed others attempt to bring their clearly wrong orders in, but were also ignored.
