What an awesome establishment! Taco Maya has locations all over; I've been to the Bloomingdale and Rosemont locations and I loved both. First of all the staff here is amazing. Beyond welcoming, hospitable, and hard working. They're so polite and quick! The food is on a whole other level. The chicken tinga tacos, samosa tacos, churros, and loaded fries were phenomenal. I'm still thinking about the fries. One thing I love about this place is it's not just Mexican but also a mix of Indian and American food. Truly the perfect spot for vegetarians, too! The salsa bar is an amazing feature, as well. You already know I'll be back!

Taco Maya combines flavorful Mexican food as well as fusion food items from other cultures. Loved the salsa bar offering a variety of red and green salsas. I loved the jalapeno creme..rich and creamy with just the right amount of heat. We shared their Fries A La Mexicana which was their take of nachos except they used waffle fries. Topped with queso,ico de Gallo,jalapenos,guac and sour creme. They offer over 27 different types of tacos! We tried their Chicken Tinga and Veggie Fiesta tacos. Both were fantastic. Served with rice and refried beans. Of course for dessert you have to try their homemade churros topped with caramel and chocolate sauce...yummy. They offer a variety of Margaritas mixed with their own FINO tequila. The House Margarita is delicious and refreshing. I will definitely go back as I have 25 more tacos to try!

Here's what I do when dinner time dilemma hits - I go to Yelp and see what's around. And that's exactly how I found Taco Maya. One word - Delicious!! We were going to order 3 separate American style ground beef tacos on corn tortillas, but the friendly cashier at the counter suggested we order the 3 taco plate for just $6 more you also get rice and beans. Great idea! We also placed an order of churros for dessert. The food all tasted so fresh!! Great flavor and textures. The taco plate was great as was the dessert. The Churros were crunchy when you took a bite and it came with a caramel and a chocolate sauce for dipping. They were both good and if I had to pick a favorite, this chocoholic surprisingly chose the caramel! I would definitely come back next time I'm in town.

It was an extremely humid day. Why not come inside for some tacos? This was my first visit to a Taco Maya. The front of the restaurant is average size, and then they have a back room to hold private events. The bathrooms are single stall, so you may have to wait for them to be available. Here's what I had: Chips and salsa Tacos (chicken and vegetarian), refried beans, and rice Mexican fries (waffle) Churros Guava margarita They had multiple types of salsa. My favorite was the Verde. Overall, my favorite dish was the churros. I was in the back event room, and it did get pretty humid. The tables were close, and it felt we were on top of each other sometimes. The restaurant staff are nice. The head chef puts a lot of passion into his recipes.

Went to Taco Maya for the first time last night and the food and vibe was amazing. The chicken tinga taco is so delicious! It's so hard to get tinga right and this place def met my tinga expectations lol For food/drinks: 10/10 -fries a la mexicana: LOVED that they use waffle fries instead of the normal chips for this! Similar to loaded nachos but with fries - super delicious 9/10 - tinga taco: spices were so delicious, really loved it 8/10 - vegetarian fiesta taco: I've never had a vegetarian taco before and surprisingly I didn't "miss" the meat 10/10 - Barbie margarita: was not overly sweet and tasted very fresh! You can taste a difference in their tequila (which one of the owners supplies from her tequila business) and it def elevated the drink IMO 9/10 - churros with caramel and chocolate sauce: not overly sweet and tasted very very fresh! Really loved this dessert The owners and staff and very close and like family and you can definitely see that in how they interact together and make the place so welcoming. Shout out to Patricio for the amazing family recipes and bringing his culture in the kitchen. Food is made with love and you can feel it! So happy I tried out this place and I hope to be back soon to try more of the 27 different tacos they offer.

