It really doesn't get better than Taco P. I've been coming here for years and on a recent trip to McAllen, I had to stop in. I love the renovations! The renovations could have well been 5 years ago but the flat screens and new furnishings make this a much more pleasant place to dine in. I got my most trusted taco, the Matamoros. As always, a great blend of flavors. Over at the salsa bar, the complimentary fresh chips and avocado salsa are not to be missed. No strong feelings on the North 10th vs. South 10th locations. One thing I absolutely love about the Valley is the authentic Mexican food. Living in Ohio, it's hard to find the real deal--most places drown everything in that awful canned nacho cheese. I recently ordered chicken fajita pachos and was so disappointed. They were smothered in that same fake cheese, had just a few sad pieces of chicken, and nothing underneath. I guess we are stubborn, we like to order food to go; and every time we order food, always we get it wrong. Missing plates, missing food, or missing the desserts. We are fed up with it. Since I'm the one picking the food ; when I get home it is when I find out something is missing. I used to drive back to get was missing . Since I learned the lesson, I checked the food before leaving the restaurant. And undoubtedly something is missing, I had spoken with the manager every time . And seems they don't care . They say "That they will fix it ". And here I go again ; and happens again . So I had to write this review hoping someone hire up can read this and put more attention to the situation . read more

Food is good, reasonable prices, friendly staff, but come on man, some of us go to work early and we're here wasting our time driving to this location just so it can be closed. So this place is a hit or miss. I was visiting the area and went several times to the drive through and inside to eat. For both breakfast and dinner. First if you go through the drive through the menu does not have all the breakfast taco options. They also take a pretty long time to actually give you your food. However the tacos I've had have been hot and good. The panchos I ordered to go once were soggy and the chips weren't edible at all. Not sure if they gave us those because we weren't staying and the probability of us going back was low (which we didn't). However when I went inside to eat the same ponchos they were great. They also have a little nacho bar set up which is cute. However, the bathroom has a horrible smell coming out of it so we didn't end up staying inside long. read more

Delicious! Voted number 1 fast food by Food & Wine. Doesn't strike me as what you think of when you think of fast food, though technically it comes out fast. We loved the fajita parillada (all steak) for 4- it's a huge portion, and comes with tortillas, rice and refried beans. I really liked the fresh made flour tortillas, and seeing them grill the meat right there. The salsa bar is also killer, with everything you could ask for. The salsa, radishes, and cabbage are great with the tacos. read more

Apparently it's too difficult for the people making the food to read the order. It's not big thing, but my wife doesn't like beans IN her burrito/taco/food. But for the last 8 times we've ordered through the drive thru, there's a huge portion of beans in the burrito every time, despite the receipt even saying NO BEANS. They'll remake the food correctly, but they're completely unapologetic about it. 9/10 times they have gotten some portion of our order wrong at Drive Thru. Quality of food is great, but someone's always dropping the ball with making the orders accurate. read more

The service was really bad here. We were ordering and the manager was rushing us to order and charged me for extra things that I didn't even want. Then the food took so long to come out. I ordered panchos with fajita and they gave me panchos with chicken. When I told him that it was fajita he took it back and just PICKED OFF THE CHICKEN and put the fajita!! I was so mad and they put another type of cheese instead of the melted cheese that I wanted and told me that I ordered the other type when I never did. My husband had ordered the street tacos and we NEVER got them. There were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant. And the workers were just sitting at a table talking and making faces at the customers that were getting upset for their food just sitting there. They took out two other peoples orders that came in after me and we still didn't get our food. Worst experience ever. And the "manager" didn't even offer to compensate anything. My husband found this place when he picked me up from the airport on my last time visiting him in Texas. I came all the way to the southern border of Texas to accompany him on a road trip of a lifetime driving all the way back to the west coast (the best coast!!). And he wanted to make sure I was well fed from the start of our long journey. These were the best tacos we had during our entire stay in Texas. And we drove across the entire state. The tacos here are huge, seasoned well, and bomb dot com. Funny thing is I have a friend born and raised from McAllen who now lives in Vegas and he says these are his favorite tacos ever. That's a strong seal of approval. If we ever find our way back to this part of the country we'd definitely come back. read more

I went around 11:30 pm on a Wednesday and received the worst customer service im not sure if the young lady Sahory didn't care since it was late or she already wanted to go home but terrible customer service there were only 3 cars in the drive tru at the moment one in front me & me in the middle and the one behind me and she couldn't manage to get the orders correctly. She gave out my food to the car in the front which more than likely had already went through it and opened things, rather than asking to remake it she was handing me the order she gave out incorrectly..
