Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce!
Jezrael D.

My review is based from DoorDash order; Hoping my main taco bus doesn't read this, they gonna choke me good lol joke aside, i ordered the chicken enchiladas, the 3 tacos and the chips n salsa. I only tasted the Enchiladas, i had a fall out last night with family n i cannot review the tacos or the chips. Things are getting complicated n i decided to order Mexican food to make myself feel something else. I waited till my anger kinda faded, cuz i don't like stress eating. I hardly ever taste what i eat when i'm in the wrong mood. I am glad i did. I ordered mine with green sauce sense it's the only spicy sauce i can handle. Didn't have to use the extra one. It has spice already infused into the dish! It was a fun fiery heat in my mouth! Every fork full brought a warm full joy. The flavors dancing in mouth on every chew i took. I kid you not! The chicken was delicious, feathery n tender. Had this sweet hidden note i could only taste as it slid down my throat. The ghostly notes lingered on my tung n tickling my taste buds. The beans were nice by themselves. Yet with the rice they to danced in my mouth. The heavy moat of cheese n salsa complimented the whole dish to. I wish i tried the tacos, they looked great. A las i guess my next adventure should be Plant city when things stabilize. Will have to definitely visit the restaurant n experience the visit. Theres an ice cream place near this restaurant that i been meaning to go to. I can kill two birds one stone.

Birria Pizza

We've been here many times and always enjoyed our food. This is the first time trying the birria pizza and it was AMAZING!!! My son and I shared and there's still 1/2 the pizza left. If you haven't tried this it's a must.

Chips and Salsa

Service was excellent. Location is clean and decor is nice. Tacos not so much. Meat (steak) was bland and not a lot of flavor and the hot sauce is barely hot.

Clean nicely decorated place. The service is a little understaffed, we waiting over a 40 minutes for tacos and a burrito and our waitress never stoped by once to check on us. It wasn't packed at all. Food was good but not phenomenal.

Good birria tacos (: went when it wasn't overly busy so fast service. The restaurant was nice and clean as well.

chimichanga meal

Plant City could use some more local restaurants and for some reason, I had never noticed the place before. The atmosphere was kind of simple and you could tell it was a Quizno's at one point in history due to the little stand at the end of the bar where sauces and ingredients normally would go. There is some Mexican art painting on the wall, but I think it could be improved on...although for a new business, I am sure the owner is testing the waters at this location. The food was great and authentic. I had a chimichanga and it came with rice and a small salad (lettuce/tomato/sour cream). I did feel like the cheese inside was a tad strange, as it tasted more like the cheese in a mozzarella cheese stick...stringy, tough, and chewy in comparison to other chimichangas I have had. Maybe that is their style? The staff was nice and if I am looking for Mexican food in Plant City again, I would certainly try them again.

By far the best tamales in town! They have both chicken or pork. I have always gotten the pork and never a disappointment!

His service was smooth and efficient, which made the meal more enjoyable. The Mexican restaurant itself was very good overall. The food tasted fresh. My husband asked for some cilantro. Our server brought out a small container of it (see picture) and never said a word about there being a charge. When the bill came, we noticed we were charged $0.99 for it. Let me be clear: I do NOT care about the $0.99. What I care about is basic honesty and transparency. If you're going to charge customers for something, tell them ahead of time. When Lupe (who was not even our server) came to grab our credit card, I politely asked about it. Instead of simply acknowledging that it should have been mentioned, she immediately became argumentative and said there's a charge for everything. That completely missed the point. I repeated that my issue is not the charge -- it's the fact that nobody told us beforehand. She continued arguing with me, insisting that it didn't come with my original plate so there's a charge. AGAIN, that is not the point. The point is no one told us there would be a charge until the bill showed up. What should have been a simple "I'm sorry, we should have mentioned that" turned into an unnecessary argument with a rude employee who clearly didn't care about the customer experience. It's not about $0.99. It's about terrible communication and even worse customer service. That interaction completely ruined the meal for us. Horrible way to treat customers. We will NOT be coming back and I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

Thanks, Yelp! When I was hungry after antiquing, you led me here. Nice work!…read more I'm not overly familiar with the Lakeland dining scene (I probably owe it to myself to change that), so needed help satisfying my constant craving for Mexican. The Yelpiverse offered several options. The many mentions of kind service drew me here. And indeed, Yelp was right on. Alex was amazing. He was so friendly and helpful-never made me feel rushed. That was just the thing I needed, after a long work week. So, Tapatio's is on Memorial, not far from Lakeland High School. It's a cute, golden yellow building with several beautiful flower planters and crepe myrtle trees out front. It's eye-catching and yes, there's a big private parking lot. Inside, it's big but cozy. There are two separate dining areas: one up front, facing Memorial. The other is along the side. I was seated in the front area. It's colorful, comfy and homey. There's a wholesome vibe here that makes me wonder if this a family operation. I felt very welcomed. And I absolutely loved the complimentary chips and salsa. The fresh, light chips were served warm and came with two salsas: regular-and a side of spicy, that you can mix in with the regular to your ideal heat level. The menu is large... and it took me a long time to decide. Alex was so patient. I had a margarita, which wasn't too sweet (yay). I also ordered a small side of queso blanco dip and a side of flour tortillas. Frankly, I was stuffed after that, but I didn't want to miss out on anything-so I ordered the lunch "pick two" and went with two tacos: one hard taco with beef and one soft taco with chicken. It came with one side-I went with rice. What a great value for money this was: a huge helping for $11.95! The tacos were stuffed full of meat, that was cooked well. I really enjoyed all the little extra touches here, the attention to detail. There was a paper doily under the cheese dip cup, on the little plate. I liked the engraved logo on the wooden salt and paper shakers on each table and all of the wall art and decor objects. You can tell the owners/staff care about the business and the customers. I wish them all good things and huge success.
