I came here to support a friend playing piano, and it also turned out to be the first hosted Ladies Night! The third Thursday of each month, they plan to host a Ladies Night with new appetizers and cocktails. They ended up doing a raffle at the end for a gift card for everyone who came out. The ambience here was very cozy and we really enjoyed the piano music and drinking wine with our friends. All of us loved our wine, from flights to glasses. We were also a fan of the peppermint white russian.. you MUST try it after you had your wine fix. The Tour Charcuterie board is $30, was surprised it didn't come with crackers but our table enjoyed. My favorite was the pimento cheese dip which is served with fresh bread and veggies. The bread is crispy, soft in the middle - we also got a separate bread basket which comes with that tasty bread and baguette toast, and three small spreads (honey butter, mustard, beer cheese). The garlic parmesean fries were a hit. Lastly, the BBQ pizza was just okay. There was a backup in the kitchen so it took a little bit longer to get our food, but management acknowledged this and said they are still working out some kinks (not sure if it had to do with the turnout or the new menu). It also took an unusually long time to get our check and to pay, one waitress didn't seem thrilled our party of 6 wasn't on 1 check and never came back. One different employee was walking around with a pad to all tables and checking everyone out, so obviously this took some time. Since we weren't in a rush, we were patient and didn't mind. The manager was walking around and talking to each table, making sure everyone got a raffle which helped with the wait. I look forward to coming back and know they are looking to improve the few things stated above. Thanks for a great Ladies Night!

If you love wine and Indycar, then you will love this place. There's a great selection of wine and other spirits. A small food menu is available too. A great spot for meeting up with friends or for date night.

My daughter had her wedding reception at Foyt Wine Vault in Speedway on 9/30/23. We were there on its opening night back in May 2016 and being the race fans that we are, it was a no-brainer to rent this cozy and charming place. The space was perfect and Katherine (Katie) was THE BEST! From the initial planning to the final weekend she was always available to us. After several meetings and many text messages, she helped us pull off a very memorable event. She handled all the catered food from selection to presentation. When it came to our decorating ideas she was so accommodating and helpful. If you need a rental space for your special event you should consider renting the Foyt Wine Vault. Katie will make sure you have a wonderful time!

Lovely, classy spot on the west side Came with a group on a weekday night and it was fairly quiet. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the racing displays are rather interesting. We enjoyed wine and a cheese plate. The cheese plate had a great variety of quality cheeses. The service was friendly and prompt. Definitely recommend coming here for a nicwe happy hour, especially if you have a race fan in your group!

What a cool venue! My wife and I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and the place was pretty quiet. We sat in the bar area on the left (there is a larger seating and lounge area to the right). Before eating, I browsed some of the A J Foyt Memorabilia gathered along the walls and an actual race car over in the lounge area. I then tried a flight of the white wine samples: Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. You only get a small pour of each, but enough to get a few sips. I really liked the Riesling (my favorite of the three). Our lunch arrived and I got the BBQ Chicken Flatbread while my wife ordered a salad with an upgrade of chicken strips added. The salad was large and only loosely chopped, so she did need to cut it into smaller, more bite sized, pieces. They also brought her a couple types dressing on the side since they didn't have exactly what she wanted. She enjoyed her meal and there was enough for a to go box. My flatbread was about 8" x 12" cut into eighths. The BBQ sauce was sweet and tangy and the chicken was cubed, still moist, and warm. The flatbread was also topped with sliced red onion and cheese. Very good! I thought the crust had just the right amount of crunch and held its shape despite the toppings. Definitely recommended! Overall, we had a fun time and enjoyed our meals and the wine. Be sure to check their hours since they are somewhat restricted. Also, be aware that the space is sometimes reserved for private parties that you may not be aware of until you arrive. (Hopefully they can add a calendar to their website to show blackout dates.) Review #2138

Great multi purpose and functional space - A historic museum, baby grand piano entertainment, big screen tv for sports, great eats on the menu, nice bar area with rotating drafts and wine. Romantic setting getaway in the heart of speedway.

Ribbon cutting on the opening day.

Had a fun experience at the opening of the Foyt Wine Vault during Indy 500 race week. The public was invited to participate in the ribbon cutting, which was done by AJ Foyt. The family is really investing a lot in Speedway, which makes me so happy, as a home grown Hoosier from Indianapolis, and big race fan. I'm familiar with Foyt Family Wines due to my work in the industry in Sonoma Valley. I was excited to hear that the Vault was opening during my recent visit to Indy. The facility is beautiful. I didn't know what to expect, and I was taken aback by the hardwood, amazing race memorabilia and genuineness of the family and staff. Don't be surprised if you run into co-owners and former racecar drivers Larry or Anthony Foyt! They're happy to sign bottles, too. I enjoyed their Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, but I'm bias being from Sonoma Valley. If you aren't into wine, you can enjoy a local beer on tap or in bottle. They also offer locally made cheese, charcuterie, and chocolate, the latter from the Best Chocolate In Town (and it is!). They are also open late, giving it a lounge feel. Can't wait to visit the Foyt Wine Vault upon my next visit to Indy.

