This was one of the best and Mexican restaurants I have ever experienced. This is one of my top choices in the state of Florida. Leticia was Awesome! Very Professional the Service was excellent.. the food was definitely authentic. It is actually more authentic than places I'm used to going. The ambience was incredible. Very Cool Atmosphere. Very Clean Restaurant. I wish they had a place like this closer to where I live. This place is a Hidden Gem. I strongly recommend this restaurant! Would not come back. I did not believe the cockroach reviews here; but see my pics, don't take my word for it.

Nasty dirty floors and uncleaned tables!!

The waitress kept rushing us no one welcomed us. The restaurant is so dirty and the floor is all nasty. The food disgusting no tasteI'm Mexican and I can tell you this is the worst food I've had everything looks frozen and store bought even the tortillas. I had agua de horchata and let me tell you it tasted like those packets of flavoring you buy at Walmart, NASTY!! The food over cooked.

First and foremost, this building is old. The decor is old. It's not the cleanest restaurant I've ever been to. Saying this, I get it. I've traveled most of Asia we complain about the smallest things here. All of it to me adds to the authenticity. The carne asada tacos (corn) were fantastic. The corn tortillas were legit. Easily the best side of rice and beans I've had at a Mexican restaurant. Two big thumbs up. $9 with tax for four tacos and a big side order of rice and beans. I left my waitress a $4 tip and she was ecstatic. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Want pretentious? Go to chipotle you douche.

Chicken Mole done right. Rick bayles has nothing on this woman's cooking.

Tried this place and was highly disappointed. Smallest tacos you ever have seen. It's disrespectful. No stars. Don't go.

The food was way overpriced and was poor quality. My cheese enchiladas were not melted and cold inside.

Authentic Mexican food, great Tacos and Fajitas. Prices are very reasonable. Don't let the outside or location fool you.

I work in Plant City and decided to try this place with my husband. The food was good and the…read moreservice was mediocre, but what happened at the end completely ruined the entire experience. My husband asked for some cilantro. Our server brought out a small container of it (see picture) and never said a word about there being a charge. When the bill came, we noticed we were charged $0.99 for it. Let me be clear: I do NOT care about the $0.99. What I care about is basic honesty and transparency. If you're going to charge customers for something, tell them ahead of time. When Lupe (who was not even our server) came to grab our credit card, I politely asked about it. Instead of simply acknowledging that it should have been mentioned, she immediately became argumentative and said there's a charge for everything. That completely missed the point. I repeated that my issue is not the charge -- it's the fact that nobody told us beforehand. She continued arguing with me, insisting that it didn't come with my original plate so there's a charge. AGAIN, that is not the point. The point is no one told us there would be a charge until the bill showed up. What should have been a simple "I'm sorry, we should have mentioned that" turned into an unnecessary argument with a rude employee who clearly didn't care about the customer experience. It's not about $0.99. It's about terrible communication and even worse customer service. That interaction completely ruined the meal for us. Horrible way to treat customers. We will NOT be coming back and I definitely do NOT recommend this place.

I got the Camarones Con Rajas Y Crema and my husband ordered the Carnitas Dinner. His pork was not shredded, rather it was chunks of not great meat. Definitely not what he expected and certainly a letdown. My dish was decent, yet the sauce wasn't really noticeable. I did appreciate all the additional little shrimp hidden like treasure throughout my rice. The shrimp on their own, however, weren't all that flavorful. On a positive note, I was thrilled that our server automatically brought 2 separate salsa bowls for our chips. Sometimes I'm not very good at sharing. Service could have been a bit warmer, though. A smile here and there goes a long way. The interior is festive with vibrant colors and artwork. The women's bathroom is spacious and charming. We got lucky and were able to park right out front on a rainy night. Being located in a strip mall, the lot was pretty full. Wasn't impressed with the food, so unlikely to return.

Thanks, Yelp! When I was hungry after antiquing, you led me here. Nice work!…read more I'm not overly familiar with the Lakeland dining scene (I probably owe it to myself to change that), so needed help satisfying my constant craving for Mexican. The Yelpiverse offered several options. The many mentions of kind service drew me here. And indeed, Yelp was right on. Alex was amazing. He was so friendly and helpful-never made me feel rushed. That was just the thing I needed, after a long work week. So, Tapatio's is on Memorial, not far from Lakeland High School. It's a cute, golden yellow building with several beautiful flower planters and crepe myrtle trees out front. It's eye-catching and yes, there's a big private parking lot. Inside, it's big but cozy. There are two separate dining areas: one up front, facing Memorial. The other is along the side. I was seated in the front area. It's colorful, comfy and homey. There's a wholesome vibe here that makes me wonder if this a family operation. I felt very welcomed. And I absolutely loved the complimentary chips and salsa. The fresh, light chips were served warm and came with two salsas: regular-and a side of spicy, that you can mix in with the regular to your ideal heat level. The menu is large... and it took me a long time to decide. Alex was so patient. I had a margarita, which wasn't too sweet (yay). I also ordered a small side of queso blanco dip and a side of flour tortillas. Frankly, I was stuffed after that, but I didn't want to miss out on anything-so I ordered the lunch "pick two" and went with two tacos: one hard taco with beef and one soft taco with chicken. It came with one side-I went with rice. What a great value for money this was: a huge helping for $11.95! The tacos were stuffed full of meat, that was cooked well. I really enjoyed all the little extra touches here, the attention to detail. There was a paper doily under the cheese dip cup, on the little plate. I liked the engraved logo on the wooden salt and paper shakers on each table and all of the wall art and decor objects. You can tell the owners/staff care about the business and the customers. I wish them all good things and huge success.
