El Patron Grill and Cantina saved the day!!!!…read more The story My daughter and fiance are from out of town and planned their destination wedding to be in Denver. They contacted a local Mexican restaurant that confirmed tables for 20 people only a few days ago for their rehearsal dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant for the dinner we found that they gave our tables away to several random people and there were no reservations for us. A day earlier I seen El Patron Grill and Cantina when I checked into my hotel. I could see though the windows and it looked interesting enough that I checked out their vast menu on line. So when our reservations was canceled at the other restaurant I took to quick walk over El Patron Grill and Cantina and ask if they had room a party of 20 immediately. They said yes and here's where things took a turn for the better. They set up a nice long table where everyone had a comfortable seat. The placed chips and 3 kinds salsa on the table. We started by ordering drinks. They all were fantastic. Several of the guests had the house margarita. They were mixed to perfection. The bride had a Mojito. She loved it. Some of the guys had Modelo beer on tap. For food I had the Cheese Enchilada plate.(A gigantic plate consisting of 3 Enchiladas, re-fried beans and rice) The groom had the Birria Tacos. (with re-fried beans and rice) My wife had the Albanil Taco Plate. (3 shrimp tacos with re-fried beans and rice) Other items ordered were quesadilla La Patrona, Pulpo Loco Mixto, Deshebrada Taco Plate, Huevos Ranchetos, Polo Chimichanga, Chicken Fajitas. All these plates were gigantic. The children had a cheeseburger & french fries and chicken fingers and fries. El Patrone had something for everyone and everyone commented that the food was excellent. Our server, Jocelyn, was very attentive, fast and was just perfect. She even talked to the management and for dessert, gave my daughter and the groom a really nice cake. We also ordered some churros with whipped cream that were greatly enjoyed. The El Patron Grill and Cantina saved the day. We should have made the initial reservations with them instead of the other local restaurant. Everyone had a great time and we enjoyed every aspect of the rehearsal dinner. Thank you El Patron Grill and Cantina. You really saved the day.

A lot of places popped up, but this Mexican restaurant really stood out -- great reviews and the food pictures looked amazing. It's about 13 minutes from the airport, which made it super convenient. From the outside, it looks small, but once you walk in, it's surprisingly spacious. We were seated immediately, and our server was absolutely phenomenal -- so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. For an appetizer, we ordered the queso fundido with chorizo (you can choose corn or flour tortillas). This is one of my favorite dishes to get at any Mexican restaurant if they offer it, and this one did not disappoint. The cheese was perfectly melty and stretchy, and the chorizo had great flavor that paired so well with it. Wrapping that cheesy, savory goodness in a warm tortilla? So good. For my main dish, I ordered the quesabirria -- corn tortillas filled with birria and cheese, fried crispy, and served with consommé for dipping. It was decent, but I will say it didn't have quite as much flavor as I'm used to with quesabirria. Still enjoyable, just could've used a bit more seasoning. The beans were actually delicious and full of flavor, but the rice was a little bland and could've used some salt. Overall, the service was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and even though it was busy, everything came out in a timely manner. The prices were also very reasonable -- definitely not expensive for the quality and portions. I would absolutely come back to try other dishes. With just a little more seasoning in some areas, it would easily be a five-star spot for me!

Came here for Lunch with Mary on Saturday March 30th 2013. This establishment offers Mexican bakery, and some of Mexican food, that includes, Menudo, Smothered Burritos, Tacos, Tostadas, Tortas and the House Specials to name a few. You make your order at the counter. The lovely lady who takes your order will then send your food to the table where you will be seated. There are a few seating available in this establishment. The service was prompt and the food came out hot. I cant recall what Mary ordered but these were the items I ordered this afternoon : First Round : 1 Cabesa Taco 1 Lengua Taco Second Round : 1 Carne Asada (Steak) Taco 1 Tripa Taco I decide to order them separately coz I prefer to eat my Tacos hot, hence Round 1 and Round 2 respectively. Each Round Order cost me with tax $3.58 respectively. My total lunch cost was $7.16. The flavor was there but it does not WOW me as much as other Taqueria in town etc etc. If I am not mistaken, the pricing of each Taco that I order was between ($1.50-$1.80). As with regards to the portions of meat in each Taco, it was just A-OK. The lady who took our order also offer us 2 bottles of Salsa, one of Green and the other was Red. I prefer the Red Salsa or sauce coz its more spicier than the Green one. I so wish they could provide more options in terms of Salsa bar in which this establishment does not have. Nevertheless, I DO NOT MIND returning to order other stuffs with Hubs, when schedule permitting. Perhaps from there, my review might differ. @63/2013