I have never heard of Taco Maya but had the opportunity to try their food tonight and man am I shook at how yummy their food is. It is in a little strip mall with tons of parking outside which is always a plus. You could never have known at how big the place actually is by looking at the outside. They have a party room in the back that can accomodate quite a bit of people where you can have baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays and even office events. I tried the watermelon margarita with tajin and it was pretty darn good and you can certainly taste the tequila. THEIR own brand of tequila which was quite smooth! Definitely a must try. I wish I ordered a straight shot of their own tequila to REALLY taste the alcohol. Always next time. Waffle fries with queso and guac was pretty delicious for an appetizer. Vegetarian taco in flour tortilla was BOMB! Chicken taco in corn tortilla was just ok. A bit dry on both the chicken and the corn tortilla but maybe it's just me since my mind already made up that the vegetarian taco was way better already. Churros....ahhhhh.....I am biased but who doesn't love a warm, fresh, crunchy, sugar coated, with whipped cream drizzled in caramel and chocolate churros. Rice was pretty yummy too but I am Chinese so I LOVE RICE! The menu is just unbelievable! 27 different varieties of tacos. TWENTY SEVEN!!! Anything and everything you can think of. Imma have to come back multiple times just to try them all!

Great quick service! Got the 9.99 3 taco rice and bean special . Tacos are so good and the corn tortillas are soft. I like the salsa bar they have and the one they bring to the table is not chunky it's smooth but addicting

Stopped in for a quick dinner. Place was not too packed. Service was also nice and the quality of the food was great. They were having a deal of buy 2 get the 3rd taco free, so I got two grilled chicken tacos and 1 shrimp tempura taco. As well as a side of rice. Everything was cooked to order. Not your normal taco joint. This is very different, and you may notice when you walk in. I got a chance to meet the owner(s) of Taco Maya and realized the cultural diversity of this establishment. It's tacos so you expect Mexico/Mexican to be the culture, but it has Indian influence as well. You may notice that by seeing the 27 different tacos on the menu and realizing that some aren't really Mexican tacos. They have samosa and empanada tacos as well.... giving it that fusion flavor. There's a variety of salsa to try....so it's not just 1 salsa with your chips. The food is very good and with such a large selection I'll have to go back for more. One of the owners also is a co-owner of Fina Tequila. I would consider this to be a sipping tequila. They do have margaritas which are good and made with real juice, and they use Fina Tequila. I mention this because sipping tequila doesn't have that strong alcohol taste that makes you shake your head. When you get your margarita you may wonder if there's any tequila at all, but most likely if you don't taste it that's because of the better quality tequila. Lastly, they do have a party room in the back that you can book for parties or events. You would never realize an extra room was back there.

I love the variety this place provides to vegetarians. I ordered the paneer burrito and an assortment of tacos. I got the Chili Cauliflower, Falafel, and paneer tacos and I highly recommend all of them. I think the new Chili Cauliflower flavor was one of the highlights of this meal and I plan to go again soon! Check this place out for a great Mexican food experience!

I haven't really eaten at this restaurant but I was told it was really good. I saw that they had fried ice cream and I tried it already at a different location and not many places have it , so I came to this location... it's NOT fried ice cream. It's ice cream covered in Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal.

Overall (A) This place is really good. Try it. The fusion selections are the best Service (B+) So I was there for an Elite event and I think they were trying there best but were having a tough time keeping up. For both the elite event and for the patrons up front it was taking upwards of 20 minutes between plates of food at the same table. So someone would be done eating before another even got their food...at the same table. Made for awkwardness at the event and some slightly unhappy patrons up front. With some training for situations like these things will be fine. But Everyone is super friendly and nice. They just needed a few more helping hands to make the food. All the staff is extremely friendly and nice. I'm sure if it wasn't an Elite event night then they would have been able to provide "A" or "A+" service. Value (A) It's a good deal. I wish I lived closer so I could take advantage of the $9.99 lunch special - three tacos, rice and beans. Since it was an event my meal was free. But we have been there other times and it's a good value. Did end up buying the awesome Fried Ice Cream which is probably meant to be shared by 3-4 individuals for $7 - great value Quality (A) It's really good. Get the Fries Mexicana when you go for appetizers - it's a unique dish and a crowd favorite. Safe bet for sharing. I am a meat eater and usually only pick meat items on the menu - but the veggie items are really good here - especially the veggie fest taco. Order it - even if you are a meat person. The chicken tinga taco was also really good. The fried ice cream is a must have. Order it! You won't regret it. It's really really really good. Pro Tip - try items that are not what you can get at mainstream or authentic Mexican places. The real unlock for Taco Mayo is the ability to create fusion tastes - those are the best tacos.

