Cabeza, carne asada, and al pastor.

Stopped by El Pariente Mexican Food before a Frozen rehearsal since I needed a quick energy boost. It's a small spot, but Miguel made the experience--super friendly and welcoming. He offered samples of all the meats, which I really appreciated. After trying everything, I went with his recommendations: cabeza, carne asada, and al pastor. Great choices--all three tacos were delicious. They came with cucumber slices and a lemon wedge, and I went with the spicy sauce which had a solid kick, just how I like it. At $3 per taco, it felt like a great value. I asked about Taco Tuesday specials, but he mentioned they keep prices low every day instead. Overall, really good experience. I'll definitely be back--next time to try the burrito.

Looking for some authentic Mexican food for take out and enjoy in our hotel. Yelp had great reviews so curious what the fuss was about. The restaurant was small and not much selections on the menu. So if you want to order combo plates, they don't have em. We ordered a few tacos and burritos with carnitas. I gotta say the taste was really good. The burrito was big compared to a super burrito. The tacos were neatly prepared and I enjoyed every bite. I wouldn't say this is the best Mexican food, but the portion was well worth the price.

Pretty good little spot. Pastor was fresh & salsas were succulent. Will definitely be back!

Delicious street tacos. $2.50/each. Chicken was flavorful on the pollo taco. Carne asada was well seasoned. Salsa was spicy. Got the kids without salsa, which worked for them. Authentic. Fast. Friendly. No frills.

    Tacos de cabeza

Seriously so good!! As someone who grew up in Mexico and missed the street tacos of my hometown, these were absolutely spot on (makes sense since we're from neighboring towns). Seriously give them a try you will not be disappointed. The cabeza, crispy lengua and pastor are to die for!! And that red salsa!!!! Ufff my mouth is on fire just how I want it

This has to be my favorite, go-to taco spot in SCV. The staff is super friendly and the food is always fresh. I usually only order tacos when I go but they have a variety of options. I like to get their asada, chorizo, tripas (beef intestine) and cabeza (head meat). Try to bring cash, if you pay with card there is a $0.50 surcharge !

As soon as I entered I noticed it was a very hole in the wall type pace. There was line to order (same line for phone orders) so that's a good sign right? What we ordered: Tacos: Lengua Pastor Cabeza Carne asada burrito Horchata I'd come back to order everything again except for the lengua tacos, those were a little underwhelming. Cabeza, pastor and carne asada I'd order again. Horchata drink probably not, I've had better.

First walking in I knew I was about to get some authentic Mexican food. The place was not much to look at but the smell was great! Bestt tacos so flavorful!! I got the pollo (chicken) tacos which came w choice of salsa and some lemon/lime and cucumbers. I finished them so quickly, they were so good! Everything is also super cheap, really great prices for the quantity and their horchata was perfect, sweet but not too sweet and really smooth. TLDR: satisfying super yummy meal, great horchata, great prices, friendly service, no complaints tbh

Our server, Leo, was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable from the start. My current favorite is the chicken mole. It's nice to find somebody who really puts their heart and soul into making a good mole. Nutty and chocolatey undertones give way to a nice subtle spice. Absolute perfection. Another favorite is the shrimp enchiladas. The shrimp were incredible and tasted like wild shrimp. I asked the owner what type of shrimp they use and sure enough, they use wild caught shrimp. I chatted with the owner a bit and she is super passionate about her food. They do have their hard liquor license. The skinny cucumber margarita is superb. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Santa Clarita Valley.

It's time for Taco Tuesday!…read more Every week, my wife and I decided to try a different place for Taco Tuesday. Last night I decided to try El Pato Mexican on Lyons Avenue in Newhall based off searching for Taco Tuesday. Even though my search showed that El Pato had Taco Tuesday, they did not. I almost left. However, I was committed and in search for the best Tuesday Tacos. Therefore, I ordered 6 Carne Asada street style tacos. The young lady at the register told me they put a few pinto beans on the taco, is that okay? I found out in Central Mexico (Mexico City) and parts of the north, I.e., Sonora & Chihuahua Mexico, this is part of the culture. The southern regions they tend to use black beans. Anyway, the young lady told me that they use the full size corn tortillas when in fact, they use the street style corn tortillas. Two out of my 4 tacos were loaded and the other two were very small and fatty. The first two were really tasty though. At $3.89 a piece plus tax = $4.27, it is way over priced for the value for a street taco. They even charge $11 for a basic Bean N Cheese Burrito. This is my ranking: Taste - *** Price/value - ** Service - ***** Cleanliness - **** Atmosphere - **** Respectfully, Taco man Wedo!

We all ended up ordering chilaquiles--one plate with green sauce and the other two with red sauce--and got our eggs over easy. Let me just say: these were hands down some of the best chilaquiles we've had in the area. The flavor, texture, and portion sizes were all top notch. I also loved that they have an open salsa bar along with complimentary chips for every order. Little touches like that really make the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating inside, and they have a restroom located in the back, which is always convenient when dining with kids. The ambiance is very casual and laid back, making it an easy and comfortable brunch spot. We'll absolutely be coming back again soon!

Plates here all are priced around $16-$20 a plate, with lots of different traditional flavors, and a host of specialty drinks with a full bar. It's not huge here, but it's one of the few bars in the area, and I would probably make it a staple given the cantinas in Newhall. I tried their sopes, which was 1 for $9.99 and was so friggin huge(I didn't even finish it), and the flavors were dialed in. Fresh and robust ingredients. Salsa was enjoyable too. I was initially craving a Michelada, which was what brought me here, and they happened to have the "Michelada Loka" which was pretty epic for $20. A Modelo and a Corona Michelada, upside down, in a large glass, adorned with shrimp, tajin, and chamoy. Totally my style, and reminds me of "Dos Pistolas" from "Los Originales" down the street, but I digress. I loved the drink but it was a bit pricey, but will definitely be back for it again. All in all, worth the $30 something bucks, I will be back, and if I was in my 20s I'd be here weekly. You should've try it if Hispanic bars are your thing. To each his own. Cheers'