If you love wine and racing this is your kinda place! Beautifully decorated- some really great historical pictures and memorabilia. Not to mention the wine was very tasty as well! I had the Red wine 3 fling- it was very nice. Would order a full glass of any of them again They also have a nice choice of beers and other alcohol Fast and very friendly server. I loved that you can have a glass of wine and walk around and look at some fun items too

This was a great stop on a night before the race. It was a little loud because of the open environment, but that drowns out once you are among good friends and good drink. If your not a wine fan, they have a few bottles of liquor and traditional mixers as well as a few beers and Meade. With AJ Foyt memorabilia all around, this is a must stop.

AJ Foyt's family owns wineries in California. This is the family sharing their wine in a neat place. They have racecar memorabilia all over the bar. The wine vault has many seating options. The atomophere is very laid back. I had a glass of Reisling, which tasted great. The wine vault has a good selection of drinks and reasonably priced. The waitress has you pay on a machine that takes cards and can email or text the receipt. AJ Foyt's Wine Vault is a charming place and a great addition to the Speedway area.

Now - I know speedway might not seem like the most bustling place to hang outside of the Month of May but my how they're building this part of town up, and my how I love it! My office took us on a surprise trip around Indy one day and we stopped at Foyt's Wine Vault. (Disclaimer: I work for a Motorsports agency so we tend to like us some racing!) but regardless of the very evident connection to a sport we are all familiar with - this place was awesome! We got to be there for a quote on quote private event (really they just opened up a bit early for us but I digress....) The ambiance and decorations were just so great here and the TV and shuffle board make it than a normal wine establishment. I got the fight of red and absolutely loved the pivot and the cab. Wasn't wild about the blend - but the other two made up for it. But to the star of the day - the charcuterie! Holy heck was it delicious. Between the pickles, the cranberry sauce and all the delicious cheeses I was in heaven. I cannot wait to return.

Try the truffles! Our recommendation is: Dark Lemon!
    Karen T.

Came here for wine and dessert April 28th near 6:30 pm during a much-needed outing with dear friends. I LOVE how this street is flourishing. This is one of several new places that have opened since I visited the area last year. The space is beautiful with the racing memorabilia and photos you would expect. The ambiance is suitable for: Girls Night Out, Date Night, taking out of town guests or just about any other reason you can think up. The service was friendly and attentive. After a round of flights, our party of three unexpectedly settled on the same glass of wine: a sparkling rose. Before the night was thru, one of our party had signed up for the quarterly wine program. Those truffles! Our original intention was to enjoy one each. However, we had another friend join us who ordered one of each so we could sample them all. We decided as a group of four that our absolute top pick was the Dark Lemon. Oh my lands. I'm starting to drool just thinking of it. Final Assessment: Nice Ambiance, Attentive Service, Exceptional Wine, Amazing Truffles 5 Stars ALL DAY LONG!

Outdoor seating with a glass of rose' and the sound of racing!

We asked for more bread and they gave it free of charge. I ordered the Della Casa and it was the best plate of pasta I've ever eaten. The flavors melted together in a creamy tomato sauce with the perfect amount of spice. It was genuinely the best sauce for a seafood pasta and the shrimp and noodles were both cooked properly and to perfection. Nothing was overcooked. Every bite was like heaven. I tried my friend's pastas as well and the Tortellacci was suprisingly so tasty. The amount of lemon they add in the sauce pairs so nicely with the cheeses they used. I say "surprisingly so tasty" because to the naked eye it doesn't look that special but when you take a bite your eyes get big because it's so good lol. The chicken was also insanely tender!!! I do wish the service was a little better. I feel like our waiter forgot about us and we barely got checked on during our time there, but the food made up for it. The service was friendly and was knowledgeable especially with their drinks. We came during happy hour and the options for a spritz were a lot for this newbie, but our waitress was kind and informative. We started with a half order of summer caprese, which was stock full of strawberries and watermelon. The nuts were old, and there wasn't much of a lemon vinaigrette and balsamic drizzle leaving the salad kind of tasteless. There were three kinds of oysters available and they were exactly as described. They tasted fresh and presented well. Unfortunately the mussels we ordered were the opposite of the oysters. It had an unpleasant odor, the mussels were rubbery, and there was not much flavor in the chili broth with butter and beer. It appears these were overcooked. As for the Bolognese, the fettuccine was cooked perfectly, however the sauce was lacking depth and attributes of a slow-cooked, simmered sauce made with wine, mirepoix, and some quality tomatoes. While the staff here are attentive and friendly, the food left a lot to be desired. The drinks were a highlight, and the bread a good start, but the entree's need more attention.

