    Brownie sundae

We went here today for my birthday. They have a two eat lunch special which was plenty to eat. You also get one side, I chose fries, and a muffin. I got the roasted chicken and brisket for my meats. All was good. I also got a brownie sundae for being my birthday. Nice day!!

Walked in. Barely anyone dining in around dinner time. Order the feast for 2 at the counter. FYI they ask for tip BEFORE your meal. They bring food to your table and you never see staff again but that is ok. Most of the staff can be seen getting to-go orders prepared. Brisket good. Couple other items pretty good too. Pepsi products.

Sauce lovers rejoice at Famous Dave's! The meal started out with a little dish of house made chips and the encouragement to go ahead and taste all of the sauces. Yum!! Being from Canada (where vinegar on french fries is the norm) I couldn't get enough of the Georgia mustard on the seasoned wedge fries. So craveable! My pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw needed a little sauce and to me sweet and zesty was the right fit. Husband tried the burnt butts and sort of wished he had done regular brisket. He found them a bit too sweet and a bit too chewy.. almost Chinese food style. Not bad, just not quite a new favorite.

First visit and should not be my last. The Ribs and Brisket was outstanding. I've had my share of Q, just moved from North Carolina. And not sure I've had better. Cole slaw and beans were OK at best. Slaw reminded me of KFC, but not as good, IMO. The beans had very little taste. The Corn Muffins are to kill for. Service was both very friendly and fast. Need to try the burnt ends next time.

BBQ to go! Famous Dave's in Forest Lake has a Tuesday Special: $30 plus tax & tip for their Feast for 2 (plus buying a bevy). They've got an ingenious plastic bag for the FF2-just the thing to keep the large tray intact. I love their bbq ribs, brisket, beans, slaw, chicken, and muffins. The toast is too soggy to eat by the time we got home and there are too many fries...but those are the only drawbacks. Order online & grab some sauce & have a feast!

Love the online ordering option. We placed a to go order and it was ready very fast. The rib tips were okay. A little burnt, fatty and leathery tough. Their coleslaw is pretty tasty as are the garlic mashed. I just wish the tips would have been a little better. Chicken dinner was said to be good. The kids meal hamburger is quite big, but they forgot our chocolate milk. Oh well, May or may not return

Here's my review of the food we ordered: Cocktail of the hour - aka "Golden Hour" - 8.5/10 Reminded me of mulled cider, notes of honey, very refreshing Pork Belly Steam Buns - 8.1/10 Nice texture, very tender and flavorful Mini Banh Mi - 7/10 Not bad, would have preferred the more traditional pork filling Crispy Chicken- 8.7/10 This really surprised me, from appearance the chicken didn't look that special but it was well seasoned and the sweet chili glaze really stole the show and elevated this dish! Mirabelle Smash Burger - 8.9/10 I'm a sucker for smash burgers and this one did not disappoint. Nice crispy bun and a special mustard sauce that we enjoyed and a different flavor I don't usually have on my burger Sticky Ribs - 5/10 Unfortunately these were quite dry and was comparing to sticky ribs I had last week at CoV that were fall off the bone Overall good spot, service, atmosphere, and would be happy to return. Prices were also great for happy hour.

Very close to the lake(walking distance) There is a free parking ramp right behind the building. The decor of this place is cute! The details seem like they were well thought out! It feels upscale and cozy! I saw a video of this place and that was what originally drew me in! The seating here is also comfortable and not over crowded. Our server was ok. I saw so many raves about the "amazing service." She did refill our water glasses, which was good because I needed it with the salty steak! Obviously the most important piece is the food. We started with the popovers. The taste was fine but the texture was almost over done. The honey butter was lacking honey flavor. Cinnamon would have really elevated the butter! I got the steak frites and my sister got the spaghetti. My fries were average. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium all the way through! I was impressed. However, it was drowning in a VERY salty sauce! I had push a lot of it off. This should be served on the side, not covering the whole steak. My sister got the spaghetti, which our waitress explained was not a regular spaghetti. I feel she has probably had to do that multiple times and honestly, it should just be renamed. It's confusing for the customer. My sister did say she enjoyed the dish and that the shrimp was ere done well. For dessert I got "Aunties iced latte" which is their version of like an espresso martini. It was just ok. Would not get again. We got the carrot cake which was good!! But then they ruined it by putting fake whipped cream.... This is supposed to be a higher end restaurant and that made the dessert feel so cheap. We also got the creme brûlée. DO NOT ORDER THAT! It is an absolute waste of money! The sugar top was so thick we couldn't eat it! The dessert had the consistency of scrambled eggs, not a smooth custard. The taste seemed ok, but whoever made this does not know what they are doing! Overall, the food was not memorable and a lot of it was done poorly. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

