So let's talk about this! The place is not for a family I walked in the other I know the gerenal manager very well he has a sick girlfriend at home on palliative care and he seriously has a girl which was an employee sitting on his lap in the lobby snapping pictures. To me this is the worst place I have every been at in Evansville indiana. I go back again he's up there again no where seen so I'm guessing he was in his office him and the same employee came out of bathroom together. This is no place to take ur family. You have a dying gf at home which has no clue because I know her family while your sleeping and snapping photos with your employee on ur lap unproductive unprofessional and just straight up wrong. I will never go back there again and neither will anybody I know til the big dude that is supposed to be a GM is gone if I ever do return. I fell sorry for his girlfriend at home. I'd like to go on the record as saying I LOVE Taco John's. Given a choice between the many Mexican fast food options, I'd always opt for Taco John's over Taco Bell. Fast forward to just about any weekend trip we make to Evansville, and you'll find us eating lunch here during that weekend. This Taco John's is a bit off the beaten path, being located away from massive centers of fast food overkill and is easy to miss, but is worth the effort. The cleanliness of this location is kind of hit-or-miss and on one visit the iced tea container in the dining room was dripping...and by "dripping" I mean a pretty steady stream, leaving a large iced tea puddle on the floor. Other times it's as clean as can be. Taco John's menu has a few surprises on it, as well as the normal compliment of Mexican food items. Yes, there are tacos and burritos, but their kicker is the tots...ahem...Potato Olés®. Offered as a side or as a part of another menu item, it's actually a nice addition to the normal Mexican fare. They're served VERY hot and are nicely seasoned. My favorite is the Taco Bravo®. A warm flour tortilla, refried beans, then an entire taco inside...and it is THE SHIZNAT. For the most part the staff at this location is friendly and helpful and the food delivery times are pretty speedy. We've never had a problem and the food has always been hot and accurately prepared. I wish there was a Taco John's closer to Louisville, but since we're in Evansville a few times a year I always have this to look forward to. read more

Did a online pick up order like normal. At 745 placed the order. Checked in doors were locked. They didn't unlock door til after 8am Then took them over 25 mins for my order. They didn't make coffee but told me they were out . Handed me cups to get my own drinks. One girl was on the phone the whole time. Then got my order and said everything is in there . Ordered a pickup order at 9:00- an hour before close. When I arrived 20 minutes after as instructed there was no customers, although I still had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes. Apparently they just threw together whatever they had because my order of two burritos came with one taco and one "boss burrito" that only included meat and onion. *see photo* I'm not one to normally write a review but having been a fast food worker for three years before this is ridiculous to see. read more

This Taco John's used to have fast / good service before the pandemic, but now it always takes forever to get your food. It took them 20 minutes to make me three tacos, and when I got them there was barely any meat or ingredients in each taco. My tacos where the size of Taco Bell's cheese roll ups. They didn't give me any napkins or ask if I wanted any sauces. That and some potatoe oles and a drink cost me $15. I could get three times as much food at Taco Bell. read more

I am so happy to find Taco John' location in Evansville. However, the employees seemed disorganized and also a little slow. No concept of hurrying to serve the customers, just a slow-paced crew. Feel free to judge this book by its cover. It looks like a Taco Bell rip off, it smells like a gas station bathroom. The grilled chicken burrito was full of pump-style nacho cheese. I literally retched about halfway through, and couldn't finish it. The potato sides are worse than cafeteria food. This place is an abomination...and, to qualify myself...I've eaten corn dogs, breaded pork tenderloins, breaded fish, and pizza from various gas stations over the years and thought the food was 1000% better than this place. Taco John's is a good Mexican fast food option. I generally get the Super Burrito and some potato oles, but the Grilled Burritos are good too. Since I'm a vegetarian, I usually sub beans for the beef, and the staff are all very accommodating, and always get my order right. Their sauces are nothing to write home about, the 'hot' is definitely not spicy at all, but I generally just use my own stash of hot sauces at home to spice things up a bit. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! MANAGER RUDE!!! I have been eating at Taco Johns for over 25 years here in Evansville. Not after today, Worst Customer Service Ever. I ordered 1 taco, and 2 burrito's and asked that nice lady taking my order if she could get me 3 cups of sauce from the back instead of the packages and she was like sure. I can hear the manager tell the employee when she said to add those cups of sauce to my bag, that theres no way I am gonna get them and too bad if i dont like it. Then the manager brings me the order with only one package of sauce. When i asked for the cups like she told me she was gonna get me He refused to give them to me, and said POLICY IS ONE PACKAGE PER TACO, and YOU ONLY GOT ONE TACO!! i was like how about the 2 burrito's i got. He said store POLICY one per taco only. I went on to tell him that this was crazy and unacceptable and that i eat here all the time and never heard of such a thing he went and got me 2 more packets and told me thats it. I love eating mexican food, and i usually put 4 to 5 packs of sauce on each of my items which i told him and he said he didnt care and that this was the policy. I eat Taco Johns and Taco Bell atleat 3-4 times per week, and never have i had this. I will never be back nor will i ever recommend this company ever again. I own businesses here in town, and we usually once a month order $150 worth of taco's to feed my crew one saturday a month as well. and I know if one of my managers or even a employee acted like this, to one of my customers, that would not be acceptable. We don't have this place close to our location but eat here when I'm by there. Use to be good food decent price and nice people. Today ordered the 6 pack and a pound requested 3 meat cheese 3 meat then ordered another 6 pack made normal. Went inside just to be sure order was correct but Nope! I've missed Taco John's ever since the one in Bloomington closed several years ago. My wife has great memories of going to the one in her dorm. Decided to grab a bite here to go down memory lane. Super authentic? Well, not exactly. But tasty. Taco and Tater Tots, what's not to like? This location is very clean and the staff was fast and friendly. This was the worst experience ever!! When we got here there were many problems and we should have left but we didn't. For starters, customers were already irate because they were waiting for longer than normal to get there food and the drink machine was out of half the beverages and overflowing!
