I was greeted by a seasoned lady who was as doing a fantastic job and my food was done correctly, she listened to my request carefully, and was so polite. I saw that there were only her and a cook there, but that didn't stop this amazing couple of ladies. When I asked her were they the only two she replied yes. I hope for Captain D's that this wasn't planned. I hope some people just called in because this was too much work for the two of them not to be paid more when working without help. The restaurant was clean, well-appointed, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and easily the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, that's where the good news ended for me. While the portions were generous, I found the food to be pretty bland. Everything we ordered seemed to rely entirely on the flavor of whatever was being fried rather than any seasoning in the batter itself. The shrimp, catfish, and oysters were all cooked well enough, but they just lacked flavor. Even the fried okra, which is usually one of my favorites, was disappointing. If you're looking for large portions of simply prepared fried seafood, this may be your kind of place. For me, though, the food just didn't have the seasoning or flavor I was hoping for. I left wishing it had been better, and unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.

I had a lamb gyro and the lamb was ground lamb and not the pieces shaved off of the spit. It was also overly done with lemon. Another staff member came over to assist inputting my order before heading back to her post (they were pretty busy). The initial member continued to struggle at the register with no sign of help from management or a team lead. My order consisted of flame thrower chicken strips with vanilla soft serve, toast and fries. For whatever reason this item caught my eye while scanning the menu. A bacon cheeseburger deluxe (double) was ordered in addition to the above. Chicken strips were pipping hot (major plus) and overall not too bad for a fast food restaurant. DQ gave me a flame thrower burger instead of the bacon cheeseburger I had ordered. I called the store, selected the prompt for a manager and was told to have the replacement made upon my next visit since I was unable to return same day. Fast forward to my next visit. The wait to take my order was lengthy due to limited staff being on the clock at my time of arrival. I brought my receipt, ordered regular chicken strips with gravy, fries and a small strawberry shake for my friend and brought my receipt to have the correct burger remade for me. Shawn's attitude towards the burger remake and her condescending remarks towards her coworker were extremely unprofessional. The way she spoke to him was as if she was scolding a child instead of speaking to a mutual adult was unacceptable. The gentleman remade the burger with no issue. My 6 strip basket was made into a 4 strip basket which I corrected them on when I heard it being questioned. Shawn stated "I don't know, read the ticket, I know I rang it up right". She in fact didn't ring my order in correctly. The strip count of 6 was correct, however, she input dine in instead of take out and a medium strawberry shake instead of the small that was ordered. Upon receiving my order there was bbq sauce and honey mustard neither of which were ordered and no gravy. This was brought up to the staff and eventually fixed. Once I got home... I realized there were 5 instead of 6 tenders and these were puny compared to the flamethrower order. After my visit, I decided to not even call because I honestly didn't feel it would be properly taken care of. My first visit went well and would have had me return even if I did not experience an error in my order. The cashier needed to be trained but wasn't unpleasant. Weird and unpleasant second experience to say the least. This visit alone turned me off to any future visits or recommending this particular store to anyone. ** DQ Fan Relations response: Poor process for complaints/poor experiences to be addressed. I should not have to jump through hoops to connect to a franchise owner.

I will have to say, I was sad that after getting halfway through my blizzard it was only vanilla soft serve. The blizzard was not mixed all the way through and could have used a little more cotton candy bits. Maybe next time I should just pay for extra bits to ensure the entire blizzard is an actual blizzard and not soft serve. I think blizzard prices have gone up a lot and think it's worth it if the blizzard is actually mixed thoroughly!
