    Tres tacos en casa
    Mateo E.

I've driven by this place scores of times, hungry but in a hurry with no time. This morning I had time, so, channeling Mr. Keating from Dead Poets Society, I seized the day. The menu presents a dizzying array of choices. I picked three tacos. Carne Con Papa: This had barely recognizable pork chunks with potatoes and green chile. Close your eyes for this one--it tastes great, but the pork defines "mystery meat" on visual inspection. It could be anything. Chile Rojo: This was the best of all, featuring pork in a formidable red chile sauce with beans (and, of course, an avalanche of cilantro/onion). Asada: They're not shy with the cilantro and onions, maybe because the middling asada gets covered up. Not bad, but nothing special. Both chile sauces were among my Denver favorites. Three stars for this chain masquerading as a hole in the wall. If I return, it's gordita time!

Awful!!! I work right by here and always see a sign that says Homemade Tortillas so I decided to try. They basically just have tacos and gorditas and added Asada Fries recently. When I ordered I asked the guy if taco plate came with flour or corn tortilla tacos and he looked at me weird and said I don't understand I said again are tacos corn or flour tortillas? He said corn of course because flour would be weird....ok. I'm from Texas and we eat flour tortillas tacos everywhere. I thought rude of him to say that. I also got the Gordita in flour and it was too tough and thick pocket. If you've never had a Gordita it's like a pita pocket filled with Meat cheese and Beans. This was inedible it was so dry and thick. The meat was also tough and chewy.

Steak breakfast burrito Delicious! For $4, it's amazing! All of the ingredients are equal portions. There was actually steak! I've been driving past this place for a few months, and I decided to stop today! Best choice ever, Did I mention the tortillas are homemade!! Perfectly at that. Not too thick, not too thin. Perfect! Their avocado salsa on the breakfast burrito was delish as well! Perfect amount of spice! Definitely worth a try!

I got the quessabirria tacos. They looked good, but there was way too much cheese. I'll try something else next time.

I'm partial to the Enchiladas, Chile Relleno, Taquitos with consumè, and the chilaquiles. If you ask for it, they'll bring the heat unlike many places out here. The service is always fantastic. Usually Monica takes care of me when I come in during the week and she's always cool to chat with and takes care of my order. The service as a whole is really good here.

For two people, ordered a set of 3 tacos (2x barbacoa and carnitas) and then another 3 tacos (asada, carnitas, and pastor), birria egg rolls, and a bean, cheese, and rice burrito. Not a big deal but they put all the tacos in one box and I was able to differentiate which 3 tacos that I ordered. This place is super stingy with salsa. They gave me 2 tiny containers for salsa and then when I asked for a couple more, the lady said she could only give me two more. :( Excited to try the food and started off great with a simple bean, cheese, and rice burrito but outside of that everything else was very meh. Not sure how but all the meats were so dry, I ordered braised/slow cooked meats (barbacoa and carnitas). Asada and pastor were okay as well. Everything lacked seasoning and the salsa didn't add much to the tacos either. Birria tacos were also dry and consommé needed salt to be added. Value was not bad at $37.64. Tacos were about $3-3.20 per

A lot of places popped up, but this Mexican restaurant really stood out -- great reviews and the food pictures looked amazing. It's about 13 minutes from the airport, which made it super convenient. From the outside, it looks small, but once you walk in, it's surprisingly spacious. We were seated immediately, and our server was absolutely phenomenal -- so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. For an appetizer, we ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (you can choose corn or flour tortillas). This is one of my favorite dishes to get at any Mexican restaurant if they offer it, and this one did not disappoint. The cheese was perfectly melty and stretchy, and the chorizo had great flavor that paired so well with it. Wrapping that cheesy, savory goodness in a warm tortilla? So good. For my main dish, I ordered the quesabirria -- corn tortillas filled with birria and cheese, fried crispy, and served with consommé for dipping. It was decent, but I will say it didn't have quite as much flavor as I'm used to with quesabirria. Still enjoyable, just could've used a bit more seasoning. The beans were actually delicious and full of flavor, but the rice was a little bland and could've used some salt. Overall, the service was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and even though it was busy, everything came out in a timely manner. The prices were also very reasonable -- definitely not expensive for the quality and portions. I would absolutely come back to try other dishes. With just a little more seasoning in some areas, it would easily be a five-star spot for me!

Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. We were told our total was $32, but when I paid with a card, the final charge came to $34.93. When I asked why the amount was different, I was told it was because I paid with a card. I understand that taxes and fees may apply, but customers should be told the full amount before being charged. What bothered me the most was the attitude. When I politely asked for clarification, the person cooking responded in a rude and arrogant way, saying, "You know that in the United States you have to pay sales tax." I wasn't questioning whether sales tax exists, I was simply asking why the amount I was quoted was different from the amount I was charged. I also noticed that my receipt showed a Denver sales tax rate of 9.15%, even though the food truck was located in Aurora on Hampden, which added to the confusion. The food is excellent, but the customer service and lack of clear communication left a negative impression. I would return for the food, but I hope they work on treating customers with more respect and explaining charges more clearly.
