I came here for dinner and there was decent traffic in the dining area. My order was accurate, came out fast, and was hot and fresh. They are a bit stingy on the condiments here, as they closed up the salsa bar early and only portioned out small amounts upon request. However, it was clear that management is not doing enough to motivate employees. This is apparently obvious when workers were expressing that did not want to be working this Saturday evening during my visit. The girl who took my order was complaining about having to work, the kitchen staff slapped the food together as if he was bothered into having to prepare an order, and everyone disappeared to the back after I got my food. Other patrons came in and had to wait at the counter for someone to come out and take their order. Overall, I have no qualms about the food--my order came out and met expectations. Walked in and immediately smelled urine from the bathrooms. Should have walked out right then and there but they seen us walk in. So we went ahead and ordered. Looking around while waiting for our food we could see how dirty the place was. The back of the chairs have not been wiped down in some time. The floors were dirty and I think the air was broke. Food was mediocre at best. My chicken was dry. The guacamole was a little brown on top. To dirty for me to ever go back. If the dinning area looked like that then what does the kitchen look like. I had high hopes for Taco Bueno. I'm a notoriously easy sell for fast food mexican chains like Del Taco, Taco Time and Taco Bell. I ordered a Bueno Chilada combo and a bean burrito. The ground beef was unbelievably salty. The cheddar cheese (on the crisp taco that comes with the combo) was salty also and didn't taste very cheesy, and the refried beans were salty also. Lastly, the tortilla on the bean burrito wasn't steamy or supple, it was a little dry and crusty. Really the only redeeming aspects to the whole thing were that the price was low and the person who took my order was friendly. It's not something I would try more than maybe 1 other time with different menu items. read more

We waited 10 mins for this location after the posted opening hour along with 4 other cars of customers. Some waited outside the door; some in the drive thru. There was no sign of life inside. The lights were on, but nobody was home. There were three employee (?) vehicles in the lot, so surely employees were inside. Went to Bueno today to get a few tacos before the Cowboys game. As a seasoned veteran who has been burned at the drive thru too many times to count, I checked my order and noticed I was not given all of my food. I went back inside, with my food and the receipt to show them and gather the rest of my order. In the least shocking moment of the day, the younger Hispanic girl with glasses wearing a red shirt (assuming this is a manager or shift leader role), who has been nothing but bad attitude and absolute displeasure to deal with, was behind the counter. When she asked what I needed, she yelled at someone else to help me. Not to pick on her, but the last 3 times I've had bad experiences here have all been with the same girl. It's a fast food joint; I realize you don't have to be a rocket surgeon or brain scientist to work there, but at least smile, be courteous, and try to be helpful. Absolutely TERRIBLE service. These people were unprofessional, talking among each other about non-work related stuff the whole time. They didn't greet me. I had to stand there and waive to get somebody's attention. They didn't even look at me and tell me to give them a moment if they were busy. They just kept going about their business and almost made me feel like I was interrupting them. They didn't thank me for my purchase either, or apologize for taking so much time to offer me service. They had run out of medium lids for my drink.... again I had to flag someone down. He begrudgingly gave me one, but still didn't refill the main stack. Then there weren't any cups for the sauce bar. Again, he begrudgingly gave me one, but didn't replenish the stack even though I told him there weren't any and that he needed to replenish. The restroom was average, not very clean. And the restaurant was also filthy... the counters, the salsa bar, the food trays were greasy... the food preparation area was messy and didn't look well kept. Very disappointing experience. I love the Taco Bueno in Rockwall! The store in Greenville is horrible. Very rude employees, filthy, and food that is not at all what you get in Rockwall. I watched 2 employees treat a senior citizen like dirt. She didn't get her tacos or guacamole with her order. She politely told the employees what she was missing, the female employee acted like she was asking for free food. I stood in line waiting to order for about 5 minutes while the employees grumbled. I love Taco Bueno, but I had a weird experience yesterday in Greenville! Came into the store with my boyfriend, and the girl with short hair and glasses working the counter took my order. Then she started sweeping the store while my boyfriend was still at the counter waiting to order. She looked at him several times and continued to sweep. Finally (7 minutes later), some other customers came in, so she went to take his order. Manager asked her to do something and she replied with complaining and yelling about something. She disappeared a lot and didn't seem very eager to do her job. I know fast food isn't the most fun job in the world, but it certainly is distracting to customers eating when an employee is making a big deal and yelling. I ordered the 3 taco meal. Bland is a overstatement. There was no seasoning on the meat. The shells had no flavor. Nothing had flavor. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla. 8 tiny cubes of chicken piled onto what seemed to be a block of unmelted cheese. Now one would think they couldn't screw up the drinks. The closest Taco Bueno to me is the Greenville location, and it's a 1 hour drive for me to get there. Anytime I go through Greenville, I always stop. Today was no exception. However I was less than thrilled with my experience today. I should have turned around and left as soon as the strong scent of sewage hit me as soon as I walked in. My excitement for my Bueno trumped my better judgement. I ordered 2 Party Burritos and 2 Soft Tacos (no Lettuce or Tomato). The manager was nice to point out I could get a better deal on their Pick 3 Special, so I ordered a Taquito also. This was a To Go Order. Later when I got home and took the items from my bag.....they had overfilled my Burritos and Beans were coming out both ends and the sides. In addition, my soft Tacos had both Lettuce and Tomatoes. Because I am allergic to Tomatoes, I had to throw them out. No, I couldn't just pick them off, they had already touched my meat and tortilla and I would break out in hives within 5 min. Besides that, I asked that they not be on there. I went ahead and heated the Burritos. I don't know what they put in those but they were so salty, I had to take a drink of water after each bite. If I would have lived closer, I would have returned these items. I will not be returning to this location. Another one is opening in Sulphur Springs next week and that one is only 45 minutes away. read more

So, my family and I simply live this Bueno location. The staff is friendly and welcome when customers come in. I've always liked the fact that you can see into the kitchen. I can see if someone does anything that would make me say something that I would not like. Thankfully I've never had to do that. Now that the mall is finally converted to the Promenade it makes it easier to get in and out. I've never liked the parking here, but there's really nothing that can be done about that. The food is always hot and prepared well. The restaurant is kept clean from what I've seen. Overall my experience with this Bueno has been fantastic. read more

I am done I have given them too many "benefit of doubt" calls. If I could give zero stars I would but the minimum was one(1). I have enjoyed Taco Bueno for many years. I recently visited the Greenville Texas location and ordered a dozed party burritos and there was barely enough filling in each and every burrito to taste the beans. They were literally flat for the lack of filling. If this store is financially in trouble so much that they need to keep cost down by shorting customers then shame on you.
