We stayed nearby and choose this restaurant for that reason. If you would like to try to order in Spanish here, I think it would be okay, but English is also spoken. There is a salsa bar with some very, very, very SPICY options. I tried a pepper in soy sauce with onions and it took several minutes with cold water bathing my tongue before the heat died off. After that I tasted the rice and the green sauce enchiladas and wow! everything tasted great. A family member opted to take his choice, chicken tacos, to the hotel, and he reported that his food was also good. The food was not expensive, was super tasty and the employees were nice. The pepper dish is called "toreados", I believe, maybe "chiles toreados." I've read that this dish originated in Chinese restaurants in Mexico, and perhaps that accounts for the soy sauce in the dish. I decided to wait a few days to see if I was still okay after the shock of that pepper before writing this review, but I was absolutely fine. Still wondering if that pepper made everything taste so spectacular. Ask about the spiciness level before you indulge in the salsa bar. There are reportedly some items that are even hotter!!! The portions were very generous and garnished with chopped onions, radish slices, cilantro, and lime wedges. My iced tea was good, too. My partner had the Mexican plate. It was loaded with food. I think it had a flauta, enchilada, tostada, chile relleno, and rice& beans. He said it was good, but not stellar. I told him to stick with the tacos. I was craving red chili enchiladas and stop by there in the drive-through on the way home. I was third person in line from the window and somebody came out to take my order. There's so many places when they make the enchiladas, they just dip tortilla in the red sauce, fill it with cheese and roll it up. This place really makes enchiladas right. They dip tortilla in the sauce and they grill it, stuff & roll. It comes with 4 tasty enchiladas, beans, rice and salad. Beans were delicious with a good amount of cheese & rice fluffy and flavorful. I ordered chicken fajitas, and my sister ordered enchiladas and beef tacos!! We chose the option to have sides of rice and beans as well!! And with the way it always gets super hot in Texas, we absolutely had to order horchatas, too!! We loved the salsa bar, where we chose salsa verde, the chili salsa, the fruity sides (like mango and pineapple), and the veggie sides (like cucumber)! I was visiting and wanted to eat something very authentically Mexican! So this place was perfect!! How can you come to El Paso and not try at least one truly authentic Mexican restaurant, right? I ordered a Chile relleno burrito for me and a carne asada burrito for my boyfriend with two cokes in a bottle( first plus there), I love those things. The Chile relleno burrito was alright, it wasn't as good as I expected. It didn't have enough cheese and it tasted kind of like as if they were packaged instead of made. The beans in the burrito and the tortilla were good. The tortilla had that tortilla casera consistency and the beans were seasoned just right. I did appreciate that they sent me 3 types of salsa and I didn't even have to ask. The prices are pretty good and my food was delivered super fast. Well, yesterday I decided to try it and, oh my goodness! Their food is so, so very good! I ordered the flautas and you get four huge flautas, a good portion of rice, some salad with delicious fresh tomatoes and lettuce and onions, The most delicious beans I've tasted in a very long time, and half an avocado that was just delicious. Drove up to pick up my food and there was a sign on the door saying to pick up food through the drive-thru window (a bit annoying since I had already gotten out). The portions are pretty big and filling. I ordered the Tampiquena plate and I didn't finish it. The salsa are delicious. Will be returning because the food is good and so are the prices. read more

Mixed feelings. I've been here 5 times and this is what I've had: Beef Fajitas (twice), Menudo (twice) and an Al Pastor Burrito (once). The beef fajitas are highly recommended but keep in mind that the fresh homeade corn tortillas that they serve with it are VERY greasy. That said, it was an incredible amount of food. I'm a huge man and I couldn't finish it in one sitting. Everything was great other than very greasy tortillas. The menudo is EXCELLENT if you like menudo. I loved the flavor but am going to stay away from it in the future, just too fattening. That is NOT an issue with this restaurant just personal preference. The al pastor burrito was not something I would never order again. Dry beef rolled in a flour tortilla with NO sauce or seasoning of ANY kind. Maybe this is how they do it in Mexico I don't know but I'm from California only been in Texas for 7 months and I've never had a burrito, EVER, that was so dry and flavorless. This is my second review of this place, food was certainly not what it used to be and the servings we're definitely smaller compared to the past visits. All prices were increased substantially. Service was good, but not great. Still have to see if the cashier is going to over charge on our ticket, she always adds a dollar or so and I always have to dispute the amount. This place is a good establishment to get some good Mexican food. The server was nice and professional and was willing to make sure we were satisfied. The place is a good size and has light Mexican music playing in the background. When we were seated, they gave us a basket of tostada chips with a variety of salsas. My favorite was the brown looking one, I don't have the knowledge of the name, it was smoky, flavorful, not too spicy and delicious. We were then treated with frijoles charros which were good in of itself. I think my favorite thing about them was the broth. It was red, had some tomato flavor, and a tad bit of spices. I decided to order a burrito de barbacoa. The meat was juicy and tender. They had toppings of cilantro, onion, radish, and limes on the side of it. I did think that it was too much but that is fine with me. My complaint has to be that I'm not a big fan of eating the fat of the barbacoa. When I found out some of it was in there I just took it out and continued eating it. In conclusion, the food is good and the service is great. My husband and I order from here all the time. It's one of the few places that's open later on weekends and serves quality homemade Mexican food. The tacos de asada are delicious and you get hefty portions. I've also gotten the flautas and they are the perfect amount of fried. I would definitely recommend the place for a delicious taco fix.
