The service was great. The food was terrible. I ordered a spinach and artichoke dip and it was closer to creamed spinach. We asked to send it back. The waitress looked at me suspiciously and said "Well what's wrong with it?" I told her it was mostly the texture and it didn't really taste like spinach and artichoke dip. She said she would ask the owner. He said no. I don't believe the customer is always right but in this case, we weren't wrong. The dip is terrible. So understand, you're going to buy terrible food and it will not be taken back. Side note: The rest of the food wasn't good either but i was hungry enough to get half of my sandwich down. We had heard a bit of hype about Foggy's. That is what it appears to be, hype. First off, this is not a bar. The reason being, if it was a bar, you could get a beer or liquor, which this place offers neither. The food took almost an hour to get, and the place really was not that busy. There were only about a dozen people in the restaurant. The waitress could have been more attentive. I had to ask for steak sauce twice before she finally brought it over. It identifies as a "Steak House". Getting some steak sauce should not be too difficult. She did not check in with us enough. The music coming out of the kitchen was competing with the music that was being played in the restaurant. Play one or the other, but not both. This was totally annoying. Also, the noise coming from the kitchen was excessive. There appeared to be no door on the kitchen and you could hear the clanging of dishes and pans being washed. A guy came out of the back kitchen area in a wife beater t-shirt. This seemed inappropriate attire for a restaurant. A black button down shirt would have seemed more appropriate. This place seems to not be aware of creating an atmosphere for guests. The food was ok, but not great. Unfortunately, we will not be back. They need to get it together and do better. We heard that the former owner had passed on, but this staff does not appear to care enough to achieve greatness. read more

This looks like your local dive bar when you first walk in. Keep walking to the back, that's where the restaurant is located. Super friendly staff. Really good food. I had the hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. It was huge, comfort food for a cold rainy day! I ate half the sandwich and about 1/4 of the potatoes. I took the rest to go. I know what I'm having for my vacay breakfast tomorrow!! I wish I'd taken a picture of my plate for this review. My companion had the BLT on tomato rye and said it was great, loaded with bacon. pretty good! as of 8/13/25 this place does NOT have a liquor license! no liquor in this establishment! also out of diet pepsi. otherwise, we had a pretty decent meal here! sports bar vibe with lots of TVs. service was a tad slow. you can cook your own meat over their big open grill for $2 cheaper. all our food was good. not exceptionally mind blowing, but good. very large portions too. read more

Ordered the 16oz Ribeye, service was great. Salad came, a bit of romaine scattered on the plate, carrots and a red onion ring- dressing was in a little plastic container. Steak was cooked properly but was 40% fat and grizzle. Baked potato with two butter packets and a packet of sour cream, potato was small and dry. I paid about $55 for this meal not including the tip, I've had $20 steaks meals that were better. This could've been a good meal if they built a better salad with dressing in a cup on the side, better quality meat, cooked the potato properly and used real butter and sour cream in a cup- it would've taken the same time to make it really great. This place has to do better, going to give it another shot at the end of summer. I hope they improve, could be a great place. read more

Although they currently have no beer, wine or liquor the service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. We had the steak sandwich with fries and an order of fried pickles. The fries were crispy and hot and the steak on the sandwich was tender and flavorful. We were served by Tim and he was friendly and gave great advice on menu choices. read more

Recommended by our hotel, this place was certainly a "local's spot". I can see why she recommended it - very friendly staff, quick service, and an extensive menu that has something for everyone. I opted for a Rueben sandwich (on the homemade Sundried tomato bread), she had the Whitefish tacos. Onion Rings were excellent. Nice big portions. Prices were inexpensive really, considering the plate size. Only ding was they offer no bar - soft drinks and tea only. That Rueben sure would have been better if accompanied by an ice-cold Pilsner! read more

This has been the best meal of our Michigan trip. Our hotel recommended it and we are so glad we came. We sat at the bar to avoid the wait for a table. They currently do not have a liquor license since the passing of the owner in October 2023. You can grill your own steak. My boyfriend chose to do this. It was fun to grill along with the chef. They give you seasonings and garlic butter to put on your steak. He started with a salad that was made with spinach and fresh greens. It was nice to see they don't use iceberg lettuce! They don't make their own salad dressings. I had the homemade lasagna. It's huge and taste very good. I had the chicken soup to start and a side of sautéed green beans. The soup is homemade. All the food was high quality and well priced. There is plenty of parking in the attached lot. Staff was friendly and efficient. read more

I thought it was a bar. As mentioned before they lost their liquor license due to an owner passing away. Weird to see all these beer ads and then learn you can only get soft drinks. Service was great and the food was fairly good. They are working to get the liquor license back. I would recommend the place. Had fish tacos which were good except that they had about a cup of pico de gallo on each one which was a little weird. read more

