There's nothing terrible about Holy Guacamole, but there's also nothing great. It's not really Mexican food, but more like someone read a description of TexMex and tried to make it without any first hand experience. Cheese sauce on Nachos is an example. It's a shame, because Vancouver really lacks Mexican restaurants, especially in the West End. But with ordering at the counter rather than the table, this isn't really a restaurant, either. read more

Great huevos Ranchero. Nicely done. Tasty rice. The hot chocolate was delicious, but I really wanted a decaf Americano. Alas, no decaf beans. The burrito was as big as a baby. Super good too. We're visiting from Georgia, USA and decided to give this place a try. For me it falls squarely in the "not bad, but not great" category. My wife really enjoyed her 4 taco plate with 2 fish and 2 chorizo. I had the quesadillas carnitas with rice and beans. The quesadilla was good with just the right mix of meat and cheese. The rice wasn't bad, but I didn't care for the beans. They tasted like they had tomato paste in them. Bottles cokes were $5.50 each, which to me is high even with the exchange rate. Overall, we spent around $68 Canadian and I think we could have done better somewhere else. Oh, and with the $13 tip that we paid upfront, I didn't expect to have to bus my own table. read more

i'm going to be honest, this place is quite mid by my standards. when we walked in we thought "oh how neat, i would enjoy a burrito. how can you mess up a burrito?" and this place showed us how. the staff were nice but was it all a ploy? pretending to be nice to lure us into purchasing possibly the worst mexican food we've ever had. mushy, bland, they didn't even take the time to roll the tortilla! quite a disappointing experience. not a slay. apparently the tacos were ok but that could be a lie. read more

Imagine Real Mexican Food in Vancouver... On Denman! Best Machaca in town, superb Pinto Refried Beans and Hot Sauces with a Bite! Open early enough so you can get breakfast... Seriously, the food is as good as the Best in SoCal. And generous portions, DoorDash delivers which is how I discovered this wonderful reminder of home... They ran out of chips and salsa. Wouldn't tell us at what time they closed but rushed us to order and eat. Had to clean off your own table . Pretty expensive for the quality of service. I was VERY excited when I saw the New Mexican restaurant at this location. The previous restaurant was a very good one for breakfast and brunch. I went to Holy Guacamole and I got a Torta; I was not impressed . The torta was smaller and more expensive than the ones on Cambie. Lack of the Mexican characteristic flavour. The service was very slow. I had to wait over 35 min to get my torta, and not guacamole!! I gave it another try, this time I went for their breakfast. To be honest, I was expecting something on size and flavour as their predecessor restaurant. I was sad Very disappointed. The portion is really small, ‍nuggets out of the box, and no tortillas. I left the place hungry, disappointed and promising that I will never go back. I will rather to drive all the way to cambie for a good torta, or to patron for a bigger portion. I really hope the owner of this restaurant reads this review and improves it. I really hope. It will be nice to have a good Mexican restaurant close to home. Cheers. read more

Good morning pretty friendly staff I was going to go in there for the actual breakfast which was 11 bucks plus a coffee included not a very exceptional deal but okay other burrito was okay what and more spice to it but if I wanted a few Jalapenos in wanted extra money ordered a soft burrito and 4 tacos and a cherito not bad I'm going to give him one more chance they need to get fresh new cutleries that stuff I was using was so dull I hurt my arm just trying to cut the the burrito so dull it was have an old what are given points for trying but they're going to have to up their game a bit this is a very Discerning neighbourhood food qualities got to be great prices of got to be better read more

Great new place. I had the enchiladas with the poblano pepper sauce and my wife had the Taco Supreme (I think it was called). We both really like the flavours and my meal was worth the price. Her meal was expensive approx $21 (pre tip) for 3 tacos with beans and rice. Better deal to get the 4 taco special. The Churros are excellent and the staff are super friendly.
