Well, I returned back here and let me say, this location is back to the top of my list! There is a gentleman here by the name of Brayden that absolutely changed my view of this location. I have had a couple of visits here recently that were not the greatest experiences. However, Brayden has single-handedly reversed my previous thoughts (which were based on my previous experiences). Loaded queso with large order of chips. Queso a little spicy with ok flavor, but it's barely loaded, mostly runny cheese. We also got carnita bowl with a tiny bit of meat in it. The food is delicious. We love coming with our little ones... They have fantastic kids meal options. It's pretty pricey, but they have great specials where kids eat free on Sunday so try that out if you have little ones. The burritos is great, but if you want, they can put it on top of a salad. I used to go to Freebirds all of the time and had their loyalty card. The last time I went there I had enough previous purchases to get a free burrito. They would not honor my card because they had transitioned to the app and said I could go online and get the card balance transferred to the app. Not an option when I am in line having to pay for a burrito that should have been my free reward. I have not been back to a Freebirds since then. They lost a loyal customer with mismanagement of their loyalty program. I am just as happy to get my burritos from their competition now. read more

This Freebirds location like most of the ones I've been into is clean, has good employees, and makes a damn fine burrito. They have so many options to choose from when building a burrito which makes for a great burrito building experience. if you get a large burrito you'll be dealing with a lot of food, I've never actually weighed one but I would venture to say it's easily over a pound, maybe even two. When this small woman with short hair asked me a question I couldn't understand what she was asking me so she began to treat me very poorly. She was so mean that it almost had me in tears. Food is usually great however I don't recommend this location. We arrived at around 7:45pm on 11/25 and there were almost no veggies/toppings on the serving line. The veggies/toppings available were available were sitting around the gigantic hole/refrigeration they were supposed to be in. The guy that was making my burrito must have seen the confused look on my face and said something about doing "pre-closing". The store doesn't close until 9:30pm. Our burritos were limited with no offer to bring out what they had already put away. Its not like we showed up 10 minutes before closing. Regardless they were super busy they took time to change there gloves to not cross contaminate for my order since I have a severe food allergy. Where I can have anaphylaxis. Rockwall location didn't change there gloves and just said oh... I don't know what's in it. Sat down to eat... no other customers in the store. As I sit here at my filthy patio table (chosen because it's less gross than the ones inside) I've made the decision to never, ever eat here again. This Freebirds is always dirty and the salsa bar is always nasty. Today, however, I believe it's also a health risk! The salsa pumps are always broken, meaning they don't go up and down. Today I managed to squeeze out just a little bit of salsa and I was alarmed by what I saw, tasted and smelled! I don't know how many months it's been since the salsa has been changed out, but it has a very sharp taste like it has fermented for a while. The thing I'm most concerned about is the bubbles in it that you see in spoiled foods. I also have pieces of chicken so black I thought I bit a rock. As much as I have always been a huge Freebird's, I will never eat at this location again. It has been consistently terrible for the entire year I have been coming here. I'm in other parts of town and in Austin enough to just enjoy it while I am away from Rockwall. I sure hope no one gets sick, it's pretty disgusting and that is a disappointment. I almost didn't order. Went to restroom first. The odor in the place was off... like musty mop water. But the bathroom wasn't terrible so decided to order since I didn't wanna stop again. Ordered a monster and there were more black beans than Any other ingredients, which Would have been fine but the black beans were crunchy. Only one option for cheese and not enough to even notice. They don't use regular sour cream anymore, it's in a squirt bottle and is watered down. I was quite disappointed, as years ago this was my go to place when passing through town for an amazing burrito. So many things have changed. Freebirds is my go to burrito spot and has been for years. Love that they brought beyond meat to their menu. This is the first time I have been to this Rockwall Freebirds location. Let me tell you it was an awful experience from the start. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I am a huge fan and am not seeking to hurt their reputation. However, I hope a manager addresses this with their employees because it is detrimental to their business. When we first walked in the two girls working the line (11/25/19)just kept talking about they were hoping that no one else would walk in (came in at 8:15pm). They were taking forever because they were just carrying on in conversation and not going through the line options. Also, they were out of beans, veggies and low on the beyond meat (which was hard as a rock). The service was just bad as well as the food. They were eating and drinking without washing their hands. Friends were in and out of the back. It was just a mess, I would check the cameras. Every Sunday night my Aggie Family gathers at Freebirds in Rockwall to reflect on the week and enjoy family time. The team at Freebirds from Andrew on the grill to Holly making my daughter's special bowl are amazing. Kyle, who looks like a young Alan Jackson, and big man Warren make certain each order is made as requested. Chrystine with her colorful hair is a southern belle at heart and exudes charm and concern. Freebirds is awesome but this location is not worthy of your business. We decided to go to this place for lunch today. When we arrived, the entire staff was in the back room as there was nobody in line at the time. We got our usual, a burrito for me and a Bowl my wife. At this point, we went to locate place to sit. While there was not many patrons, there was not a single table available since every available table was covered with remnants from a prior diner. We cleaned off a spot and sat down. We filled up our beverages, a coke and a Coke Zero but unfortunately they were flat and the coke syrup was not a good mix. I have had enough at this point so I go to request a refund of the $4.50 I paid for flat nasty soda. The manager refunded it with a crappy attitude and without apology for the low quality of their drinks. The food was edible but overall, this location is obviously poorly managed. I highly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

