    Chowder Flight @ $10 - Bread is $5
    Kimiko D.

Restaurant and staff were nice. Prices fair. Just not sure the hype is worthy. Tried the "flight" of chowders - they are really creamy and taste pretty much the same - what's inside the chowder is what separates each of them so just order a bowl of your favorite. Our server told us that the restaurant specials included fresh halibut and salmon flown in from Kodiak. However, the menu states the salmon as Copper River Red - there was no "special" so was the salmon from Kodiak or Copper River? Felt bad but our server didn't know. Ordered the "Seared Salmon" (@ $37) anyhow - way beyond seared - it was cooked well-done. Was good, but just not what we expected. Butter Poached Halibut @ $38 was tasty, but don't think it was "poached". I would come in for a bowl of chowder, and leave it at that. Need clarity on claims of where the fish is from, and menu descriptions.

It's a cute restaurant. The meal was excellent. We tried the flighting chowder, it was amazing to taste any three different kind of chowders. We love the Alaskan chowder the best with stronger flavor of the seafood, but they were all very delicious. The king crab legs were thick meat. Our server was great and let us know the freshest caught of the day, so we had salmon as well, it tasted were very fresh and tender. Very well made.

The chowders are very good! The clam chowder takes the win over the seafood chowder. As of today, August 2026 the pound of Alaskan king crab was $145. It was great. I would like to go back and try the halibut but unfortunately I won't be here long enough. They only have wine and draft beer. No liquor. We went on a Wednesday and you need reservations, the wait was over an hour and the bar is pretty small, I wouldn't plan to kill time at the bar while you wait, just make reservations online.

Came here for the chowder flights right after getting to town at lunch time. The wait staff were friendly but they also seemed brand new to their jobs and still getting used to doing it and interacting with customers. All three chowders that we got on the flight (didn't get the manhattan clam chowder) were good - they actually didn't taste that dissimilar. Prices were fair and the interior of the restaurant felt upscale.

First time in Alaska and I was really just passing through Anchorage to where I was going, but I'm so glad I stopped here. Solo traveling, but they had no hesitation seating me at a booth even with their steady flow of customers. Everyone I interacted with was very hospitable and I appreciated that they didn't rush me. My server gave me recommendations and was willing to check out all the filtered tea bag options for me (I declined and just asked if he could check if they had green tea). I loved the clam chowder and salmon bite plate! I finished both and I'm normally a full on half a plate kind of person. It wasn't that I wasn't full, it was just that delicious. There is a bit of an elevated feel to the space, but still like you can dine in with nice casual clothes. This will be a stop for me the next time I'm in town.

On vacation and came here our first night as it was local to where we stayed after a long flight. Gotta say some great comforting chowder after hardly eating all day. And I absolutely loved that they gave an option for a chowder flight so got to try more than one. The place was nice and open. Service was also very good. If you're in the area and want some nice warm chowder this is definitely a place to go.

Update: I can't believe I forgot to mention the chowders! A few of us at the table ordered the chowder sampler and they were all delicious but the seafood chowder was hands-down everyone's favorite. We are still thinking about it, dreaming about it, and drooling about it weeks later.

Stopped in for dinner. First off the food is for the most part very good. Service is also great. The downside is that it's overpriced. I had a small steak with bordelaise sauce, mashed potatoes, and a few scallops and it was just over $80. The steak was medium rare as requested but the rub was way too salty and the bordelaise made it worse. Too much of a good thing wasn't good. For the price I was pretty bummed out hence the 3 star rating. Chowder and the burger were also ordered by my party. Those were great. If you order the steak, pass on the sauce or request lighter seasoning. Calamari was very good. Overall it's a good dinner spot for a special occasion but definitely on the expensive end for what you get. Nice quiet dining area is a big plus compared to other similar spots in Anchorage.

Was in Anchorage visiting for work so a friend took me out to experience some Alaskan food. We came here and wow, a wonderful place. Greeted nicely by the staff, the server knew all their stuff, answering all our questions confidently. I went with the chowder flight and it was delicious. Paired in with a nice Pinot. On top of great company, it was a wonderful evening. Highly recommend and will come again.

Best Bone Marrow in the entire city! I love so many things about this place that it's hard to not mention everything. The atmosphere is creative, elegant yet the staff is so friendly and laid back. They're very professional and happy. That's important. I love their bone marrow the best and their many creative menu items set them apart from any restaurant in Anchorage. They have a phenomenal Rib Eye and their seafood dishes are delicious. I love that they offer a wide variety of wines to include French and Italian wines. Eat the chocolate cake. This is a true Spenard Gem!

Must try spicy shrimp pasta. With calibrian chilies.

Hands down a must try in Anchorage! We came here based on all the rave reviews Yelp! We were able to grab a last minute reservation which I recommend...we saw some walk ins and the wait was quite long given the popular turn out All the portions were quite generous so recommend coming and ready to share! Loved the clam chowder flight and each flavor was super distinct and delicious. The special sea bream I got was also fantastic and was a very heavy serving. Like other reviews, you can tell that the quality of ingredients is super fresh and they keep to seasonal offerings The staff was attentive and kind, and took the time to write down for us other restaurant recommendations to try while we were in town. Overall 5/5 on all levels!

The chef is trained from Le Cordon Bleu her husband our waiter and bartender told us. It's our first time here and we booked a reservation for Judy's mom to take us out as we do so many favors for her as she's 82 she offered dinner! A favorite beer of mine Broken Tooth Raspberry Wheat was ordered immediately! Mom got a glass of Prosecco and Judy Matanuska Blue Berry a favorite of hers. We started with the fantastic Sea Harvest chowder which had a medley of various seafoods in creamy chowder. I could taste the white pepper which is a mellow heat. Really Delicious! Then what to order as main. Did you know they bring in their sliced bread from Maine for their authentic Lobster Rolls? Okay that cinched it for me. 2 Packed Lobster rolls hit the table with a side salad where I got the Raspberry Vinaigrette as a dressing. Excellent meal! Excellent atmosphere too! We had reservations for 4:45 since mom's up there in age by the time we left the restaurant it was filling up nicely! Seems to be a great new restaurant in Spenard!

    Ambient Mini-Chandelier at table. Cute!

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

Nice quaint family run local restaurant. I would try the Alfredo next time assuming they make the sauce in house?
