this place is SO good. if you have the time, I definitely recommend dining in here. very peaceful and the food is amazing. everything tastes homemade down to the salsa. service was also quick! also convenient that the michocana is next door.

Food came out quick and tasted great. Salsas were spicy and savory. Highly recommend coming here and would come again!

Just to start in case you don't know this is a cash only business so bring the green (they have an ATM inside in case). My son and I came in for lunch today, they have a very small seating area out front, good for maybe four people total. I ordered a carne asada wet burrito and my son got the Gringa which is like a quesadilla with carnitas and pineapple. We also got a couple of sodas there out of the case in a bottles. All in all pretty, good the wet burrito was REALLY WET, a lot of sauce, but tasty none the less. For the both of us with the bottle drinks and tax it was just over $23 so pretty good price for a very filling lunch.

This place is good, it's kind of a ghost town but reasonable pricing and good quality.

Carne asada fries and burrito are distasteful, unsatisfying, plain and boring. Wouldn't go back even If they paid me.

I'm always on the lookout for good al pastor tacos. This place is above average and the best I've found in Santa Clarita.

I bookmarked this restaurant YEARS ago and since then, Yelp buddies have been adding their recs,…read morebut I kept driving by saying, 'Oooone day...'. Today was FINIALLY the mañana I've been promising myself! Shout outs to Joe Z and Jennifer E! Hubs and I came in on the Friday of Valentine's Day for some HHour nibbles and - if I'm being honest - this gal REALLY wanted a margarita. We were greeted and seated immediately, smiling faces all around. Lovely, fresh red roses on each table and Valentine themed balloons throughout the restaurant made this venture seem extra special. Lily, our beyond delightful server, approached with a welcoming 'Hola, Mama, what can I get you to drink?' When I said I needed a margarita, simple, but good, she recommended the 24oz Mega Margarita, a great price at the regular $20, but a bargain at HHour $16! Perfecto! Rocks, no salt, perfectly refreshing and delicious. Now, they state "Traditional Mexican Cuisine as well as our specialty Mariscos" on their website and, honestly, I think I should have gone for a seafood dish. I kept saying 'try something different' in my head as I perused the menu, so I tried Tacos Dorados con Carne and chose chicken as my meat. I'm sure this was very authentic. But, aside from French fries, I'm not much of a potato gal, and I don't care for tacos - what was I thinking?!?! I blame the margarita! LOL The chicken was seasoned well and the presentation was beautiful. It's not fair to judge the dish on my lameness to order something I wouldn't know anything about, so ignore my ignorance and, if you like the idea of whipped potato stuffed into fried tacos topped with cabbage, seasoned(and a gorgeous shade of pickled pink!) onions and meat, go for it! Now, Hubs, ever the compass of steady and unwavering culinary journeying, went with the Asada Quesadilla and was VERY HAPPY with his choice. From his dish I stole his way too complex (for him) and fabulously fresh guac. By the end we were satisfied, I held off ordering a second 24oz Marg, Hubs poured what was left of me into the car and we headed home. But I have since been thinking about the great service, comfortable ambiance, the way the staff treated each guest as if they were family walking into their home, our generous plates of food, that margarita and how conveniently located Las Originales is for us and I KNOW we will return! I think next time I'll try a Guadalajara inspired, tomato sauce soaked Torta with grilled ham, shredded pork, soft cheese and other delicious "stuffs". THAT should pair most excellently with another Mega Margarita. Cheers! "CC"

My current favorite is the chicken mole. It's nice to find somebody who really puts their heart and soul into making a good mole. Nutty and chocolatey undertones give way to a nice subtle spice. Absolute perfection. Another favorite is the shrimp enchiladas. The shrimp were incredible and tasted like wild shrimp. I asked the owner what type of shrimp they use and sure enough, they use wild caught shrimp. I chatted with the owner a bit and she is super passionate about her food. They do have their hard liquor license. The skinny cucumber margarita is superb. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Santa Clarita Valley.

They are a bit out of our way, and while good, nothing there was so spectacular that I would make a special trip for it, but it was good. They are located in a strip mall location, very non-descript, and the build out is basic but clean. My daughter had described it as a "hole in the wall, but good food" restaurant. That's pretty accurate. We were greeted immediately and in a very friendly manner as soon as we entered. It seemed slow for a Friday night, but we were on the early side. We were seated at a table and brought water, chips and salsa right away. The salsa is thin and spicy, and had a good tasted to it. My wife ordered a Cadillac margarita, and I ordered a regular. The drinks were a generous pour, and they didn't scrimp on the tequila. The Grand Marnier was brought in a shot glass. Both my wife and I enjoyed our drinks. My chile relleno combo was very good, some of the biggest freakin' chiles I've seen. They tasted great and were served piping hot with rice and beans. We were visited several times by ownership. The service was top rate and very friendly. So...not enough for me to return, but that's only because of distance from our house. We have our usual place 3 minutes away, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a first choice for you.

Plates here all are priced around $16-$20 a plate, with lots of different traditional flavors, and a host of specialty drinks with a full bar. It's not huge here, but it's one of the few bars in the area, and I would probably make it a staple given the cantinas in Newhall. I tried their sopes, which was 1 for $9.99 and was so friggin huge(I didn't even finish it), and the flavors were dialed in. Fresh and robust ingredients. Salsa was enjoyable too. I was initially craving a Michelada, which was what brought me here, and they happened to have the "Michelada Loka" which was pretty epic for $20. A Modelo and a Corona Michelada, upside down, in a large glass, adorned with shrimp, tajin, and chamoy. Totally my style, and reminds me of "Dos Pistolas" from "Los Originales" down the street, but I digress. I loved the drink but it was a bit pricey, but will definitely be back for it again. All in all, worth the $30 something bucks, I will be back, and if I was in my 20s I'd be here weekly. You should've try it if Hispanic bars are your thing. To each his own. Cheers'
