I was out doing some running around, and ended up on Gilbert Rd, north of Broadway, and saw a sign Birria. Im a sucker for Birria, so I stopped. When I entered, I was thinking I had made a mistake. The place was abuzz bit dingy looking. Ceiling tiles were water stained and dirty looking. The tile floor had some broken pieces and chunks missing. But, I was there. So I ordered two orders of the three queso birria tacos with consume, to go. The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and more than helpful. As I waited, I grabbed some salsa and limes from the fairy well stocked condiment cart. After ten or fifteen minutes, I got my order. There were around 6 or 7 people ahead of me, so it was a reasonable wait. I took my order and went home. This is where my opinion was changed. There was a decent amount of filling in the tacos. I took a sip of the consome, and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was! No grease layer on top (like so many others I have tried), just a well seasoned and savory broth. I dressed my tacos with lime and salsa, dipped into the consome, and took a bite. What a pleasure! The meat was tender, juicy and well seasoned. Not overdone with the cheese. Just a great bite! This was soooo much fun! The server was amazing, she was so sweet. She was helping us and actually talking to us. The food was really good, I feel the birria is best in the morning. We went late at night and it wasn't as good as it has potential to be. The quesibirrias were so good for me. They were tiny and the juicy. They broke immediately after biting into it but it broke evenly to eat in pieces. We also got a FOOTLONG SONORAN HOTDOG. It's perfect for 2 people. I had an horchata that was so huge! Literally! But it was the last bit and it was TOTALLY worth it. It was refreshing and delicious. The only sad part was the bar has sooo much potential but the little tiny cups for lime and cucumber is so sad. Such a hidden gem. Whenever I have friends in town, this is where I take them. Their Sonoran hot dogs seriously can't be beat and everyone I've taken loves this place. Wow just wow!! My son and I have by dying to try quesabirria tacos for a long time. We stumbled up this restaurant because the one we first went to was closed. Thank goodness for that because this place made our first experience with quesabirria tacos amazing! We dined in instead of ordering togo. We were greeted right away. The server was friendly and helpful because we almost ordered the wrong thing. She steered us in the right direction. I ordered one taco my son had two. The food came out pretty quick and it was fresh and piping hot. My son is a picky eater so I was silently nervous that he would find something wrong with the tacos. NOPE! This kid devoured his tacos. He had the juice from the broth it served to dip the tacos in running down his chin and he didn't even care. He said this is his new favorite food. Shayla (not sure how she spells it) is super friendly & had great customer service & suggestions. I have been here a handful of times & it's usually pretty slow but I think I have just lucked out on times I go cause I've driven by & seen it super busy. I tend to get their Queso Birria Combo with 3 tacos & a small cup of consomme to dip into. The tacos are some of the best queso Birria tacos in the area (& there are a ton of taco shops in the area.) They have a great full flavor, a bunch of cheese but they are a bit small for the price. The 3 tacos do not fill me up, I usually get a pregnant (stuffed with cheese) senoran style hotdog as well to fill me up but it's over like $17 so it's pretty pricey for a lunch. Also their consomme is really really good 1/2 the time (to where I could just drink a whole bowl of it) & very whatever & bland the other 1/2 the time so it's a bit hit or miss. They also have a decent salsa bar & plenty of seating inside. Just a heads up they are closed on Wednesdays. read more

If you want fresh, homemade and delicious Mexican food. This is the place! All the food was amazing, I loved the cheese, which was plentifully and melty goodness. I loved the hot dog bread that melted in my mouth. The gordita De Res that was the perfect combination of crunchy on the outside and pillow soft on the inside. Every single piece of meat I consumed was flavorful and tender. I could go on and on but the bottom line is, I'll be back. Oh wait! The red sauce is a spicy heaven sauce, I put on everything! They should bottle that and sell it! Just look at the pictures, presentation and serving size with affordable pricing, they have a customer for life. And to top off all that the service matched the food (chefs kiss!) When I walked in to place my order, I was so happy that the menu had pictures I could just point to (because my Spanish pronunciation is no bueno) they were very nice, patient and helpful with my ordering process. My first experience with Sonoran style hotdogs, and the buns are so good, and the whole hotdog is very very good. I honestly don't love the bacon wrapped around it, but it's OK and everything else more than makes up for it. My son had a Vampiro tostada, which was excellent as well, great flavor. I believe the others in my family had hotdogs at night, and we all loved it. The second trip, the cashier told us that they had change the menu a little bit. I had a hotdog and a taco, and the rest of my family had tacos. I did the Vampiro with Al Pastor, it was excellent! They all seemed to like theirs as well. My wife thought the tacos were just ok, she had chicken tacos. The restaurant was nice and clean.