Was driving around with my wife looking for a good taco spot. Taco Maya popped up on our search, the reviews were good so we decided to check it out & we are so glad we did! I tried the steak, shrimp and al pastor tacos -they were all delicious! Steak was by far my favorite, all the food was SO good, tasty and fresh! They even have a salsa bar for you to choose from. My wife ordered the torts and absolutely loved it! They even have great tasting horchata. I would most definitely have to agree with all the positive reviews listed on here, so if you are in the area and looking for some A1 Mexican food -you want to give Taco Maya a try. I've eaten here a lot since they opened, and for awhile, they were inconsistent. Not anymore! I was getting delivery for the first time, and called, but was told that I needed to order online/app. I was concerned because I add/delete things to my order, but Nihar (whom I spoke w/) told me to tell him what specifics I needed and he would make sure my order was correct. Well, Nihar TOOK CARE of every detail I asked for. My order was complete, down to the salsas I asked for. He was GREAT! This place has some interesting tacos but the problem is overall the consistency is just not there. The meats range from dry and terrible to tender and moist in some case depending on the day. It's just very difficult to figure out what kind of quality you are going to get. read more

First off I wish I could give more than 5 stars this place was amazing. My wife and I just went here for the first time and we were blown away. First the service was AMAZING Adit was Awesome he went over the menu with us and very helpful and great to talk to. I had the signature taco which was so flavorful and delicious. I also had the Ribeye Steak taco which was awesome as well. The Guac Salsa might have been one of the best salsas I've ever eaten. The menu is full of great choices. Really enjoyed our midweek meal out at this new place with a close friend and my family. I am a vegetarian and so it was so refreshing to have more than just one choice of vegetarian tacos to choose from. To be honest, I had all three. My husband liked his meat tacos and fish tacos too. Came tonight with my mom. I ordered steak tacos- Mexican style which is cilantro, onion and lime. They were delicious. Good amount of steak. My mom got a steak quesadilla. She said it was good. We went to Taco Maya for lunch on a Monday. They had both drink and dessert specials that day, $4 margaritas and $3 fried ice cream. The fried ice cream was unreal good (see picture below). I had the steak taco dinner with Mexican styled tacos. They offer both American and Mexican style, which is explained on the menu. My boyfriend had a shrimp taco and chicken burrito and he raves about the shrimp taco. The inside is trendy, however the restaurant is in a strip mall which is a poor location. Although it is a counter restaurant, the food is equivalent of a full service restaurant and the drink menu makes up for that too! The cocktails and beer are both moderately priced and they have an up-incoming tequila, Fino, on the shelf. Additionally, they have a salsa bar to better the taco experience for every customer. 10/10 recommend, I just wish the location was more opportune. read more

Yummy tacos!! I had the paneer, ribeye steak, and carnitas tacos. The ribeye and carnitas were my favorite of the three I had because they had juicy meats and delicious flavors. I liked the paneer one too but liked the other two I had more. There are a variety of salsas to choose from. I tried the green salsa, avocado green salsa and the smooth green jalepeno salsa. All had great heat and left you wanting more. Personally, I love spicy food and these were all great! Chips and salsa are free when dining in so I ordered queso blanco as well which was super tasty! Best tacos in the area!!! There is such a huge variety of tacos. There was also a salsa bar, again with lots of variety- from mild to hot. Their house margaritas were a little salty, but the fruit blend was very unique. My boyfriend who is picky about Mexican tried the el pastor and agreed that it was the best he even had. He even decided toe next day to try and copy the recipe. I can't wait to go back. 10/10 recommend. Free refills on the horchata was also a plus! read more

This place offers some of the absolute best tacos I have ever had. I travel frequently for work and am not from the area, tacos sounded good and I wasn't disappointed. I tried the Chingon taco and the Signature tacos. Hands down, best tacos I've ever had. Filling and full of flavor. Queso dip was great as well. 10/10 highly recommend this place. read more

