I eat at this location often and never rate it. I always complain about the lack of good Mexican restaurants in Santa Clarita but this place should be recognized. Not only is the food good, they have a good selection of tequila and the drinks are also on point.

Love this family run restaurant! Food is consistently delicious for the last 25 years, great margaritas, and the portions are massive!! Love the authentic flavors, super friendly staff and great vibes. Feels like a more upscale location, simply lot, red comfortable booths, and great for a date night, or coke with friends and family! You can definitely share plates, make sure to order the guacamole and a margarita the size of your head! The torta is the best I've ever had, cheesy, generous meat, and all the right elements. Parking in front and in the back available. Please support this local gem!

I have been coming here for over 25 years, it was the only place in town that served Colombian food !! Take it From a Colombian!! The empanadas and Plato montañero where amazing!!, the last time I was here empty were no longer on the Menu!!! Sad News !!!!! But dinner was good . Today my Colombian Plato Montañero, was not Good My rice was Fishy with vegetables!!not white rice, Colombian we only eat white rice, The" AREPA" tasted like tamale filling not the unusual arepa The plátano frito and the chicharrón And fried egg Was the only authentic part, Either bring a chef that knows Colombian food or get it off The menu:( The margaritas are awesome!! The service is great !! This Guys Have Been here since I've been coming here! I will stick With Mexican food Next time Please don't Degrade Colombian food like This!!'

My current favorite is the chicken mole. It's nice to find somebody who really puts their heart and soul into making a good mole. Nutty and chocolatey undertones give way to a nice subtle spice. Absolute perfection. Another favorite is the shrimp enchiladas. The shrimp were incredible and tasted like wild shrimp. I asked the owner what type of shrimp they use and sure enough, they use wild caught shrimp. I chatted with the owner a bit and she is super passionate about her food. They do have their hard liquor license. The skinny cucumber margarita is superb. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Santa Clarita Valley.

But, When I ordered burrito, I was asked if I wanted it ala carte and I said yes. But, my burrito ala carte, was the smallest burrito I've seen yet and I eat a lot of burritos. And it was expensive. (Only 2.00 less for ala carte..would have been nice to have been told that and encouraged to just get the added beans and rice for 2.00 more). Did they give me kids burrito? If not, what size would kid burrito be? (Like a taquito size ?) Also, Piano player was playing, which normally I would be super happy about, but it was kinda cheesy with covers and background music playing. At times we felt we were on Disneyland ride with the music playing. This place has a lot of potential. Space is cool with patio. If we do come back, I won't sit inside or order my favorite, a burrito. I would try something different...but pricey

It's time for Taco Tuesday!…read more Every week, my wife and I decided to try a different place for Taco Tuesday. Last night I decided to try El Pato Mexican on Lyons Avenue in Newhall based off searching for Taco Tuesday. Even though my search showed that El Pato had Taco Tuesday, they did not. I almost left. However, I was committed and in search for the best Tuesday Tacos. Therefore, I ordered 6 Carne Asada street style tacos. The young lady at the register told me they put a few pinto beans on the taco, is that okay? I found out in Central Mexico (Mexico City) and parts of the north, I.e., Sonora & Chihuahua Mexico, this is part of the culture. The southern regions they tend to use black beans. Anyway, the young lady told me that they use the full size corn tortillas when in fact, they use the street style corn tortillas. Two out of my 4 tacos were loaded and the other two were very small and fatty. The first two were really tasty though. At $3.89 a piece plus tax = $4.27, it is way over priced for the value for a street taco. They even charge $11 for a basic Bean N Cheese Burrito. This is my ranking: Taste - *** Price/value - ** Service - ***** Cleanliness - **** Atmosphere - **** Respectfully, Taco man Wedo!

The place already had great reviews, so we figured we had to give it a try. I'm so glad we did! The gentleman who took our order was incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating from the moment we walked in. I also appreciated that they offer slightly lower pricing if you pay with cash. We all ended up ordering chilaquiles--one plate with green sauce and the other two with red sauce--and got our eggs over easy. Let me just say: these were hands down some of the best chilaquiles we've had in the area. The flavor, texture, and portion sizes were all top notch. I also loved that they have an open salsa bar along with complimentary chips for every order. Little touches like that really make the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating inside, and they have a restroom located in the back, which is always convenient when dining with kids. The ambiance is very casual and laid back, making it an easy and comfortable brunch spot. We'll absolutely be coming back again soon!

Plates here all are priced around $16-$20 a plate, with lots of different traditional flavors, and a host of specialty drinks with a full bar. It's not huge here, but it's one of the few bars in the area, and I would probably make it a staple given the cantinas in Newhall. I tried their sopes, which was 1 for $9.99 and was so friggin huge(I didn't even finish it), and the flavors were dialed in. Fresh and robust ingredients. Salsa was enjoyable too. I was initially craving a Michelada, which was what brought me here, and they happened to have the "Michelada Loka" which was pretty epic for $20. A Modelo and a Corona Michelada, upside down, in a large glass, adorned with shrimp, tajin, and chamoy. Totally my style, and reminds me of "Dos Pistolas" from "Los Originales" down the street, but I digress. I loved the drink but it was a bit pricey, but will definitely be back for it again. All in all, worth the $30 something bucks, I will be back, and if I was in my 20s I'd be here weekly. You should've try it if Hispanic bars are your thing. To each his own. Cheers'
