    Truck

ONE OF THE BEST TACO TRUCKS IN SAN DIEGO! I know stating this is fighting words, as everyone will defend their taco truck and burrito spots, but truly this is probably the best taco truck I have been to. I randomly saw an instragram post that they were going to be in my area the other night, so my wife and I took took the kids to get some tacos. They have a pretty big menu which I appreciated, but also struggled with because there were too many good choices to make a decision between. Tacos we ordered: - Adobada taco. This was both mine and my wife's favorite taco - the I mean is there really anything better than adobada? 12/10 - Shrimp - it was deep fried shrimp. really good, would ask for extra sauce next time, 9/10 - Carnitas - really good, 10/10 - Smoked Marlin - was pretty good, maybe 6.5/10 - Nopales (cactus) - also pretty good, maybe 6.5 as well we also got a chicken and cheese quesadilla, our 3 year old ate the whole thing Overall I was really impressed with this truck. The adobada and carnitas were outstanding. next time we go I will get their other tacos and rate them. I wish their red salsa was better... tasted exactly like tapatio However their green salsa was really good, which I used on all my tacos.

    Trio with Rice & Beans

I ran into this great Food Truck at the Burning Beard Brewery in El Cajon. Dinner was in order so I had the three taco plate with rice and beans for $10. I choose chicken, carnitas, and adobaba taco for my trio. All three tacos were pretty good. My favorite was the adobada given the pork meat was tender and the adobada marinade was quite tasty. As in all three, the corn tortilla were very good and I liked that they had some girth and a flavorful natural yellow corn flavor. The carnitas were flavorful but they were a little on the dry side but as a whole the taco was quite good, especially with the addition of the green salsa. The chicken taco was good but nor my favorite. The chicken meat had a light flavor, but the rest of the taco tasted great. I don't think they charbroiled or grilled the chicken, but I could be mistaken. I could not see the grilling physically nor in the chicken's flavor, i.e., smokiness and char flavor. Anyways, in the end they were good tacos. Their beans were excellent and sported a great robust flavor and spot on seasoning. I loved the addition of the finely grated Cotija cheese on top of the beans. It is always a nice touch. I thought the rice was okay. It still had a bit to much moisture in it which prevented that fluffiness. Its flavor was simple and light but good. This is definitely a great food truck to hook up with.

Birria, barbacoa, smoked fish tacos with rice and beans

I had them when they catered a wedding I attended. The beans are to die for! The tortilla? Bomb.com. I had the smoked fish, birria, and barbacoa. All had TONS of flavor. The salsas were spicy and fresh. They provided the perfect acidity. I definitely recommend them.

I had Taco Tuesday truck for my birthday party. Everyone loved authentic tacos that were freshly prepared from scratches. Very reliable and friendly service! I had about 30 guests which was a minimum number of guest to have their service at my back yard. My favorite was a fish taco. My daughter loved the quesadilla! Thank you Alfonso!

Carnitas and Marlin tacos with rice/beans

I had the privilege of trying Taco Tuesday's tacos at an event and they are by far the best tacos I've had--like my mothers and from Mexico. I had carnitas which were rich in flavor, and Marlin which had the smokey taste of a real authentic smoked Marlin. The tortillas were delicious and sturdy for the generous amount of meat added. By far, the best tacos in San Diego. I highly recommend trying Taco Tuesday!

Taco Tuesday catered our backyard wedding. The tacos were a huge hit with so many great options to please everyone! Alfonso and his team were so wonderful to work with. They made coordinating with them very easy and when they showed up they went beyond our expectations. Such a friendly team that really added great spirit to our celebration. We did not make it easy for them to park in our driveway, but they were so easy going and willing to make it work. I am so grateful and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to wow their guests!

We've seen the Taco Tuesday food truck at Burning Beard Brewing on a number of occasions and have been Jonesing to give them a try. On Sunday we decided it was finally time. We checked the Burning Beard calendar and sure enough, Taco Tuesday on Sunday! We cruised over and grabbed out seats at the bar, ordered a couple of beers and made a beeline for the truck. Becky had the two taco special. One carnitas, one pork adobada with rice and beans ($7). I had the three fish tacos with rice and beans combo ($7.50). Bex loved the carnitas, so much in fact that I didn't get any of it! She loved the adobada too, but not as much as she did the carnitas. She gave some of the adobada to me. It was excellent. Tender, juicy and flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The fish tacos were bomb! Taco Tuesday uses homemade tortillas and the taste is so much better than that of the store bought variety. A good thick tortilla with a delicious corn flavor and excellent chew. The fish were generous portions breaded and expertly fried. The white sauce was outstanding. Easily some of the best fish tacos I've had. The rice was light and fluffy and full of flavor and the beans...wow! The beans were absolutely lard-o-licious! Washed down with a couple of Burning Beard beers, the perfect pairing! The service was friendly and fast. A fantastic lunch! Easy 5-stars!

Gordo's adobada can compare favorably to al pastor anywhere; however, my experience at this "Gordo" location in Gaslamp has been inconsistent compared to Chula Vista and Vegas locations, due to their higher volume. The smaller space also has less seating, which is a bummer if you are coming here on a busy comic con day. The adobada here, though, is the taco to get. Consider yourself lucky if you get a nice portion of crispy and burnt bits as they offer nice textural bites. Their sauces/salsas are also equally good, and it sets it above and beyond another taquero from Tijuana, Tacos El Franc. Don't shy away from their asada tacos either, as the meat has a nice kiss of charcoal and it's topped with a generous portion of guac. I don't love that prices have gone up to almost $5/taco; however, I'll gladly pay it if they can give me my favorite taco.

There is barely any organization to the system of ordering and receiving food - and don't even get me started on the chaos of it all. The store employees were just as disgruntled and stressed as I was. I had ordered an adobada taco since that was the very first line. I gave up trying to get my lengua taco because I had no idea that I was supposed to receive it first before I received my fries (after paying). If my review is confusing, it's because it really was confusing during my visit here. But that's not all. There were upstairs seating available, but NO AIR WAS AVAILABLE. It was unbearable to sit in that heat and eat comfortably in that kind of environment. I felt so nauseous during and after my visit at this location. I don't even remember how my one taco tasted.. Even later, when I threw it up later that night.. Will not go back to this location, but am willing to check out other locations.

There were a couple of groups dining in and someone picking up a to-go order, but there was still plenty of seating available. The employee working the counter was friendly. They also serve alcohol, and during my visit drinks were 20% off. Options included Pacifico, Modelo, Blue Moon, hard seltzers, and a selection of canned craft beers. I ordered: * Mahi Mahi Taco: the fish tasted fresh, and I liked the crispy onions on top. There was quite a bit of sauce, which made it pretty messy to eat. While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times.
