Went to Taco Bell last night, pulled up to the window and was told they were only taking doordash and mobile orders. Pulled into a parking space and made an order then sat for 15 mins. I decided to pull around the building to see if anybody else was waiting and saw that the 3 workers were sitting inside in the lobby. My sisters quesadilla was completely raw; the cheese wasn't even melted. My chalupa had mayo in only one spot and when I bit into it I almost gagged and had to down it with my drink. The only good part about this is the drink selection, which is really hard to mess up. I would not come back here and I would not recommend this Taco Bell to anyone coming by. Stopped by for what we thought would be a quick snack on our way home. Oh. My. God. We have been waiting over 40 minutes in the drive through, there were only 3 cars in front of us, and we STILL have not yet gotten our food. We paid, they took our money, and just walked away. Then about 10 minutes later (I wish that were an exaggeration) someone else came back and asked us what we ordered. We told her and she said "no, you ordered..." and rattled off someone else's order. We explained that we had already paid. Then she shut the window and yelled to someone else and walked away. No one came back for another 10-15 minutes. Now they have finally handed us our food and not a single apology about it literally taking 52 minutes from start to finish. 52. Minutes. This is the worst Taco Bell in Porter County and the most consistently bad Taco Bell I've ever been to. Not only do they have trouble grasping very small orders, I've had them forget to put cheese on my nachos, I've gotten stale Fritos in my Crunchwrap slider, they've forgotten to give me napkins, once I received a burrito with a finger nail puncture mark through the wrapper and through the burrito. I don't eat fast food often, but I have come here a couple times after working late night. I can't speak for the day time, but the team that works nights is great. They are super pleasant and polite. I ordered a 7 layer burrito, and 2 loaded grillers. Got home looked at the food it all looked like crap burnt tortillas and hardly anything in my burrito. So my fiancé went back and complained they just took the stuff out of the grillers and burrito and just put it in a new tortilla! My burrito had was so small and had the tiniest amount of guacamole.. My experiences with this location have been mediocre at best, and insufferably annoying at worst. They like to put the crunchwraps in the bag upside-down so that all the tomatoes spill out where the folds are. My tacos are always soggy. The caramel apple empanadas are usually cold, and last time I went there, the girl working the drive-thru window was too busy gossiping with her co-worker to remember to give me my beverage. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR DRIVE-THRU ORDERS AT THIS LOCATION, and if you have to hurry to get anywhere (like work, in my case, when they forgot my drink and I was half way to Merrillville by the time I noticed) take a pass on eating here. I should have paid attention to the reviews of the place, but after a very rough day, I just wanted some tacos. I went inside and planned to eat them at the table. Upon entering the building I noticed that there was no air conditioning and it was extremely hot inside, so hot that it was hard to breathe. I ordered my food to go. When I got my food I walked over to get some sauce and all the sauce trays were empty. I asked them for sauce (as I won't eat tacos without it) and shockingly enough, they claimed that they were entirely out of sauce. Man, this place needs some SERIOUS staff training. My husband and I stopped off the highway SPECIFICALLY to drive to a Taco bell (which was quite a ways off the highway) We are vegans... so Taco bell is the thee only option for us when we have to "eat on the road" & we are eternally grateful for it....but these folks who work at this location do not know the menu AT ALL! So....our "go to" order is Crunch wrap Supreme "fresco style" (which mean take away All dairy (cheese & sour cream) and we substitute meat for black beans and rice....this woman didn't know what a Crunch wrap was???? , I had to explain it to her and she couldn't figure out (after many minutes of searching for it on her Computer menu) how to take off the meat and add black beans and rice...she was finally able to find a button that subs black beans for pinto beans. Then!!! (This is the best part because she actually was a very nice girl and she was very apologetic about being so clueless) she assures me that the cooks are total veterans and they know the menu very well....after I get my order and my husband and I start eating..."our crunchwraps" we come to realize that they have zero crunch in them (the tostada shell) so...it was just a glorified burrito wrapped weird!!! What a freaking joke!!! It's called a crunchwrap for a reason... and the crunch is the best part. This is by far the worst restaurant of any kind I have ever been to, and they are very consistant at being bad. First off, the inside is gross. Its dirty old and falling apart. Then, its almost a guarantee that you will wait in line at the drive through for 15 mins. And to top it off, they almost always screw up at least one thing in your order or if nothing else, make it poorly(barley any sause on somthing that its a main feature of the food). This Taco bell is a combination Pizza Hut/Taco Bell. Yesterday, my fiance and I went through the drive thru; I had the intention of ordering Taco Bell, he wanted Pizza Hut. I attempted to place his order first, I was quickly told, "We don't have any Pizza products". Now, i didn't see anywhere on the menu (that I could see) that they were sold out, or out of Pizza Hut. I jokingly responded, " A Pizza Hut without pizza?" to which I was snidely told, "There's a Pizza Hut down the street." Ok, that is true. But a. you are a restaurant that sells Pizza Hut. At the very least you could apologize for not having pizza, and mention the Pizza Hut down the street. I felt the attitude was rude. It came across as, "we're out of pizza, don't like it, go elsewhere." Which is what I did. I didn't want Taco Bell after that. Which some may argue, is actually a good thing. Too many bad experiences to recall. Food is typically cold/lukewarm, orders usually have a mistake, service is slow (don't order from the drive thru if you are in a hurry to be somewhere). It seems there are always new employees, which explains the consistently mediocre service. We live in Portage, but only get Taco Bell from the Chesterton and Valpo locations. read more
