Just tried this place for the first time today. It was mentioned in the AZ Republic as one of the best taco places. I got the Birria taco combo. You get 3 tacos and a drink. The tacos were delicious. The taste is great! Comes with the Birria meat, onions,cheese and cilantro. It also comes with the consume sauce. I got the horchata for my drink and I thought it was great! The only downside is that this place is not cheap. The Birria taco combo was $17 each. If you come on Monday then it's $3 off. There's a different special each day. The food came pretty quick but we were there for a late lunch (after 1pm) so it was empty when we arrived. Other reviews said the tacos were small or didn't have enough meat, but I thought they were fine. I will probably be back again because I like Birria tacos. read more

Came here for a quick dinner on a weeknight. We were greeted as soon as we came in. They have several typical options for tacos and burritos. The have birria tacos including a birria ramen option which is interesting. The burrito came with fries which was also interesting. The burrito was good but nothing amazing. The fries were really good and I really liked the "spot sauce" that came with it. Not really spicy but just a bit of a bite. Sweet, smokey and tangy! The restaurant was very clean. Great lunch spot. The meats in the taco were very flavorful. I wish they added cheese into the birria but I guess I coulda asked for it, I thought it's a normal ingredient. The birria ramen was yummy. They have cases of the ramen and I think they just use the consome as the broth so it's very flavorful. I had just gone to an Italian restaurant to get a pizza and stood there for 10 minutes, they walked by and they wouldn't pay no attention to me so I walked out so I stopped by here. Ordered a 3 birria taco combo with consume. The portion was insulting. $17 for 3 tacos with barely any meat. I'm usually not one to complain about my food but I was not about to eat these like this. Brought it up to the counter and explained how there wasn't enough meat to call it a taco. The young lady went and talked to kitchen staff, she came back out and said "this is the normal amount they use in the tacos". LOL. She did bring me a small cup of more meat but it shouldn't even have come to this. I'm glad they tried to make it right but I'll never come back for portions like this for $17. What I ordered: Aquas Frescas Horchata - 2/5 To me, this was a let down. It's just watery tasting. I'm gonna drink it because this dry heat is no joke, but meh. Chicken Quesadilla - 5/5 Yeah this was really good. It came with two sauces, one green tomatillo and one creamy red one. Both sauces, delicious. But the creamy red is super spicy so go in lightly at first. The chicken inside is perfectly seasoned and juicy. The cheese is on point. It's such a basic quesadilla, but they nailed it 100%. Oh and the customer service was good! The lady at the counter was friendly, let me know details about the items I was considering ordering without me asking her to. It's cute inside with the wall art, they have a wonderful menu to order from. So many great options... We ended up getting the Birria Ramen & 2 Birria Tacos Combo Loaded fries and the burrito taco and fry combo! Everything was so satisfying, the tacos with the ramen were absolutely delicious the taco dipped in the spicy broth was mouthwatering literally couldn't wait for the next bite! I am so disappointed in saying this that this taco spot should be a taco not. Rude a** cashier a real beyotch Not only does it false advertisement with the pictures it has online, but it's skimps out on the food with portions that are not even the same amount as it shows on the pictures. we live in an American consumer economy so advertising is everything when I compare pictures which I have posted. You can clearly see the Beria taco is nothing compared to the one posted online the Carne Asada fries is just Carne Asada plus fries there's no cheese no beens . A half a star if I would be able to rate them that it looks like I will not be having a new taco spot near me since this would have been a convenient one. I'll have to keep searching since this was a total letdown. You're now going down as an inadequate business for substantially claiming to be a good food place. Parking lot was clean, loved the bright sign on the windows and doors walking up. As we walked in, the music and vibes were on point. I didn't know what reggaeton music was until my BF pointed it out but the music was awesome. I want to start off the the tacos, the best one out of them was the chicken, this was the first chicken taco that wasn't dry, the rest was okay. But the birria ramen, if you enjoy the soup part then this is your place to enjoy they're birria ramen. i visit this location pretty often and will never visit this location again. i went taco tuesday and got served 6 tacos 4 out of the 6 tacos were served w black nats in my actual tacos as i realized eating them . im so grossed out by this i have app etc bc i enjoy there street tacos but never again ive been trying to reach a manager all week 3 times a day and girls have rude service everytime i come and rude phone service over the phone keep avoiding a supervisor dont take my number down to at lease have a manager call me back for as much as ive called this week. i wasnt served fresh as i usually am and will never visit a taco spot ever again . dont go here visit a different location there customer service sux period and they dont serve you the same!!! read more

What we ordered: Surf & Turf Taco Carne Asada Taco Birria Ramen Pastor Burrito Carne Asada Fries Horchata All of it was super delish, but the highlights were their tacos (especially the "special sauce" on the surf and turf. It's sooo good and you can order it as a side to just put on ERRTHANG) and the Birria Ramen. The Pastor would be great as a taco, but I wasn't a fan of the amount of meat I got in the burrito with the rice. It was good, not great. Same with the fries. I feel like when you do loaded fries they have to start extra crispy so they maintain while ur eating. These started soft so we're soggy by the end. There's alooooooot of hype to live up to at The Taco Spot. For me it was good but def not the best I have had in the area. Basically nothing can touch Elmer's Tacos so take my opinion for what it's worth and understand this review is essentially a direct comparison of the two. Today's meal was birria tacos. Tacos are $3.99 each and you have to purchase your consume extra for $1.50. (At Elmer's you get all that for $7.99.) The tacos were good but could have been crispier and with birria tacos my preference is cheese on the bottom. The consume left a lot to be desired. Both times I have eaten there it felt like the consume sat on a burner way too long and lacked the depth of flavor I'm used to at Elmer's. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but just doesn't hold a candle to others. The plus however is they are served every day of the week vs Elmer's only on Fri & Sat. The Taco Spot is right by my neighborhood so I go there often. I'll be completely honest and say when it comes to tacos, theirs are fine but there are better in town. However, their birria is pretty solid and their loaded fries are fantastic. The other thing I love is their aquas frescas which are always on point. My order is either the birria quesadilla on corn or the asada loaded fries. All in all you can't go wrong with a meal at the Taco Spot if you're looking for a pretty solid casual Mexican food option that is great for takeout or dining in. read more
