    Burnt Nachos -
    Neil T.

Terrible Experience at Huffman Taco King, first of all the nachos i had, was a very small portion, maybe a layer of chips, and than the chips were burnt to a crisp, nasty! The chimichanga had a 2" bone in it! Could have choked on that. This place has gone down hill over the past few years, prices have gone sky high and the service? Well each time I put a tip in the bowl, they see it, but never a "thank you" or "gracias". unappreciative. When I called to complain about my order tonight, the guy was like "oh" "ok". Didn't even apologize. You think I'm going back here?

As soon as I walked in to this Taco King, I was immediately hit with a scent of 'clean!' Off to a great start! The employees were extremely hospitable and friendly. They actually seemed genuinely happy to have guests coming in. That was refreshing and appreciated! The guy in the kitchen even called everyone "amigo" as if we were friends visiting his home. Our food came out extremely fast, and man oh man... when I tell you how good this food was!! The meat was moist and packed full of flavor as well as the beans, rice, and salsa. Great restaurant!!

    SOPE. Get this.

We needed a quick, fast and light lunch. This place in a little strip mall fit the bill perfectly. FINALLY - what I ordered was voted best of the table. Whenever I see a "sope" on a Mexican menu - I generally get it. This one was freshly fried - more crispy than the ones I usually get, and I topped it with Carnitas - which were surprisingly a little spicy. A perfect light lunch. Hubs got 2 soft tacos, a carne aside and a chili colorado I think. But what I thought looked delicious was the gringo tacos someone else ordered. (just basic taco bell style but better shells) The menu above the counter is a little scattered and a bit difficult to navigate, everyone wondered where the "sope" was listed on the menu - Hint, it is on the far right! Service was fast and efficient. Good selection of fountain sodas.

    Ordered extra sauces.

These guys work super hard. First time trying this location. They are super friendly. And the place is clean. And smells super good right when you walk in. I ordered a lot so we can have leftovers. Went home and had a super yummy meal. Thanks guys!

This is simply a great Mexican restaurant. We stopped by the other day after having not been here for a while. And wow, were we missing out. I opted for the carnitas special while the SO got two cheese enchiladas. Quick sidebar: one thing that should be noted is just how awesome their salsa bar is. The pico de gallo is arguably the greatest choice due to its simplicity. Don't skip out on the pickled jalapenos though. While a bit on the lean side, the carnitas packed a ton of flavor. Accented with a helping of raw onions, cilantro and a squeeze of lime, it's easy to see why Mexican food is one of the world's greatest cuisines. It certainly helps that the majority of these dishes are laden with cheese. With the nachos, it's clear they freshly fry their own chips. And I cannot emphasize enough just how richly flavorful everything was. I'm definitely throwing this up on my list of favorite places to eat in Anchorage (the list is very small).

Just as delicious as the other two Taco kings in town. They were super packed which is always a good sign and they had a great flow to get out the food fast. If you eat in they will bring the food to you which is awesome. We ordered a deluxe burrito, chimichanga and two tacos and they were the best. I love the chicken burritos and get it every time I come. The chimichanga outer shell was so crispy and tasty I wish I could eat (and have room for) both the burrito and chimichanga. My son has never had fried ice cream and we've never tried the fried tortilla with cinnamon sugar and honey so I ordered both. They were so delicious we will be back to have all of the same things very soon. Not bad on prices too, about $40 for 3 orders and two desserts. We will be back for sure very soon, it was also a plus the staff was so friendly and happy. Always a good sign when the cooks/cashiers are happy.

    Burrito deluxe yummy!

I had checked their menu online while waiting to be checked in at the hotel. We ordered a chowder flight, a bowl of the Sea Harvest chowder, a side of bread, a house salad with added salmon, and stuffed mushrooms. Since these were already pre cooked or starters & salad, our food came out quickly. All were very good. My only complaint was the added salmon for the salad was only available in 6oz. It was huge. I wish they would offer half that size. That 6oz portion was also $1 more than the price of the house salad. I did not see that on the menu; it may have been in fine print.

With our reservation, we were seated pretty quickly, and I thought the restaurant had a cute nautical feel inside. I ordered a cider, and Colby ordered a glass of wine. For our appetizer, we shared the chowder sampler, which, being from Cape Cod, I had never seen before. The presentation was super cute, with each chowder served in its own tiny mug. All three were delicious and tasted freshly made. For my meal, I ordered the fish & chips, which were very good. I was a little disappointed that one piece of fish was missing batter on one side, but overall everything was still quite tasty. The bathrooms were clean, and I found the staff to be generally friendly, aside from a few comments that we chose to let slide. Overall, this was a really nice spot for local seafood, and there is plenty of free parking outside. We would definitely recommend it if you're looking for fresh seafood while visiting Anchorage.

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

Nice quaint family run local restaurant. I would try the Alfredo next time assuming they make the sauce in house?
