Top: Chorizo Taco Bottom (Left to Right): Chicken Taco, Steak Taco, Campechano Taco

Steak, Chorizo, and Campechano tacos were very hard to beat. I went on a Saturday at 8pm and got my food within 5 minutes of ordering it. Tacos came with onions, cilantro, along with sides of red and green sauce. Great takeout or quick eat spot.

I'm so glad I found this little spot on Google maps because it was legit. Don't be scared of the food truck in the gas station parking lot because the food is so good and so authentic. I had three tacos: chicken, steak, and pastor. The pastor was my favorite but all were delicious. The food came out crazy fast as well.

I've tried 10+ taco trucks in the bham area, I think this is the king. I have not ordered anything outside of tacos but I don't need to do so. My favorites are the lengua, pastor, and asada. No hard bits, no nasty things that should've been trimmed away. I'll keep trying taco trucks around town but this one is top of my list for now. Wish I could give them 10 stars.

Tacos had some extra protien.. found this little bug mixed in with the meat. You have been warned. Campechano Taco

I used to like this taco truck but now the food isn't that great and way to salty.. the worst part is I found a bug in the campechano tacos mixed in with the meat. I figured i should let others know just Incase your thinking about going here.

Quick and my pastor quesadilla was great! Best one I've had in a long time. Pastor was really spicy and came with two different salsas/sauces. Good prices and service.

I went to my favorite taco truck in town today. Tacos El Guero is in a great location right off of highway 280 and their tacos are pretty good! The pork is a little spicy, but I typically order a side of avocado to help balance out the spice. They're never skimpy on the onions and cilantro, which adds tons of flavor to the tacos. This place is covid friendly since it's outside and they offer outside seating. The tacos are served in a styrofoam container and a paper bag is used for carry-out. I'd highly recommend giving this taco truck a try!

Some of the most authentic Street tacos I've had in Birmingham, would definitely come back again

Been going for years. The other 3 taco trucks on highway 280 are nothing compared to El Guero!

Great food every single time, prices are great and service is great. Honestly the best quick and consistent taco place in birmingham.

A busy Sunday afternoon, a steady line of customers. Made our order and found a seat outside. We…read morelove outdoors if the weather permits. Brisket plate with slaw and potato salad. Smoked 1/4 Chicken with slaw and Hoe cake. We should have both skipped the slaw, waterly thin & sweet. Fried Hoecake ok. Tater salad good as was the brisket and chicken. Service was spotty. The noise was over the top, music too loud for any conversation, inside was worse with a room full of people. All the glass makes the acoustics hard for hearing anything but noise and not so good music. Good BBQ, the Atmosphere good be much better.

Had lunch today at Martin's BBQ Joint located at 3029 Pump House Road in Vestavia Hills, Alabama…read more It's actually in the Cahaba Heights area off of Highway 280. You order at the counter, which can be a little hectic for a first-timer. Luckily for me, I knew what I wanted and quickly found it on the big menu on the wall beside me. I later noticed that people were looking at handheld menus as you entered the restaurant. There was no one in front of me when I entered, so I didn't see those. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful in answering my questions. I ordered the pulled pork shoulder tray with two sides. If you have read my reviews, you know I only eat fries, so I doubled up the fries. You are given a number and can sit anywhere in their very big (for a BBQ joint) indoor dining area, or you can sit on a patio or outside. The walls are COVERED with pictures of old movie posters, country music stars, album covers, car tags, signs, and even a picture of the NWO (IYKYK). I didn't see the required Alabama BBQ joint picture of The Bear, Alabama football coach Paul Bryant, but with so many things on the wall, I'm sure it has to be there somewhere. There is a separate 'To-Go' spot for placing orders on the run. This also looked like a bar area as I saw advertising for alcohol. They also offer T-shirts and hats for sale if that is your thing. The menu consists of burgers, tacos, brisket, chicken, catfish, smoked chicken wings, BBQ nachos with just about any kind of side you can ask for, and pie for dessert. My order was brought to me in a timely manner. The BBQ is West Tennessee-style whole hog that Martin's cooks low and slow over hickory wood for up to 24 hours. The pulled pork is melt-in-your-mouth delicious, topped off with their special Jack's Creek BBQ sauce, on the table, which is a sweet vinegar and pepper-based sauce. I did see other sauces behind the counter, so I'm sure you just have to ask. The portions were just right for me. The fries are real cut potatoes that have been peeled. I doubled up, and that was enough to feed a family of four. Next time I will just ask for one side so as not to waste fries. The Jack's Creek sauce was great poured over my fries; it is water-based and not thick, and that is how I like my sauce. The sweet tea wasn't as sweet as some places, but I'm not complaining; it was good, and the day was hot. There seemed to be a lot of staff working. I guess it can be busy on Saturdays for lunch. I visited around 2:30 pm, and it was not crowded when I arrived but picked up as my time went on. The staff didn't have anything to say as several walked past me while doing random things. Not that it's a bad thing; I just always acknowledged customers with a "how ya doing?"--little things. The music was a mix of classic rock, soft 70s to hair metal, set at a decent volume. I don't mind being able to hear the radio, but maw maw and paw paw may complain that it was too loud. The parking lot may fill up with a big dinner crowd as there is a business next door that shares the parking lot. There is handicap parking available. Overall, Martin's offered a cool atmosphere for BBQ and a relaxing meal. They offer live music some nights (check their website), and it seems to be a great place for socializing in a casual setting. 5/5 -Kevin

I always pass by this place but never thought to actually visit. This time I did. Boy am I glad I…read moredid. These guys know food! They serve breakfast all day and the lunch/dinner specials are great. It's a hole in the wall place but it works. There is no dining area perse so it best to get take out. The gentlemen there were nice and courteous and offered their best seller which is the fat mama burger which is two ground 1/4lbs chuck patties, bacon, shrimp, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayo, and mustard. It was delicious! The size of it was monstrous! It was magnificent! I had to cancel my order of fries! Lol They have beverages here but not on tap; everything is in a can. That's a good thing in my opinion. The prices of everything is very reasonable and manageable. The service is top notch but what I enjoyed the most was the conversation and recommendation as this was my first, but not last, time visiting. I'm so mad I'm just now trying them. I'll be trying their breakfast next time because I saw a plate the owner was making and it made my mouth water like a Doberman Pinscher finally getting that bone. They accept cash, debit, and credit, the latter via square and they'll email or text you a receipt if needed. Very convenient and practical. They also do catering so if you have a function coming up, give them a call. All in all, this was a great first time experience. Great recommendations, quick food service, awesome owner and cook, and worthy of service. Visit these guys ASAP!
