I frequent this spot and I've never had a negative experience. My usual is the asada tacos with onion and cilantro on a corn tortilla but Ive tried them all and are fantastic! This is a very nice quaint Mexican restaurant and bar. The decor is nice but pretty plain overall. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Our waitress was. Dry attentive and kept our waters, chips and salsa full. I got the taco dinner and my guest got the enchiladas. Both were very fresh and very flavorful. The portions are very good. Met up with friend in Speedway for lunch and gave this place a try. Chips and a variety of salsas that were just ok but come to table free:). They offer a lunch menu which is what we ordered. Had chicken chimichanga and pork street tacos. Black beans were best part as something I love although quite salty so beware. Food average but service was good. Pepsi products are offered along with variety of alcohol beverages. Street parking. Not fancy. read more

We love the food and the margaritas here! It's kind of a hole in the wall and limited seating. Good for date night, solo date night, or a small group or family. The tacos are delicious every single time! We recently got this giant margarita to share and it was so fun :) the service is always good, and quite speedy. They also have cocktail specials here and there so you can always try something new. They have a very small patio area out front for the summer that we've been told is dog friendly. read more

I've just moved to Speedway and have been systematically checking out all the places in downtown. Tacos and Tequila is my new favorite Mexican. The prices are amazing, the margaritas come with tajin on rim, and the owners are literally the hostess and the cook. I got three chorizo street tacos ($3.00 each), a huge side of refried beans ($4) and a lime marg with tajin on the rim ($8). read more

Everytime I go to Tacos and Tequila, it's always a super fun time! I mean anything with "tequila" in the name, will always get my money LOL! The servers are super friendly and down to earth, the food is amazing, and they do NOT hold back on the alcohol! My first time eating here was for my bestfriends 22nd birthday. The kitchen staff and waiter showed us so much love with free decorated churros, and now it's tradition for us to go for everyone's birthday! I expected better margaritas. Tasted as if there was no tequila at all, and I ordered the Cadillac $14:( Although they advertised tequila I never saw a bottle anywhere in sight! Also they offer a flight yet no prices. They biggest they have is 20oz not even a pitcher. The fajita's came with no additional toppings like sour cream or lettuce. I loved the big pepper on top though! The quesadilla had minimal chicken but tasted good. The salsa in the bottle is nice but they were all very bland. Unfortunately the branding needs some assistance to live up to the name. The staff was awesome and attentive though. Side note they charge a cc fee :( read more

I had a lunch date her with a dear friend and we both had a taste for tacos. We both had never been there so we wanted to check it out. The waitress was really nice and she answered all of our questions. It wasn't really busy but there were a few people sitting outside. I ordered 3 tacos with rice (steak, chicken, shrimp) and a margarita. My friend ordered a chimichanga. The waitress suggested the classic (house) margarita so that's what I ordered. I tried 2 times to drink it but the first time it came out really sour and the second time it was way too sweet. I had two sips and I gave up. I was still charged for it because the waitress said she can't take it off the bill? Never heard of that before but whatever... I didn't make a big deal of it. She also never asked if I wanted something else...at that point I could've had a soda. I settled for my water. The food was very flavorful!!! I enjoyed everything on my plate until I found a hair in my food. I showed my friend and at that point I had already prayed over my food so I just took the L and enjoyed our conversation. The lady back there making the food didn't have on a hairnet but her hair was pulled back in a ponytail. It happens but I honestly didn't want to hear the wrong response from the waitress like she had with my drink so I let it go. My friend also enjoyed her food as well. She didn't have any issues... she had soda. I think the waitress makes the drinks along with serving. If it's going to be a taco and margarita joint I think it's a disservice if you can't have a bartender or someone to make a decent drink. I would go back but now I know what not to order. The prices are decent and the food comes out fairly quick. The environment is cool and overall the food was fresh and good. read more

