I went there at noon on a Monday. Every table in the place was dirty. What looked like the manager was sitting at one of the tables on the phone. He watched me take a napkin to wipe off a table. I guess that wasn't a hint enough. The order taker sat leaning on the bar on her phone. On each table was a salt/pepper shaker and a napkin dispenser. All need to be wiped off. Food smudges on everything. The napkins weren't loaded into the dispensers correctly so you couldn't pull any out. Just overall dirty. I ordered lunch from Zac's Burger because the day demanded something fried and reliable. The world has been strange lately and sometimes the only answer is a sandwich that does not ask questions. I got the Spicy Chipotle Chicken. It was very good. The chicken breast was fried just right. Crispy on the outside. Juicy inside. No mystery. Pepper jack cheese melted the way cheese is supposed to melt. Lettuce and tomato added texture and color so I could feel like I made a balanced decision. Jalapenos gave it a little kick. The chipotle sauce brought the whole thing together like a competent middle manager. It made sense and did its job without drawing attention to itself. The fries were there. That is the nicest thing I can say. Not bad but not good either. A little soft. A little tired. Like they had been up all night watching TV and just wanted to go home. But the food was ready fast. O my goodness! When first my cherished one brought us these flavorful burgers, cheese steak, and even their fries and other items: I had forgotten what burgers were supposed to taste like! Not necessarily being a meat-eater all the time, (as our Prophet, on whom be peace, did not have to eat meat everyday, nor could he afford to everyday), that once in a blue moon high quality burger or cheesesteak makes a mouth-watering difference. I even brought my favorite high school buddy to this place, and did she love the foods equally! For sure! The environment is also neat and clean. The counter people and wonderful Spanish -speaking chefs and desk staff are kind and amicable, ensuring that each client is fully satisfied with the meal, ( without expecting extra tips, as today's joints have expected from customers). The location also provides a variety of ethnic flavors and sweet treats --including a great Korean mini-store with exotic tea biscuits and fresh fruits and vegetables in a neat setting. But most of all, once you've enjoyed these fresh halal burgers and cheesesteaks, you'll have to be convinced to even try a new similar version! So many competing thoughts came to me when I realized that this was the same Zac's that was located briefly in Hamilton a few years back. It was more of a diner concept with breakfasts all day and other entrees. I thought it was ballsy to open a breakfast place literally right across from an IHOP, and tried it with gf and we both enjoyed. Then it disappeared( ironically she did as well:) As I took the short drive to its new location in West Windsor it dawned on me that it was housed in a strip mall I was very well aware of, and had spent a lot of time at in my misspent youth. This mall is completely different now, but thoughts of that specific time were strong. Zacs is now a sandwich shop, and the decor speaks to that. Good inside space but also tables outside, along with a cute park within walking distance. Plenty of options for eating there. I took mine to go, a Nashville hot chicken, fries and a chocolate shake. I asked for the slaw on the side so as not to waterlog the bun. Once home I opened the box to find a perfectly intact brioche roll with a large breast hanging out of it. This was breaded with copious spice and was indeed hot. Still crispy too, and the meat was tender and juicy. The slaw had ranch dressing in it which went nicely, dill pickles and spicy Mayo rounded out the sammy. I enjoyed it very much. The fries were excellent too. The shake was ok, I would have liked for it to be richer in chocolate flavor though. I plan on revisiting again as I work pretty close to it. I'd love to try a burger here in the future too, but it would be hard not to select another poultry offering. Maybe I'll do both and skip the shake! read more

Chicken was truly crispy with awesome pickles, just yum. The fried Oreos are pretty cheap ( I would rate them 7/10) compared to other places out there. The Oreo shake was great as well but not as good as Five Guys for sure (8/10). They are on the bigger side when compared to some other places. Popped in for a quick lunch to-go. Zac's Burger is located at the end of a strip mall, toward the the Shell gas station. When I stepped in, it was pretty quiet. It did not take long for the staff to get my order. I got the single cheeseburger and fries, which came to about $8.50. They will also ask you if you want "everything" on your burger which includes picked, onions, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup. They gave me a buzzer, and it took about 10 minutes for them to buzz me up. The burger is made with high quality ingredients, especially the patty. I liked that the bun: patty ratio was just right - not overwhelming so you have too much bun at the end of your burger, and not too flimsy that everything gets messy. Also I'm a sucker for flavorful, crispy fries - Zac's had my back on that one. I'm impressed with this place and glad that I discovered it. Hope to be back soon! read more

Grabbed some food from here (to go) recently and was pretty impressed. First, the price point is great, especially if you use the student discount. My burger and fries weren't the best I've ever had, but they were decent, and I'm always happy when a burger joint has chipotle mayo for me (my favorite!). Given the pandemic, another big plus was that there's a small park nearby where my wife and I went to eat our food. Very convenient to have some nice scenery nearby! I can definitely imagine coming back here to grab another bite to eat. read more

Starting off strong are the fries: these are my favorite type of fries since they have the same texture as a curly fry, super crunchy and soft inside. The burger, however, was not too impressive. A single thin patty make it so that you really cannot taste the organic, grass fed beef that Zac's claims to use. However, what i could taste was very delicious and filling. Had the bacon burger and my partner had the beef gyro. Both were seriously underwhelming. Added fries that were just ok. Fried chicken sandwiches were obviously frozen chicken patties from restaurant depot that you buy in north philly corner stores at 2 am from an afghan behind bullet proof glass...undercooked. french fries came in a small 8 ounce water cup with a side of cheese that was only enough for dipping 3 or 4 french fries. Ordered a strawberry milkshake which was literally just nesquik strawberry syrup and milk....wasnt even a milkshake. When we complained about the order being wrong the cashier said it was our fault and claimed she gave us exactly what we ordered. Most of the $60 worth of food was thrown in the trash and we went to shake shack 5 minutes away. Where burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes are done right. read more

Horrible Staff!! I just called in for an order and the female who answered the telephone couldn't understand me clearly and got upset when I asked her to repeat my order. She hung up on me and when I called back 3x they refused to answer the telephone. When I arrived I knew it was her because she was the only female at the location. When I asked her her name she responded "You don't need my name" and walked away. There was a male employee there who wouldn't give me her name either so I asked for the manager's name "Leo". Leo, if you are reading this review please know you have hired a DEPLORABLE STAFF!! I've lived and dined in this area for 10 years and I have NEVER encountered anything like this. I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again and if you feel it is okay for YOUR staff to treat customers this way you don't deserve to have a business in our community. Jalajeno poppers were not very spicy, and the dip they come with make them unique, but no better than what everyone else is selling. So started off pretty unimpressed. I did a zac burger, and it was ok. Burgers cooked to all hell and piled 2 high, the bun was not too thick, so the ratio meat to bun was good. That said, this isn't really a gourmet burger- just a 1 stop up from McD's type deal. My sister ordered the cheesesteak which was also good, but could have used more cheese. I really like the fact that not only is the meat halal, but it is guaranteed organic and the beef to be 100% grass-fed, so you can eat knowing the meat you're having was raised and slaughtered in a humane fashion. My only stipulation about this place is that the menus don't say the what ingredients are in the specially named burgers, like the "Big Zac", or the "Zac Melt", but this was made up for by having an outline of the ingredients of all of their burgers made available on the counter where you place your order.