We made a reservation in advance but didn't need to make it too far in advance which was nice. To start, we ordered some wine. It felt like a nicely curated selection and each of us enjoyed our wines. When we visited there weren't any cocktail options on the menu so that was the only thing that felt slightly missing, but they still had a nice selection of wine, beer, ciders, and sakes. The food was so so solid. To be a place that does veg options equal to/even better than the meat options is incredibly impressive to me. Everything we tried was well balanced flavor wise. We split the lettuce wraps which were a great shareable starter. I wish we had gotten the wontons because those looked great! We shared a tofu noodle salad, the tofu jicama sticky ribs, and the chicken sandwich. Each of these in my opinion are must orders. My favorite of these were the sticky ribs. Truly probably the best tofu dish I've ever had. Look forward to coming back-I would recommend this to anyone.

Now the good: the food was absolutely incredible. Easily a 10/10. Our group of five had a variety of dishes; the Marma burger, Rosa fettuccine, pesto penne, walleye, and Bang Bang shrimp - and every single one was excellent. The whipped feta and Brussels sprouts were standouts and a must-order. The atmosphere is beautiful and inviting, and our service was fantastic; attentive, friendly, and seamless. That said, the 90-minute table limit made the experience feel rushed. With five people ordering drinks, appetizers, and entrées, it's just not realistic to have a relaxed dinner in that timeframe. We didn't even have time for dessert before being asked to wrap up. What made it more frustrating was that tables of four across from us were seated before we arrived and were still comfortably enjoying their meals while we were being rushed out. Bottom line: amazing food and great service, but if you're looking for a leisurely, relaxing dinner - especially with a group - this may not be the best fit. Go for the food, just be prepared for the pace.

Overall: 3/5 This spot delivers solid burgers and chicken…read moresandwiches, but in a Twin Cities food scene packed with strong contenders, it doesn't quite rise above the crowd. The portions are generous, the ideas are there, and a few components really work-but the overall experience stops short of being especially memorable. It's the kind of place I'd be fine returning to if someone suggested it, but not one I'd find myself actively craving. Food [1.5/3] The food was good, just not distinctive enough to stand out among the plethora of burger and chicken sandwich options around the Twin Cities. The portions are definitely hearty, which helps make the meal feel satisfying, but several dishes could benefit from bolder seasoning and better balance. A little more acidity, sauce, or brightness would go a long way in cutting through the richness and giving each bite more personality. Bourbon Chicken Sandwich had a tasty glaze with a pronounced bourbon flavor and paired nicely with the pineapple slaw, which added a welcome hit of acidity and fruitiness against the heavier fried chicken. The bun was soft and lightly toasted, and the chicken portion was massive. That said, the chicken itself was under seasoned, leaving the unglazed bites fairly bland. The pineapple slaw was a great idea, but it was used so sparingly that its flavor only came through occasionally. The come back sauce was overlooked by the glaze. Burnt Chicken Sandwich followed a similar pattern: a very large piece of chicken, but not enough seasoning in the breading to carry the sandwich on its own. The herb mayo added some needed depth and helped elevate the flavor, but the layer was so thin that it got lost in larger bites. With a heavier hand on the sauce and seasoning, this could be much more compelling. When dipped into the side of aioli (cost extra), the flavor profiles were much better. Voodoo Smash Burger was overall underwhelming. The voodoo pepper sauce was easily the highlight and gave the burger a strong focal point, but the sautéed onions and comeback sauce were muted, and the smashed patty itself wasn't especially memorable. The first bite was decent, but the flavor didn't build or evolve, making the rest of the burger feel a bit flat. Service [0.5/1] The service was friendly, however, they were doing what seemed to be a midday clean and prep, which made the visit feel less polished. I also ordered a side of aioli for the fries and wasn't told there would be an additional charge. The cost itself wasn't a concern, but if a condiment carries an upcharge-especially one not listed on the menu-it should be mentioned before it shows up on the bill. Atmosphere/Ambiance [1/1] The space itself has a lot going for it. If you stop in for lunch on a Tuesday, you may catch some cleaning and prep activity, but setting that aside, the decor and ambiance are genuinely pleasant. It's cozy, well lit, and has a nicer feel than you might expect, especially for this part of the east metro. With a little more attention to the dining room experience and a stronger flavor punch in the food, this could be a much more memorable neighborhood stop.