My, oh my, has it been forever since yours truly busted out a review. Been very busy at the office as it were and while still checking in, I've been running ragged. Enough of that though! Ok, so my son has a LOT of food intolerance problems. Any artificial additives / preservatives etc... are to be avoided. So there are precious few restaurants we can eat out at where he doesn't feel like a pariah (he's only 9). Freebirds is one of those places that is so conscious of what is in their food that my son can eat ANYTHING there. Now, at the soda fountain its a different issue, but he can have sprite so no biggie. Anywho the food. I actually like it. I like the bowls, I like the burritos. I like the selection of condiments / toppings. I like the guacamole, I like the hot habanero sauce. I like the employees (at least at this AR DUB location). I like that I can grab a beer. I like that my son doesn't worry about what he can or can't order. IMO the food is good, you can slather it up guilt free and that makes this a staple. Food - 3ish People - 5 Options - 5 Parking sucks, but who cares. We can feed all 4 of us (very well) for under 30 bucks and it's not really even bad for us. read more

You know back in the day when I was a chipotle or die fan. I used to think ohhhhh good luck freebirds! Then freebirds said oh you dont like our things? And they totally amped up their menu game. They now offer beyond meat as a protein! They said to chipotle get good bro. It is fabulous! The variety! The statue of liberty bursting through a brick wall on a harley motorcycle! The veggies are plentiful to add to your burrito, bowl, or nachos, or salad bowls! The hot sauce burns and make sure if you like fire get that habanero. So free birds has done good now and swayed me more to their side(sorry chipotle, but sofritas are gross :/) Staff here is friendly and the inside is definitely fun to look at. read more

I'm not a fan of cookie-cutter corporate eateries and Rockwall is chock full of them. But the wife and I ate lunch here today and we were both impressed - all the ingredients were fresh and my wheat tortilla, in particular, was pretty tasty. The only con? It's very noisy inside - the acoustics resemble an indoor swimming pool - throw in the loud music (which I don't mind, actually) and it is difficult to communicate with the staff - all of whom were nice and friendly. It also makes table conversation a definite challenge and that's a shame, really. If you prefer local eateries, you should consider Chiloso - they started the Artisan burrito thing in Rockwall and their food is comparable allbeit with less choices. But, the Chiloso experience is a little more chill, despite similar throngs of hungry gringos lined-up to pay a premium for their burrito. (And damn, I am one of them!) read more

Did someone let the top fall off the salt shaker when salting my food? I just had the food from here from DoorDash. The queso was over salted, the burrito bowl was over salted. We dine at Freebirds quite frequently because the food is delicious, it's always fairly quick, and the prices are very reasonable. The employees at the Rockwall restaurant are some of the friendliest, upbeat, and professional ones we have encountered of all the locations we have dined at. Always appreciate the good music playing inside too. In comparison, we prefer Freebirds to Chipotle simply due to the larger variety offered at Freebirds... and the queso is so good! read more

Ordered nachos and a burrito online for pickup, nachos were good. Burrito was order with carnitas , rice , beans , salsa , sour cream and guacamole. They read the first 3 ingredients and made my burrito, it was all meat , beans and rice. All the other toppings left off and they charged a $1.40 for guacamole that I didn't get ! Won't be back any time soon, might have to try chipotle read more