I swear, less than 2 minutes later came a small bowl of soup (not expected, but ok) - then less than 5 minutes after ordering the main? Came the main! The beans and rice were nice; it came with a bit of shredded lettuce- and the 3 enchiladas were not bad. At all. Definitely satisfied my craving for Mexican food! Why the demerits? The holy grail of any restaurant is always the service. Once I completed the mains, the busboy quickly took the dishes off the table. And then I waited. And waited. I flagged down a busboy and asked for my check- he said he'd flag down my waitress. And then I waited. After 15 minutes, I bagged it. I put on my jacket and went to the host desk and complained. Though I was able to pay at the front desk, why did I have to wait? What was so important on a not-so-busy Saturday night that meant I had to wait for my bill? Just awful, La Hacienda. I don't mind waiting a few minutes (most restaurants have this awful habit of making diners wait too long for their bills anyway, right?). But 15 minutes? And even after I pointed this out I still waited to no avail? No diner should ever be asked to wait until they "got around to it". Would I come again? Naw. Sorry, but even though the early part of the meal was great and I was speed-served the food? The finish killed it for me.

My wife and I stayed at Half Moon Bay in November and December. We ate 3 separate meals at Taco Maya located in the pueblo just a block north off the main street as you go up the hill. We have stayed in North Akumal 4 of the past 5 years and always hit Taco Maya a few times while there. This is a family run business that we have always found to be very friendly towards customers, whether local to the pueblo or tourists like us. They have expanded their menu this past year and also now include breakfast in their business hours . While I usually order their pork tacos, I tried the bacon wrapped burrito on one occasion which was delicious and definitely a full meal. We recommend Taco Maya if you are hungry and are venturing over to the pueblo in Akumal. read more

The service at this restaurant was absolutely exceptional. As soon as we walked in the door me and 16 other people were greeted with absolute excellent hospitality and service. Even after only two of us ordered food the workers offered us free chips and salsa and served us 8 whole baskets of tortilla chips. The churros I ordered were absolutely divine and satisfied me and 4 other people. The churros and chips looked and tasted amazing and have never disappointed me. And they even went the extra mile by offering to take a picture of our group for us. In conclusion we will be coming back for semi annual grub sessions. read more

Ordered 3 taco meal online - food was actually pretty good, meat all cooked well and flavorful. Definitely better than most other Mexican spots in the area. However, I am one of those people who LOVES salsa with my tacos - and they didn't give me any, which I thought was standard practice for Mexican restaurants. There wasn't even an option in Doordash to add any, nor do they allow special requests..... also the lime wedge that came was super thin and horrible quality. Try the Falafel taco- it's on their specials menu- very good- it's properly spiced and tastes great like true fusion Mexican food. They have good food. I prefer the burritos & nachos over then tacos. It use to be called Taco Madre but changed it 1 month after they opened. not sure to why but they had very bad customer service when they first opened. We tried getting food made for us, 100 tacos for our business on the same block. They claimed that might be too much for them so I never thought of getting anything that scale with them. read more

So many taco places to choose from! So, we tried this place the other day. Gotta say this is our go-to for Mexican food! Generous portions, good cuts of meat, rice was not a clump or overcooked. The best part, great price for good food as opposed to a great price, bad food. read more

Excellent veggie tacos and terrific service. The sitting area was very clean and I loved the decor. Great ambiance music. I was in for an early lunch, the chef came a delivered my tacos and chatted a second. Great place. Will be back to check out the late night scene. read more

The food is delicious I love coming to eat here. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cool vibes. The best part of course is the tacos, I always get the steak tacos. Also the fresh waters that are offered here are godly amazing. read more

The ground beef tacos were alright, but a bit salty. There was a lot of cheese, which made it rich. The place was quiet, good for solo dining. Staff weren't super friendly but not rude either. Just an average meal. read more

Delicious and fast. Steak burrito is delicious. And they have a salsa bar, which gives me the perfect amount of spice. Didn't really have a chance to fully enjoy as I was in a rush. But definitely will be back read more

He said it was really good and he would order again. I ordered two of the veggie tacos. I wanted them Mexican style with no tomatoes and I wanted to make sure put slices of avocado on them as well. They came topped with rice, lettuce and some cream. They were very delicious. Exactly what I was expecting.