Everyone form the hostess to the bartender and bus boy were friendly and welcoming. definitely 5* for service. The menu is a mix of several cuisines from Korean to Italian and even some French with a twist. The menu has great vegetarian options. Unfortunately the chef's tasting menu wasn't available as my reservation was made same day, but I decided to go with the two specials of the day. Dinner kicked off with a shot of Champaign on the house They like welcoming their guests that way. Water kept being refilled immediately. The staff again was very attentive. As an appetizer I went with the Scallops crudo with house made berry vinegar. The crudo was a healthy serving of scallops. Crispy raw carrots and radish provide some texture, while greens including endive provided some bitterness. This dish was a bit heavy on pepper and bitterness from the endives and could use some acidity to balance it out. Scallops were not as sweet as I was expecting. A bit more of the homemade raspberry vinagrette would have been perfect. The dark blue ring caused by the marination process would have shown more on a different color serving plate instead of a black bowl. For the main course I ordered the Beet linguini with sea bass. Interesting take on linguini Pickled rhubarb, rainbow radishes, fresh dill and a 'beet marinara' sauce reminded me of borscht. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked and soaked up a lot of the butter and sauce. The pickled rhubarb provided a break from the heaviness of the dish but overall the dish lacked brightness. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Seared and crusted with salt and pepper on one side, simple. Well executed but nothing special. For dessert I went with the Strawberry dacquoise which was delicious. The white chocolate bark with pink peppercorn stole the show. It should be layered inside the dessert! I wanted more of it. This dessert was not overly sweet. it was a great mix of pistachios and strawberry and fluffy cake. Gelee was a bit too dense but otherwise fantastic end to a good meal.

(OK, maybe not the anniversary of your sobriety.) It's located on 16th Street in Speedway, so you have numerology in your favor. It's mellow and laid-back, like the number 16. (No one thinks about the number 16, so it has no responsibilities. The number 16 doesn't have to do any heavy lifting like 15 or 20.) It has decent food. You can really just relax at Mike's and settle into the hazy fog of canned beer and fried foods. This bar opens at noon, and like a degenerate fiend, I was there right when it opened. A guy who seemed like a regular sat down at the bar not too long after I grabbed a table, and a beer was placed in front of him before he even had time to arrange himself on his barstool. Then, wordlessly, a basket of food soon followed. Mike's Speedway Lounge is that kind of place: It's where everyone knows your name, and if you're lucky, your beer and food will materialize in front of you with little to no effort. This was my first time visiting, though, so nothing materialized in front of me. That said, the service was excellent. There was one woman working when I visited, and she was opening beers, taking orders, cooking, settling tabs, dealing with deliveries and wiping tables all by herself. She also had time to tell me about the length of her father's grass, and that was a pleasant conversation. By the time I left, there were several people at the bar chatting with the server and each other. It was a nice and friendly atmosphere. Speaking of opening beers: There are no beers on tap here. Zero. All of the beer is in cans or bottles. They do have a lot of liquor, though, so they can make you a little something, if you want. The food is OK and what you'd expect for a bar. Burgers and sandwiches come with fries, which were excellent. Mike's serves crinkle-cut fries, and they are perfectly fried, so they are crispy on the outside but soft and mealy on the inside. I'm a patty melt person through and through, so that's what I got. The patty melts at Mike's are served between slices of marble rye bread, which was a nice surprise, but the cheese is American, which isn't my favorite. We also got the Mike's Famous Spanish Burger, which is a super thick burger patty with tomato sauce and bell peppers. Apparently, it tastes like a stuffed pepper made into a burger. So depending on where you stand with stuffed peppers, you will either love this burger, or feel like you need to urgently use the restroom after you eat it. Your mileage may vary. There's a pool table here, as well as a digital juke box, a claw machine with twisted things in it (I can't even say what those things are, because Yelp would probably flag my review), a racing video game (because Indy 500), and a few machines that dispense pull tab tickets. This is an old-school bar for sure. The only thing missing is the clouds of cigarette smoke. This is a no-smoking bar!
