I went here a short a while ago and my experience was just horrible. The young girl taking my order had to redo it like 3 times and she had no idea what was in the food and also did not know they did not have certain items. I ordered a few Burritos with Beef and it took forever to get them. I bit into them and my flour tortilla was hard, and the burrito was dry. I went to the front to get help and the drink I ordered( which I never got) and the employees were either on their phones or just not there. I asked for a manager and was told there was no one on duty. I did not get my drink, replacement food, or a refund. I will never go back to this location. read more

One of the cleanest Taco John's I've ever been to. They are getting harder and harder to come by. The main reason we come is for the Ole's- yes, please. I've tried to make these at home, but they are not as good. So when we feel like splurging for a little cup of grease, this is where we head. Friendly counter service and they bring it out to you. Salsa bar- a small one, but they have a few salsas and some jalapenos cut up. Clean restaurant The rest of the tacos are what you expect for fast food. Just got my LAST taco Tuesday from here. Inflation is around 8% right now and they raised their taco tuesday price by 20%. Does it actually cost them $5 more to make 25 tacos for my family or are they using this as an excuse to increase profits? Did their employees get a 12% raise? I don't think so. In today's world where customer service has fallen out the window, it was a breath of fresh air visiting this Taco John's. The entire staff was super friendly - actually looked be enjoying their jobs. The dining room was super clean (even the restroom). The food was delicious. You could tell it was put together with care. The manager, Dawn, was extraordinarily pleasant with every person that came in the door. She was super respectful to her staff, as well. She even checked in with guests seated within the dining room. I'll be back, without doubt, and will be recommending to my friends. read more

Taco Johns is a disgrace to Mexican food! 8 bucks for the worst burrito I have ever had! This place makes Taco Bell look like a 5 star restaurant. What is up with these disgusting tater tots??? For a franchise store, I love this place! It is on the west side of the I-35 freeway near Menards and Home Depot. Years ago they were downtown Forest Lake, but this new place is much better. The new Santa Fe Burritos/bowls are great! I prefer the beef Santa Fe in the bowl with mild corn salsa and add lettuce and pico (no charge for these, but guacamole and others may be an up charge- just ask). I don't know what it is about Potato Ole's, but Mmm they are good. Too good. Plenty of seating to choose from or use the drive through. Very friendly managers and staff! Why would you choose McDonalds, BK or Wendy's when you have a choice like this? read more

By far the worst restaurant in Forest lake. Go through the drive-through no seasoning on the potato lays, give me a super burrito rather than a super being burrito that was a win now. No napkins and a teenager in with an attitude lady. No hot sauce either. I've been a fan of Taco Johns for years and, in fact, I used to frequent this one when it was located on the Main Street in Forest Lake years ago. However, I came back to MN for a family reunion this past August and the food here was horrible! The taco shells were stale, most of the lettuce was wilted and they put barely any cheese at all on the tacos. The potato ole's were overcooked and they skipped the taco sauce altogether. The restaurant was clean; I'll say that much. I am still a fan of Taco Johns; just not this particular one. They need some work. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had the girl working was extremely rude and did not greet us nor said thank or smiled not even one time. Our order was wrong and even when we did get our potato Oles they were pure salt ( literally tasted like salt ) we did not get our dippers and we found a piece of hair in my burrito .