My veggie tacos didn't stand a chance for me to take a picture. This was my first time going and it definitely won't be my last. While taking my order, the waitress looked down and said hey. We have the same ring. After that I knew she could be trusted. I told her to hook me up with a veggie taco because I don't eat meat. My taco was filled with veggies, black beans, and rice. Friendly, attentive service. Fresh made, delicious guacamole. Margarita menu as long as my arm. Tasty and generous birria tacos. Another taco and Mexican food on the books! If you're in speedway please go to this place and try their birria tacos. You'll thank me! They were extremely flavorful oh and the fajitas were so good as well! It was a lot of food but definitely recommend to eat outside while the weather is nice. Service was great! And the margaritas were pretty powerful and had us in a great mood! Will come back for sure! read more

Whenever I am in the mood for good margaritas and food I always come here. This visit I tried the carnitas chimichangas and they were so good and very filling. I always get the same drink every visit because the mango margarita on the rocks with the Tajín rim never disappoints. And the churros with ice cream are always so good. The service is always the best, they will always check up on you and make sure everything is satisfactory. The whole atmosphere is just wonderful, I always feel welcomed every visit and I definitely need to make it here at least every two weeks. I also love how if you download the touch tunes app you can be the DJ of the restaurant. read more

The salsa was so watery, no onions or cilantro just tasted like water and ketchup. The queso wasn't good at all. I ordered the birria taco dinner and they tasted like plastic. Also got steak fajitas and steak was so bland. I won't go back. And service was slow and it wasn't busy. read more

I wanted to go somewhere we had never been for dinner and ended up here! The weather was beautiful, perfect for their outdoor seating. I failed to take a picture of the menu, but they had lots of taco options to choose from. I'm not sure if it's daily or only one night a week, but they offer a $1.50 taco special. I ordered 1 chicken, fish, & shrimp taco. My husband and I both agreed the fish taco was by far the best. The man who was our server was super funny and friendly. I like a laid back server who can joke around with us and offer recommendations. I had the house margarita $4 & my husband had their horchata. He said it was delicious. The house margarita was okay and could have used some more alcohol, but someone else might really like it. Overall I'd love to come back for the fish tacos and the outdoor seating. Heard this place was great so we stopped by. We ordered the Cadillac margaritas, they were good, but a couple dollars higher than comparable Restaurants. The salsa was ok, but chips tasted stale. My husband had the beef tongue taco. He raved about how yummy they were. I ordered the shrimp taco and the beef taco. The shrimp was chopped up super tiny and over cooked. The beef taco was ok. They had good music playing, but the staff was sitting in the dining room playing with their phones, not on mute. My big thump downs is for cleanliness. The floor looked like it could have been swept if the staff had time to play on their phones. The salsa bottle top was jammed (had to take off the lid). There was an open bottle of ketchup on table with no lid and looked like a collection of a few days dust bunnies on it. Overall, food was ok. Happy we checked it out. read more

This place is near the speedway. It sits on a quaint bar/restaurant/shop style street. We decided to eat there and the inside is small but quaint. They have a very large variety of margarita flavors. We tried three flavors ( piña colada, pineapple and banana) and were not disappointed. They were fantastic I ordered the lunch plate of 1/2 steak chimichanga and a side of street corn. They added a pour of white queso on top of the chimi. It was crisp on the outside and filled with flavor on the inside. I added my street corn to my chimi. The wait staff was super helpful to answer all of our questions and assisted as as visitors in the town on places to go. We would visit again read more

Small, cozy taco joint right off Main Street in Speedway. It's certainly not authentic, but it's good. The tacos are street style - small on corn tortillas with just cilantro and onion. I had the shrimp and the fish. The latter was recommended by the waitress who said it was her favorite. I was skeptical because I'd never heard of a grilled catfish taco, but I gave it a try. It was pretty good--well seasoned! Staff seems attentive and pretty no-nonsense. The waitress was patient and helpful as it was my first time though. She recommended the elote (corn) and guacamole as sides. I had the guac, which was literally a side (see pictured). But the chips were warm and extra crispy so I had no problem eating them naked. Plus she gave me all three of their hot sauces/salsas to try. Their salsa is different in a good way. I liked it. Plus my food came out in less than 5 minutes so needless to say I was pleased! read more