I was hesitant due to other reviews but we had a nice time. The staff was genuinely happy, warm, and very attentive. The blackened trout was perfect and Spousal Unit enjoyed their whitefish. This was our first time coming to Munising and when my husband and I searched "best stakehouse in the area" 2 choices popped up: Elizabeth's in Marquette and Foggy's in Christmas. Save yourself the search and go to Foggy's. Our server, Denis, was friendly and had great descriptions of the food items on the menu. My husband got the 14 oz NY strip cooked medium with green beans, and I got the 14 oz Ribeye cooked medrare with a loaded baked potato. The crust on the stakes was crispy and delicious. The cook was perfect all the way through. And these were some thick stakes. It does take a bit for the food to come out but it is totally worth the wait. The potato was good and cheesy and my husband really enjoyed the green beans. We will definitely be back in the summer so we can grill our own stakes read more

Was recommended this place by our Pictured Rocks kayaking tour guide who grew up in the area; he said this is one of the few sit-down restaurants in the area. When we came, it was PACKED (some kind of game going on idk i don't speak sports) so they said we would have to wait 40 minutes. We went to ask about or status after 20 minutes and they ended up seating us right then? Anyways; server introduced himself and he was really nice! Made lots of jokes and was attentive even though they were crazy busy. I got a blackened whitefish with salad, mashed potatoes, and breadsticks. Whitefish was cooked to perfection. Loved the tartar sauce it came with. Mashed potatoes were also delicious and came with a gracious amount of gravy. Salad was a good bit of mixed greens and cherub tomatos and red onion. My partner got a New York strip medium rare; it was so juicy! Portion is incredibly generous. They cook it on this giant grill looking thing (apologies for my lack of cooking vocabulary) Also got a Blake's cider which was so good! Had high hopes for this place but those were crushed from the get-go. There was a wait (which is understandable on a Saturday night). The hostess took our name and encouraged us to wait in our car in the parking lot, saying the beepers work out there just fine. Cut to 30 minutes later- we went in to check our place on the list and multiple people behind us had been sat. I said this actually didn't work and she said oh the battery must be out and sat us- no apologies. No big deal- we'll grab a drink. We quickly learn that they cannot serve drinks as they don't have a liquor license- despite being attached to a bar?! Definitely was shocked- but ok. Would be good to have this clearly spelled out somewhere or in print, or mention it to folks when seating them- anyone from out of town would definitely assume you can get drinks in the restaurant and food at the bar- the places are one. And there is signage up all over the restaurant with beer and drinks. We had our soft drinks and an appetizer quickly which was great- but then dinner- oh dinner. We were starving. We then proceed to wait. And wait. And wait. We had first arrived at 7:30. It was around 9:40 when we actually got our food. Everyone avoided us- no one came by to apologize or explain the delay. Communication is key. My spouse and I have both worked in food service. We get that stuff happens, people forget to put in the order, but I mean, say something. Anything! Once it finally arrived, I asked for the check as I knew we wouldn't probably seeing our server again after delivering the food. I told my husband- I'm sure they'll offer a free dessert or maybe comp their ridiculous credit card fee for that experience- neither was true. We had to pay in full (including fee) for terrible service and meh food. We are out of towners- so maybe this was a one off but it was a very unfortunate one off for people trying to make the most of a special weekend and time away. What a disappointment. read more

