Service was amazing and food was made in a timely matter. The sauces are also delicious. Many restaurants have sauces that are just spice but here it is spice and flavor which is very rare. My favorite Mexican food in Fillmore! Family owned by a wonderful couple who always make you feel welcomed. Food is fresh and prepared to order. The green salsa is so good I could drink it! We ordered the carne asada fries, tacos: carnitas, castle asada, and chicken, and horchata. The horchata was probably the only good thing. The meat on the carne asada and carnitas was dry and the chicken tacos has no seasoning whats so ever. They were just boiled chicken breasts that were shredded and put on a tortilla. The horchata had a little too much cinnamon in my opinion but still pretty good. Probably will never go here again due to the dry meat on the tacos. read more

Meh Upon opening the door you're greeted by a greasy smell. Decided to ignore it because my husband was starving. Pretty busy in a Sunday lunch hour, which is a good sign, only open spot to accommodate 5 of us was right next to a pile of dirty dishes. We didn't really care as long as we could get fed, haha. Waitress was quick to greet us and bring our drinks but holy crap, it took 37 mins to bring some tacos, nachos, a torta and a burrito. Seriously, this stuff shouldn't take that long to make. The measly chips and salsa was barely enough for 2 people. Should have been refilling it and our drinks so we wouldn't noticed the long wait at least. Unfortunately, the food wasn't even that impressive to ignore it's tardiness. Not worth the $50 or the time we spent here. Boo read more

This restaurant used to be great, but recently it just sucks. The meat in the food tastes stale. The most recent time I went, the AC was broken so it was very hot in the restaurant. I got my food to go with my family and they messed multiple items on my order. That happens, I had my receipt and I asked if they could remake it correctly. When they heard me ask that, they hung up and blocked me. All in all, this restaurant isn't what it was and there are better, cheaper, restaurants around. read more

Stopped in for dinner earlier this evening because pictures of their food looked good on Yelp. This place is very authentic. The service was good, restaurant was small, but clean, and food was delicious. I had the nachos with carne asada (I'm a sucker for cheap, nacho cheese). The meat was tasty, the ratio of cheese:meat:beans:chips was just right, and it came with my favorite sides (sour cream, jalapeños, and avocado). For starters their food is actually pretty good, they are usually my go to spot in town for Mexican food, the only problem is I usually call during lunch and they never answer their phone there, leaving me no choice but to go elsewhere. Stop by this place for lunch today and ordered a couple of Gorditas de Chicharron, it was the special of the day. BEST GORDITAS I HAVE EVER HAD!!! The "masa" was fresh and the chicharron was to delicious. I don't live in this town, but these gorditas make me want to move to Filmore. This was one of the spots I would purchase food from at least 3 times a week. But No More!!!! So I went in to pick up an order I had placed by phone let me tell you my orders are always of around $80-$110 every time I come in. So I ordered a drink when I was paying I asked the young lady at the register if I could get a drink holder I told her my car only had 2 drink holders and I already had drinks in them so I wanted a drink holder for the drink I purchased there. She responds to me by saying no I can't I told her well I'll purchase you she says No that she can't sell it to me ether. Let me remind you I just purchased a drink from her and I don't have anywhere in the car to hold the drink. There a couple sitting at a table and they can hear she is telling me no. They look at me like what!!! She didn't want to give me or sell me the drink holder bec I purchased drinks next door fresh waters. Those where in the car drink holders already. I purchased a drink from her and I asked her for the drink holder and she told me no. I even offered to pay for it and she still told me no I ended up holding the drink between my legs all the way home. I will never been back again since then. What terrible service to tell me I can't have or purchase a cup holder is stupid. I could see the had many of them. But anyway I will never go there again they lost a good client that would spend at least $300 per week. read more

First time here, came with the hubby for a quick bite to eat before going to six flags and I'm glad we did. I ordered camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic shrimp) and it was sooo good! It's not the typical garlic shrimp, they add Chile's de árbol to the garlic butter so it gives it a nice spice. My hubby kept eating off my plate. He ordered el burrito azteca. He liked it but he said he would come back for the shrimp I ordered. I also ordered a tostada de ceviche de pescado. Very generous with the portion! It was $6 for the one tostada but you could easily make it into three tostadas if you ask them for extra plain tostadas which is what I did since it was a lot to pile on one tostada. The service as well was great! There were two girls helping us I believe everyone helps each other out i don't think you only get one server. The tip you give them goes into one jar I noticed which I actually think is great because you don't have to wait long for anything anyone can grab anything for you. All in all I would definitely come back here just for that shrimp alone but also for the great service! We live all the way in Northern California but we'll be back forsure for the great food and customer service. read more

On my way back home from work. My taco spot in Camarillo had a long line. Continued driving home and decided to try this location. I did not bother to take the time to read reviews. I ordered three tacos in total pastor & tripas. My special request was one single tortilla per taco . Normally I attempt to base my reviews on taste and authenticity. I have to say it seemed like eternity to receive 3 tacos and the place was not busy. I paid for my food order and sat down and time passed with new patrons coming in welcomed by a basket of chips and salsa. It was mind boggling as to why I was never offered chips.Perhaps they said this gorda does not need chips. Finally my tacos came out with no salsa. I had to waive down the cashier for salsa. Once I ate my taste less tacos she offered me chips. So disappointing this place is located on my route home. Long lines dont deceive. I should have made time to stand in it and order my tacos in Camarillo. read more

Hands down the best fish tacos around! Crispy fish with the perfect amount of cilantro and onions and their delicious homemade green sauce, I always order about 6 so I can enjoy leftovers. This review is as a first time customer. I ordered 3 tacos( 2 asada 1 carnitas). Tacos were bomb and reminded me of the ones I got in Mexico when I was young. I also got a small shrimp cocktail and I must say it was very good as well. Had plenty of shrimp and comes with half a pack of saltine crackers. The staff is friendly and the place seems clean. It's a whole in the wall but we all know that those are the best spots. I'm not from around the area and just happened to stop by because I was driving thought the 126 but I would come back for sure if I was. Next time I'm passing by and I'm hungry, it will be a for sure stop. read more

All stars are for taste, minus 2 for cleanliness and service. This place has some bomb tacos. Their shrimp tacos are on point for sure. As far as cleanliness, I saw a metal rack in the kitchen that had food, cleaning supplies, kitchen supplies and a half empty water bottle last time I came. Kinda gross to have in plain sight of where I pay. Also, when my wife ordered over the phone I heard her say "yes" twice to whatever the employee asked. Apparently it was for rice and beans. Didn't get them in the bag and when I called back the employee got all defensive and said "no, I even asked the girl who called twice if she wanted rice and beans and she said no. I asked her twice and she said no." My wife never used the word "no" but whatever I told her it was a misunderstanding and let it slide.