This is a small little Mexican restaurant located on Main Street. I ordered my favorite a chorizo torta w fries. This bad bot was huge and cooked to perfection. Had a fried egg and everything else on it. No cheese which was even better. I felt like a pig bc I ate the whole thing. I was super hungry but I have zero regrets and would do it again. Top it off w my new fav Topo Chico Seltzer and my night was solid. I was not a huge fan of their salsa but that is ok bc I normally fill up in chips. My husband got a taco dinner and I had to snag his grilled jalapeño. Again this is in our list of go to restaurants since we are so close. read more

Taco Tuesday! This restaurant isn't you run-of-the-mill American taco joint. The have authentic Mexican street tacos (cabeza, lengua, cecina, etc.). And they have several homemade taco sauces (in bottles in your table). Service is a little iffy (slow to refill drinks and bring our check) but I can overlook that because the tables are so tasty. read more

I love when i finally try somewhere after a year and its incredible! Small cute place on main street with a patio. The menu is filled with all the necessary mexican food you could want! We got guacamole and queso to start and both were delicious! Bonus was that it was half off appetizers! #winning! They bring you 3 types of hot sauce and the roja is addictive but so hot lol. Ordered elota, chicken quesadilla and steak taco also. I wasnt a fan of the elota as i felt it had a tangy taste to it. I am a huge elotes fan in general so could just be me because waitress said people love it. Chicken quesadilla was huge and great also! Authentic Mexican food! I got 3 tacos and they were great. My table shared a pitcher of strawberry margs but I think it was too weak. I barely drink and I downed 2 full glasses and felt nothing. It wasn't that packed since it was a random weekday evening, so we got seated immediately. Service was quick and friendly. I ended up getting a steak taco, shrimp taco, and rice. It was really good and flavorful. I really enjoyed it! My friend ordered the chicken quesadilla which was delicious. SO much flavor and it was a very large portion. Okay! Come through tacos and tequila. Even though I ordered food to go, it tasted so fresh and it was still hot like it just came off the skillet. I did think it was weird that they don't give you chips and salsa to go when you order an entree. Or maybe they just forgot, idk. But I still enjoyed my meal nonetheless. We started off with 2 baskets of complimentary warm chips that were served with 3 choices of salsa and our own serving dishes and salsa bottles (see photo). Enjoyed an order of large tacos and an entree of chimichanga's. The service wasn't aggressive timing wise, but was just right in spacing out our dining experience. Somehow I think because I ordered water and the Mrs ordered a soda, our tab was just over $15, and an hour later writing this I am still stuffed! Ambience -Such a perfect night cool breezy in August to enjoy Speedway and this incredible restaurant. We dined outdoors and found free parking right out front. A little quite here for a Sat night at 6pm, likely because of storms earlier and forecast that called for more storms. It was gorgeous cool sunny and blue sky instead! read more

We really enjoy this place! Food and drinks are always good and mostly very reasonably priced. Although the queso is fantastic, it does seem expensive for the amount you get. I know its in a smaller, older Speedway building, but I wish thee was more seating available. read more

This was not the case. Cooked perfectly. I was able to order the Old Fashioned. They apologized because they were out of oranges but I was fine. It was a very good drink. There happened to be two musicians performing. I was quite impressed. This tavern was very very impressive. We all agreed to return Our final stop was Herrmann. It's a small brewery tucked away off a quiet street. We were offered several tastings of the beers on offer. We were all able to find something to our liking. I had a porter. There are tables for four spread around the seating area. It's comfortable and definitely a neighborhood haunt. All three places were definitely neighborhood taverns. Allowing ball throwing in a packed dining area creates unnecessary safety risks for guests, servers, and pets. A simple rule against throwing footballs/baseballs in the seating area -- or designating a separate play space -- would make a huge difference and help preserve the relaxed brewery environment many customers come for. The beer and staff were great, but the outdoor experience would improve significantly with a little more structure and supervision.