The weather was fighting back the drizzles and refused to warm up. We bellied up to the bar where Becky greeted us warmly. She was quick with menus and drinks, explaining at the daily special was a French Dip sammich from the previous night's leftover prime rib special. As she said that, I saw at least four sets of eyes roll back into their respective heads. Suffice to say, the special was a popular and well-enjoyed choice. I didn't even crack the menu because I was not about to argue with four sets of rolling eyes! SH (Smokin'Hubster)ordered his usual Shrimp Basket and we settled in. We sipped our beers and chatted with the folks at the bar. There was a very friendly and welcoming vibe. The bar is decorated with sports memorabilia, particularly in support of my dear Detroit Red Wings. There were framed jerseys from Steve Y. (if you have to ask...) and Nicky Lidstrom and I was in my happy hockey place. The food arrived quickly and. I have no words. The portions were huge. I mean, we were hungry, but the plates were still daunting. Smokin'Hubster told me and Becky that he's never had so much shrimp in a shrimp platter. (ASIDE: He actually offered to share, which NEVER happens!). He even asked for more cocktail sauce, so take that as a tip. I was overcome by the delectable fumes from the dipping sauce, which was well-represented with garlic and rosemary. I usually hate to dip my sammiches - messy and what are you trying to hide? - but not this time. I dipped my fries. SH dipped his fries. The cheese was so stringy in every bite of sammich. I even used my fork to sweep up every bit that escaped the confines of the bun. I think Foggy's needs a sign or indication to folks driving by on Sundays that the French Dip special is available. Our waitress had a terrible attitude. ordered "pulled pork". it tasted like it came from a can. the waitress asked how the food was and I had only taken 2 bites and couldn't eat it. I replied that it was not good, she shrugged her shoulders and said it was fresh pulled pork. No smoker outside at all. I asked to speak to the manager and he came to the table and had an even worse attitude! Argued that there was nothing wrong with the food. No apologized at all! If it was good then why did I only eat 2 small bites, the pork was smushy and awful. terrible food and even worse attitudes. also prices only are definitely not right. We had reservations for 15. They accommodated our group and the waitress was very attentive and all orders were correct. The food came out hot but was delayed slightly as the place was busy. We were really hopeful about this place and excited to support a local business, but it was not the best. -At least this experience The food, it was a major letdown. The walleye dinner was overpriced for what was served. The fish was full of bones and underseasoned. The "seasoned rice" it came with was old, cold, and honestly just nasty. The menu claims the fish is fresh, but when I brought up the bones, our server casually mentioned that it was "freshly frozen"--which feels misleading. The fish tacos were okay at best, but very dry and underwhelming. Came up to visit the UP. We found this place from a google search and it looked great, however, our experience there was just okay. When we walked in there were children working there (one was greeting patrons and one was seasoning the steaks on the grill). Once seated our server was pleasant, but you can tell she was busy. The restaurant was busy but we didn't wait too long for our table. Since we weren't from the area and just assumed, we tried to order beer and a cocktail but they only had soda and ice tea. I found it strange since it is a steakhouse with posters advertising beer and wine. The food came out in a good time and was tasty. We gave Foggy's Steakhouse a try for dinner the other night. Calling themselves a steakhouse is quite a stretch. The atmosphere felt like a church basement where you have coffee and donuts after mass. Very, very awkward inside. We almost left right after we walked in. We decided to sit on the bar side because the dinning room was that strange feeling. The funny thing is they had a merch shop selling all sorts of clothes, and even a "hangover hoodie," however their liquor license has been pulled. The only drinks offered are Pepsi products. After a very long day driving to get here, that was very disappointing. We both ordered seafood. Both meals were fine. Nothing special. The service was fine, just not very friendly. I definitely would not go back though. Part of eating out is atmosphere, which there was none. And only having options of Pepsi or Mountain Dew is a major bummer! read more

DON'T BELIEVE THE ONLINE MENU!!! So disappointing. Recommend by a local, we had been looking forward to dinner there. We arrived and were seated. First thing we noticed was the menu prices were VERY much higher than the website. The 30 -40% higher prices shocked us! Misleading the customers in this manner should be criminal. A fish dinner listed on their website was $22 but at restaurant was $32. Fish tacos went from $13.50 to $18.00. After waiting for 15 minutes at our table and no greeting or drink order we watched another table get seated and immediately have a server take their drink order. We decided that this is not a place we wanted to give our business to so we left. read more

First off let me say the service was great. The server was friendly and the food came surprisingly fast. However, the food was nothing special. Granted, I didn't have the self proclaimed "best steak in the U.P." but I did have the seafood Alfredo and it was disappointing. The menu said it had shrimp, crab and scallops, which it did. The shrimp were popcorn size, the scallops were minuscule and the crab was shredded and few and far between. It was also extremely salty. The best part of the whole meal was the sautéed green beans. I'd expect more for $30. My wife had a cheeseburger which was a basic bar burger (I tried it) and nothing special for $16. The ingredients were fresh and it was cooked correctly. My daughter had the chicken fajitas and it was evident the seasoning was generic fajita seasoning. Again nothing special for $17. We ordered the crab Rangoon for an appetizer ($14) and they were good but nothing better than I've had at any dive bar. Add four percent for using a debit card (who carries cash?) and you can see how it might leave a bad taste in your mouth. (No pun intended) I didn't have the steak and lasagna combination because I had a porterhouse the day before, but at $43 I just couldn't justify it. I would expect more from a $93 tab plus tip. In a word, OVERPRICED. (Note: I described it as very loud because the couple next to us was yelling goodbye to the server who I'll assume they knew personally over and over, why he didn't ask them to calm down is beyond me. 3.5 stars here on our one visit. Quiet night here. Wide ranging menu. They have a unique large charcoal grill inside the restaurant but not being used during our visit. Maybe not in the off season. They use this for steaks etc. and allow patrons to grill their own and the price is reduced by three dollars. Interesting concept. Light meals for us here tonight. Two taco salads, one beef and one chicken. Shells were freshly fried, nice and puffy. The ground beef was not enjoyed by my DW. Meat was dry and there was a bad greens to meat ratio she felt. By comparison, my chicken was delicious. All the veggies were very fresh. I finished every morsel. Service was perfunctory. Hope to try out the grill someday. read more
