I was a little skeptical because of the name but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It's not super authentic but the ingredients were fresh and everything was well seasoned. I wish they had steak option instead of the ground beef. My favorite was the taco salad. It was loaded with veggies and you can add a protein of your choice for extra fee. It went real well with the house pineapple habanero salsa. Sweet with a bit of spice. They also have the taco truck on the days the restaurant is closed but the choices are far more limited. I'm torn on my review, because I thought the food was good. However, the service was bad. It took forever to order because only one person was working the counter and trying to be a server at the same time. She spent 10 minutes fussing over a to-go order when line to order just kept getting longer. I gave specific instructions for sour cream to be put into my burrito, not in a container on the side (with the size of these burritos it is impossible to dunk it in the small container). We went the night of 4th of July and they were really busy! The staff were great and the food was excellent. Everything we had tasted great and they did not skimp on the amounts. We like it. We go often. Always plenty of food. We have noticed that later in the day the corn elote, which we love, is getting old and dry. We had a surf and turf taco the other day and it was tough and inedible. It was replaced w fish immediately, and that was delicious. Thanks for that! Two suggestions: patio atmosphere is awesome, but the tables inside are too big. Need 8-10 small tables w small chairs for a cozier atmosphere. Maybe move the outside tables inside for the winter? Are they smaller? Light music other than reggae. Need a warm, festive interior. Even just some small candles or bright colored bandanas on the walls? If the dining area was more manageable, the employees could organize tables and chairs while they are not serving. Also need a water button on your drink machine. How about trying some tortilla soup? On a recent family vacation to Pictured Rocks, my two adult children and teenage daughter had the privilege of discovering this hidden gem! After spending the day at the beach, we are all famished to say the least. Not only was the food outstanding, the hostess was incredibly patient and nice! The guacamole was outstanding - my son doesn't normally like guacamole and he raves about it still! My daughters and I all had tacos - whitefish(Happy Hippo), shrimp(Tequila Sunrise) chicken (Super Trooper/Hey Smokey) - my son had the Chicken Flautas bowl on both visits. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor deck is great - at night, it's very pretty with the outdoor lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I do not understand the negative reviews/complaints - is obvious to me that those reviewers haven't had authentic Mexican, nor realize his much it costs for quality food. It was so phenomenal that we returned the next day for more!! When we returned, the service was even better! We were given extra guacamole on the house and thanked numerous times for our patronage.
