Amazing atmosphere, service, food and cocktails. It's a hidden gem off the beaten path. We had an amazing time with our two children under three. Hard to find in a busy city.

Darn, I thought for sure this would be a 5 star review. We popped in for lunch, starving and thirsty. They weren't crowded but the place is small and quaint. We walked up the stairs to wait to be seated and while they said it would be a minute , we felt in the way as multiple servers walked past us but didn't help us and many rushed "excuse me's". Finally got seated at a nice corner table for four. We shared two charcuterie sandwiches and a Caesar salad. The sandwiches are small but tasty. The fries were good, lots of small pieces, if that's your jam. The whole leaf salad sounded like it could have been one of the best but it lacked dressing, and I don't like a ton of dressing on my salads. More dressing made a huge difference. The service was disappointingly meh. When they delivered the food they offered aioli but never came back with it. We needed more dressing, had to find our server to ask. Would have ordered another drink but was never asked. Had to find the server again to ask for our bill. They weren't crowded but maybe we hit this on an off day?

Hands down, the best meal(s) we ate during our entire five-day stay in Vancouver! While wandering around after dinner the day before, some random guy standing outside the Red Accordion noticed our admiration of its cute exterior patio, festoon lighting, and warm, inviting interior, and proudly declared that it was one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. We thanked him, and I made a note of it, to visit in the future. The very next day, we found ourselves nearby, and decided to give it a shot. Abandoning our massive stroller, we hauled our two rambunctious kids up the stairs, found a set, and settled in. After navigating the expansive drinks menu, ordering a cocktail (the Penicillin) and a glass of chardonnay, my fancy pants wife ordered the lobster gnocchi, while my basic bitch self ordered the Red Accordion burger (as I stand by my assessment that a restaurant can be wholly and definitively judged *solely* by its burger offering). True to random guy's declaration, everything about our meal...hell, the entire experience, was phenomenal! My wife raved that the lobster gnocchi was the best thing she'd eaten at any restaurant in Canada all the way going back five years to our first trip here together; similarly, my burger was enough to immediately convince me that America no longer holds the crown on burger supremacy: sorry, Yanks! (myself included) Our server, whose name I failed to gather (mostly because she bore a striking resemblance to my ex-wife...something that both myself and my *current* wife both noticed) was amazing (and much friendlier than her doppelganger!), from start to finish. And the interior décor, like the exterior that drew us to the restaurant in the first place, is even more charming and intimate than it may seem from the outside. The VHS tape of "Gladiator", playing on a small CRT TV in the lobby, was a highlight for me, but even more engaging were the multiple paintings of a personal hero of mine, Anthony Bourdain, hanging on the walls just at the apex of the staircase to the upper dining area, painted by a local artist; obviously, I purchased one to take home with me, as a souvenir. I think it is safe to say that The Red According is my favorite restaurant in the Vancouver metro area, and that is saying something, because the other faves on that list are no slouches. But the confluence of all the things this place does right, from food to service to décor, added together, creates an incomparable experience that allows it to take the crown, and it is not likely to be dethroned anytime soon.

The food is amazing, the same could easily be said for the drinks. The house specials are fantastic and will easily be the best choice you can make.

Braised Short Rib Stroganoff with added truffle

Came here on a whim after running some errands. It's a nice, cozy and intimate spot. We sat downstairs. Ordered a feature cocktail and it was pretty good! Will have to come back to try some others. The mussels were absolutely delicious - and the fried dough they served with it to dip in the broth was top notch. I ordered the lobster gnocchi and my partner ordered the short rib stroganoff. The lobster gnocchi was good but not my favourite gnocchi - the plating was gorgeous but the pieces are just too big in my opinion, I was cutting them in half and with the sauce and lobster bits. Overall, I felt like the dish could have used more lobster flavour as it felt a bit one note. The braised short rib stroganoff on the other hand was amazing - our waitress asked if my partner would like to add truffle for an additional $5-$7 depending on the variety, and he went for the $7 one as it's apparently more potent. Unsure why but when we had the plate we felt like we didn't really taste the truffle even though the shavings are there. We recommend this plate but would pass on the truffle next time! Still a great experience and will be back to try other dishes!

Great restaurant in a tucked away location right in downtown! I came here with friends on a Tuesday evening and had a great evening. I would recommend making reservations as it was quite busy even on a Tuesday. The ambiance is super cozy, and we were all pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. Portion sizes are also generous! I would recommend the burrata, octopus, and flatbread to try. Service was top notch!

