We ordered the #1 Birria Tacos with consommé and a fountain drink, along with the chicken burritos since they were on sale too. Overall, the flavors were good. The spicy red and green sauces that came with the burritos really elevated them, although the chicken itself was a bit dry. The red sauce has a nice kick that leaves a slight tingle on your lips without being overwhelming. The birria tacos were the highlight. The rich consommé and melted cheese complemented the tacos well and made for a satisfying bite. Overall, it was a good meal, but without the sauces, the chicken lacked a bit of moisture and flavor. Even so, it definitely hit the spot and satisfied our taco craving. We'd order again--especially if another BOGO deal comes around. read more

My order was wrong (I ordered charro beans but received bland refried beans), the portions were small, and the birria tacos were dry, had no melted cheese, and looked nothing like the photos. I was also overcharged. I called that night, but no manager was available. I had to return the next day for a refund, wait to be helped, and the manager still wasn't there. Just tried this place for the first time today. It was mentioned in the AZ Republic as one of the best taco places. I got the Birria taco combo. You get 3 tacos and a drink. The tacos were delicious. The taste is great! Comes with the Birria meat, onions,cheese and cilantro. It also comes with the consume sauce. I got the horchata for my drink and I thought it was great! The only downside is that this place is not cheap. The Birria taco combo was $17 each. If you come on Monday then it's $3 off. There's a different special each day. The food came pretty quick but we were there for a late lunch (after 1pm) so it was empty when we arrived. Other reviews said the tacos were small or didn't have enough meat, but I thought they were fine. I will probably be back again because I like Birria tacos. read more

Great lunch spot. The meats in the taco were very flavorful. I wish they added cheese into the birria but I guess I coulda asked for it, I thought it's a normal ingredient. But the creamy red is super spicy so go in lightly at first. The chicken inside is perfectly seasoned and juicy. The cheese is on point. It's such a basic quesadilla, but they nailed it 100%. Ordered a 3 birria taco combo with consume. The portion was insulting. $17 for 3 tacos with barely any meat. I'm usually not one to complain about my food but I was not about to eat these like this. Brought it up to the counter and explained how there wasn't enough meat to call it a taco. We were driving by and the Taco Spot caught our eye with the banner they have up! It's in a nice quiet plaza with good parking! It's cute inside with the wall art, they have a wonderful menu to order from. So many great options... We ended up getting the Birria Ramen & 2 Birria Tacos Combo Loaded fries and the burrito taco and fry combo! I didn't know what reggaeton music was until my BF pointed it out but the music was awesome. Over priced mediocre food. Overwhelming smell of cleaning products when I walked through the door. Could be worse, but I'd rather smell the food in the air. What we ordered: Surf & Turf Taco Carne Asada Taco Birria Ramen Pastor Burrito Carne Asada Fries Horchata All of it was super delish, but the highlights were their tacos (especially the "special sauce" on the surf and turf. It's sooo good and you can order it as a side to just put on ERRTHANG) and the Birria Ramen. The Pastor would be great as a taco, but I wasn't a fan of the amount of meat I got in the burrito with the rice. It was good, not great. Same with the fries. I feel like when you do loaded fries they have to start extra crispy so they maintain while ur eating. These started soft so we're soggy by the end. I want to start off the the tacos, the best one out of them was the chicken, this was the first chicken taco that wasn't dry, the rest was okay. But the birria ramen, if you enjoy the soup part then this is your place to enjoy they're birria ramen. Last but not least the aqua Fresca de melon, you can taste the freshness and it's so smooth and delicious. I'll definitely go back for another drink. The service was friendly and calm. There's alooooooot of hype to live up to at The Taco Spot. For me it was good but def not the best I have had in the area. Basically nothing can touch Elmer's Tacos so take my opinion for what it's worth and understand this review is essentially a direct comparison of the two. Today's meal was birria tacos. Tacos are $3.99 each and you have to purchase your consume extra for $1.50. (At Elmer's you get all that for $7.99.) The tacos were good but could have been crispier and with birria tacos my preference is cheese on the bottom. The consume left a lot to be desired. Both times I have eaten there it felt like the consume sat on a burner way too long and lacked the depth of flavor I'm used to at Elmer's. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad but just doesn't hold a candle to others. The plus however is they are served every day of the week vs Elmer's only on Fri & Sat.
