Still really delicious food and nice people. It seems the owner doesn't care that his restaurant is 75% empty. The prices went up drastically by 20% which is a shock, but then an additional cost of "Inflation Relief Fee" was added on our check as well. That's a bunch of horse manure. This is about as far as I make it to Aurora. I live in Denver and it takes a lot for me to crave or want a particular restaurant for me to travel out of my 10 mile radius, from my home. This is one of the places that I actually do enjoy. I love Mexican food, but I only do it once a week. There's a couple other places that I like that they're not always consistent. Piramides is good if you want something a step above Taco Bell and want to spend a bit too much money on it. I have no idea how this place has 4.7 stars. Things that were great. The service was a 10/10. They were attentive and polite. In regard to stand out food, the chile relleno was great and that is the only thing I would order again. It was delicious and perfectly crispy. My gripes start with my margarita, it tasted like dish soap. In their defense, my husbands coin marg did not. So it could have just been my glass, or the house marg recipe. Everything else was over sauced and over cooked and a bit...off. The chips tasted stale, it was either the oil or the chips being old. We also got the shrimp in Diablo sauce and the shrimp was overcooked and a bit bouncy, I did however enjoy the Diablo sauce it was the perfect amount of spice. And the chili cheese fries were so soggy they were texturally a turnoff for me. We got steak on the chili cheese fries and the steak tasted like it had freezer burn. All around a massive disappointment for what should be a fairly straight forward crowd pleaser. The whole meal for me was a huge thumbs down and I would choose one of many other restaurants in the area to try instead. read more

Hands-down the worst meal we've hand in the past five years. Once we ordered queso & guacamole, we realized that nothing they use is fresh or quality ingredients and we should have left. We ordered the molcajete and once again, everything was a disaster. Their sour cream didn't even taste like sour cream, had a lot of corn starch added or something similar for filler. The meat was boiled and there was no cheese in the molcajete. I just spent $60 on a beer and jalapeño because those were the only two edible things. Piramides is not the same as Molcajete (our previous favourite place prior to the pandemic). We stopped dining out temporarily during the panny so I missed the change (sorry Molcajete! We miss you). However, we are happy to welcome Piramides into the neighborhood! This is a brand new owner and the management and cooks are different so while the menu looks similar, it is not the same. I met the new owner, Mr Victor at a recent Yelp Elite Event. He was warm and friendly and mentioned he'd been in the restaurant business 25yrs. We sampled his chips and salsa, fresh guacamole and flautas - all delicious - so when he invited us to come check the new place out we were happy to do that today. We ordered our favourite, the Molcajete. And here it is filled to the brim with pork, chicken, beef and chorizo on a bed of fajita vegetables, topped with a spicy roasted jalapeño. It was delicious! It came with a plate of rice, sour cream and guacamole, shredded lettuce and refried beans and four tortillas. With an extra side of tortillas, this was perfect for two. With tip and a couple drinks, our meal was $40, very reasonable for so much food and great service. Mr Victor was even on site greeting and checking in with every table personally, so it was nice to see him again. We'll definitely be back to enjoy a fried fish plate we saw today but didn't have space for, and maybe a fried ice cream desert too. They also have $3 breakfast burritos for your road trips and good happy hour deals with live music, so I see us coming back pretty soon! read more

My husband and I went this past Friday and shared a Mocajete (MUST TRY), jamaica (hibiscus beverage-caffeine free), and their horchata. I arrived home today from a full day from nursing school and Piramides was on both our minds. We hopped in the car to find ourselves at the restaurant again. Our food choices this evening included a green chile pork plate and a beef enchilada plate. The plates are generous and truly reasonable! The wife and I were looking for a new Mexican place to visit for our standard Friday night "let's go get Mexican" dinner out. We have a few regulars in the area but wanted to try something new; So we found Piramides on google maps and off we went! We rolled in about 45 minutes before close on a Friday, and it was fairly empty - and I am shocked it was. Great salsa, with pretty standard chips. A decent (GIANT) Skinny Marg - tasty but a little on the sweet side for a skinny marg, but whatever. HAPPY CAMPER HERE. She got the Molcajete which was awesome and giant. It's huge, definitely for two people, and extremely tasty. I had the Carne Adobada and it was just incredible. The seasoning on the park reminded me vaguely of chorizo, and the meat was super well cooked, just great. Beans and rice pretty standard - overall just great. Even if the items are standard it's exactly what we want. The service was also excellent and very friendly. The only weird thing was they brought us a separate check for the drink and the food! But that's just a silly laugh - we had a great time, thoroughly enjoyed it, and we WILL be back. Too much awesome stuff on the menu to not try. read more