We came for Happy hour on a Friday and there was quite a bit of space available We had the negroni, red wine and espresso martini as drinks. For food we had the lobster hush puppies ($16) and the red accordian burger ($28) The negroni was really good. Not too strong or bitter. Made just right. The espresso martini was Mediocre would avoid it next time. The lobster hush puppies had a good bit to it. It had bits of lobster in it too. Not too heavy The burger was a bit burnt but I loved the freshness of the vegetables and the bun. The fries although were not crispy were Morrish. The ketchup is house made and really good. Not overly sweet like Heinz. Service was pretty friendly. Great chill atmosphere. Seems like they have regulars who come quite often. Overall nice place for drinks and to chill with friends

Carrot miso pasta

I gave this place three stars because I really enjoyed the vibe and I thought the food was presented really nicely. However, the pasta that I had made my stomach a little bit gassy and I'm not sure if it's just me but I normally don't get this problem when I eat out so I don't think I would order that if I went back to the red accordion in the future. I'm definitely open to trying other things though. We also ordered the fried dough and that was really good.

I love the cozy ambiance of this charming restaurant. Divided into two dining rooms, two lounges, a bar, and two patios, there's an ideal spot for everyone. Reservations are available on Tock for each separate area. The cocktail list and wine menu are both extensive. I loved all the cocktails we tried; my favorites were the espresso-based ones. There's something magical about a tiki drink with espresso, but the one with Licor 43 is even better. We started with the Aint No Thang spicy chicken wings, which had a delicious sweet heat, especially if you got one of the red chili slices. The cheese plate was also delicious, and the accompanying sourdough toast was delightfully charred. Entree standouts were the curry mussels and the Caesar salad (ask them to chop it up in the kitchen if you don't want a whole head of iceberg). Service was friendly and attentive. Note that it does take a while for cocktails to be prepared, as they are done individually by a single bartender, so plan ahead.

Chicken wings were very good

We came here for brunch and sat at a bar then got moved to a table. The bartender was friendly and chill, and the waitress was so nice as well. Food was excellent! We loved the salad, claw lobster benny on fried dough (that fried dough was so good), and the chicken wings. The latte was also very good. The restaurant is inside a heritage house, so the atmosphere is very different from other restaurants. It feels like you've been transported back to the Victorian era with its elegant and antiquey decor.

Tucked away in a corner close to Stanley Park, everything from the ambiance, service and food makes the Red Acccordion one of the best brunches in downtown Vancouver, making this restaurant a true hidden gem. The edamame hummas was very unique, and had a special taste that's addicting and leaves you craving more. Under the waitresses recommendations, we got several entrees to try and each item tasted amazing. The quality of ingredients were fresh and was overall cooked to perfection.

Very cool place. Tried it based on Yelp reviews and was as good as advertised. Staff and service were great. Awesome cocktails!

The exteriors of this place are so cute! It's a red little house and the inside feels like it too with dim lighting. Came here because I heard that they have good cocktails and that was true! We got their espresso martini and mai tai, both were really good! You could really taste the coffee in their espresso martini. Our server was super nice and made good recommendations for us. My friend had some nuts allergies and our server was very nice to triple check with the chef about the food contents. We ordered their wings and edamame for starters, the wings were average but their edamame with pita bread was sooo good! It was very unique, had a garlicky minty flavour which tasted pretty nice. For main course I got their risotto because I had heard a lot about it but was a bit disappointed. The risotto had pea in them which was not my most favourite thing and it was also a bit dry. I took it home for later and it was not the best when you reheat it. Overall, had a good experience and would recommend them for cocktails drinks!

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.

We sat indoors with the option to be seated outdoors with heated lamps but we didn't want to smell the smoke from people smoking outside. We ordered the Dark Spell Latte, Albedo Spritz, and Final Word. The Dark Spell Latte is like an espresso martini with chocolate syrup added, which is pretty solid. The Albedo Spritz is a red wine cocktail with hard liquor, and stood out to me as they had 5oz of alcohol so this was fairly strong, but I would imagine most of the ounces came from the wine itself. I liked the gold dusted blackberry. The Final Word is fruity and smoky, which I enjoyed, but not warrant a hefty price tag compared to the other drinks. Service is decent and in line with other restaurant bars. Overall, solid drinks at okay prices that I can see myself recommending this spot. Food was good. We went during happy hour and I got their happy hour burger + fries ($16) and a creme brulee ($6). The burger and fries was solid - nothing super amazing, but got the job done! The creme brulee was really good and came at a great price. I like that they have a lot of specials like pasta nights (wish I would've stopped by on those nights!), wine special days, and pizza special days. Service was fine. A little slow, but it was nearing the end of the evening so I'm sure it's quicker when it's more lively!
