Having never been to Wyoming before a few months ago, I was caught by surprise at the name of this little Cheyenne institution: Taco John's. What the hell is that? John's taco shop? Is that like Taco Bell but not. The thing is that there are apparently like a dozen of these things hanging around Wyoming. Hell the civic center or something is called the the Taco John Center. They have sporting events and such there... Who the hell is Taco John?! Feeling peckish and finally deciding to see for myself what this was all about, I meandered my way into the Taco Johns in downtown Cheyenne. For starters, it was busy as hell. But I will admit the staff was on top of things and moved the traffic along at pace that was quite impressive. The place looked clean and the prices were affordable. I ordered to Tacos and the loaded chicken burrito meal or something like that. They have this wierd but endearing thing where they serve mini hash browns with dipping cheese with all their meals. Interesting, not altogether bad, I suppose. The food itself was.. okay. No complaints. No compliments. I got what I paid for in manner that was polite and casual. Will I return, meh.. depends on how much weight I'm trying to gain, but overall a good experience. read more

I arrived and placed my order with no problems. There was about a ten minute wait until I arrived at the drive up window. The wait once at the window was another 20 minutes. The girl told me they didn't have the street taco tortillas and offered flour which I agreed on. The manager then shows up a minute later and chastises next that the flour tortillas are more expensive, but since they are out she will honor them. I get to the hotel room and they forgot a kids meal! How does a $30 order take 30+ minutes and you can't get the order right? Now I have an unhappy kid that didn't get her order. read more

I will not step foot in taco johns on s.greeley highway in cheyenne wyo. Here is why. So I'm not sure who this needs to be directed to, but I was completely disgusted at one of taco johns employees tonight at the store in cheyennevwyoming on s greeley highway in 12/6/2022. I saw a man with his very elderly father getting ready to pull into a handicap parking spot because they carried the very legal emblem that is required by law to park in those spots he was getting ready to pull into and another person pulled up parked in it in front of them the man from the visibly handicap capped marked car got out to ask the unmarked vehicle to move the person said well I identify as handicap the man started to get angry the unmarked man went in got a taco johns employee which came out and asked the handicap car with the elderly man to leave the premises completely. Are you kidding me? First of all he was illegaly parked and the handicapped person should have called a cop cuz they would have been ticketed. But my father is disabled and if it would have happened with him I'd be in jail . How very disrespectful and totally f#$ked up that you would do that. But i am going to report this taco johns to not only corporate but the association for disabled people. There are reasons this is a law. We had a hungry son an immediate need for food, he was thinking Mexican food and then we drove by the Taco John's that is near the state capital as we were here for vacation. I remember the Taco John's in Frankfort Ky now closed. We ordered the 3 taco combo large, a burrito and super nachos. Tacos only meat and lettuce, and some of the shells were cracked, the burrito was good, and the nachos were on the small side to be called super, small amount of chips and toppings. The salsa bar with jalapinos helped. Total bill, just over $17 read more

Purists will want to skip the Potato Olés as chicken tenders may have shared the same frier, as have the taco shells. The salsa bar let's you decide how to garnish what you order. Gone is the Pico de Gallo, but the other tasty treats are still there. This is among the better fast food options. I order extra beans so that there is more beans than tortilla in the burritos which tends to be a common problem with most fast food burritos. read more

This is the second time I've had an issue with them in two weeks. Im tired of the employees rude and unprofessional attitudes on top of the hygiene issues. I spoke with the district manager and the general manager of this location but it seems like they just don't care. The rude girl running the drive through today doesn't deserve a job in the food industry. She also needs to wear her mask properly. The staff was super nice and didn't seem to mind at all that we were tired and had no clue what we felt like eating. The various hot sauces and salsas alone set the experience apart but the Super Potato Olés are my reason to eat here. I have a major problem with this store after 930pm. I have been there several times & have gotten "I can't take your order the computer is down. Tonite it wasn't even 10pm in the drive up and received an in edible meat & potato burrito. The shell was so hard it couldn't even be wrapped properly. This store is super clean. The staff is friendly and everyone is working hard. The food was well prepared and came out pretty quick. No crispy edges on the soft tacos and the potato olés were perfect. I also like that the y brought my food to the table instead of yelling a number from the counter like other TJ locations. As an added bonus they have real iced tea, not the soda fountain stuff. If you need a quick bite in Cheyenne, this is worth a stop. This is the best fast food I have had in a long time. read more
