The street tacos at TDF are more filling than they appear at first on 4 inch tortillas, but they are absolutely loaded with taco meat of whatever kind you prefer - steak, marinated pork, chicken, other. Add "everything ," which means salsa, cilantro, onions, etc. to get the full flavor. The chunks of meat in the steak tacos are chopped more finely than at some other places, which gets them a higher score. It's easier to eat and not so chewy. The family running the restaurant has always been warm and friendly, and I've been eating here for many years. Be patient as a long line can appear suddenly. You'll be rewarded in the end with a delicious plate of food though, and they have 6-8 flavors of aquas frescas, which have become a new favorite thing for me. If you have a sensitive stomach (think hangover or sickness) the pepino aqua fresca will heal you. The water of life it is! read more

Honestly, I'm usually willing to give a little grace for anyone in service because I understand how it can be dealing with people. But, it was difficult for me to look past someone being extremely rude at the register. The ladies in the kitchen were super nice though! Deeeelicious! As a newbie in Tulsa I've been a little homesick for friends and authentic Mexican food. I've tried a few other places but they were more TexMex than authentic Mexican cuisine. I had driven by this place and thought maybe? But then a family member treated me to this place saying it was great and they were right! It was delicious AND tasted authentic. I've been here twice and really want to like this place but the food is just mediocre at best. Once for tacos and the other for a burrito. We were told the chorizo was great and the queso was a must-get. While I opted for carne asada and carnitas tacos, Grant ordered the chorizo burrito--which was a definite 8/10. The guacamole was super, super fresh and a really strong avocado flavor coming through more than any spices, lime, or onion. The white queso was packed with flavors and a great addition to our meal, and the salsa was one of the favorites I've had in Tulsa. It had a certain nostalgia to it as it was similar to a spot in my home town. Altogether Don Fransisco was great and is worth a repeat visit. The tacos themselves were good. As a lover of all things Mexican food, I'm ashamed that I had not been to this place sooner. I work in that area and see it all the time, but the one thing that has always kept me away was that it's always busy, which is a really good sign! I decided to pop in at an odd hour for lunch and not surprised, it was still busy which really excited me. Tacos don't Francisco is a great place for that authentic style you are looking for and with great prices! I ended up getting an asada (steak) quesadilla and a lengua (beef tongue) taco. When I got my quesadilla, I was surprised that there were avacado and some pick inside. This made the perfect quesadilla for my liking. So I am going to start with a solid 3 on the tacos. The chicken was a little dry and just ok, the steak was just a little step above the line but about the same. I do highly suggest the marinated pork as that was definitely the winner! Really enjoyed that one the best. I wasn't a big fan of the hot sauce as it seemed to just be a spicy water with not much taste other than a tang. BUT their guacamole side was enough to feed an army and super fresh... I had to salt it a bit, but i'm really hoping their chips aren't usually that stale.. I've never been disappointed by Tacos Don. Usually I get tacos and they've always been great but the other day I stopped in at just after 9am when I noticed they had their OPEN sign on. We tried this place for lunch today after a friend suggested it to me. The tacos were incredible! I had 3 different types - carne asada, polo, and cabeza. My friend had the lengua and she said it was tasty. We also ordered the chips and queso, which was also a hit. The chips were fresh and the queso was packed with flavor and not too runny. The place is small inside, but cozy and starts to get really busy around the noon hour. Glad we arrived early for lunch. Tacos Don Francisco is an honest to goodness taqueria that specializes churning out some amazing meat centric dishes. Its got all the usual suspects on the menu, your burritos, quesadilla's, tamale's,enchelad's and they are all good but its the street tacos that I keep coming back. I will throw in an order of pork tamale or gordita in my order, Quick heads up the gorditas are about 2 1/2 tacos so don't interchange them on a 1:1 ratio (not confirming or denying I did this). I like how some the meats have a nice crispy sears that locks in flavor and adds a nice crispy texture, the best example of this on the chorizo and buche. I think I have eaten my way through most of the menu and while I like the Tamale and the burritos most visits, I end up just loading up on the tacos although getting a steak burrito for later is never a bad idea. The chili's are there to bring the heat I like the flavors of the tacos and most times I save mine for after the meal, the sauce they place on the tacos work well at cutting the fat from the meat when you add a good helping of the lime juice. I was very surprised at how busy this place was at like 9pm. I wrongly figured that because it was late that it could be a quick and easy in and out meal, but no... the place was literally full of people- And that's a true sign that this place really is great! Because there were so many people (and I honestly think the lady in front of me ordered pretty much their entire menu) the wait was pretty long... much longer than I was planning for. I think we waited more than 30 minutes, which is a lot for a place like this, you can of expected it to be a fairly quick thing. However, I feel like that was more or less a fluke because of how many people at that particular time and again because of the very very large order right before ours, and also yeah it was a Friday night so that probably didn't help either. So the big moral of this update is lesson learned: not necessarily the place (for me, at least) to go for a super late Friday night dinner! But hey, the food was still great. This time I got two tacos. I wanted one pork and one chicken but they were out of the pork so I just got two chicken instead. As usual they were very flavorful! Would definitely that order again! Ordered the chips and queso again too, and that seemed even better than last time. And I really still can't get over how insanely great the prices are... I spent less than $5 on mine!!!!! I had higher hopes because of the reviews but I wasn't impressed. Although the food was decent it kind of lacked the flavor I was expecting. In comparison to another local and popular taco stand this place fell a little short. I had 4 different tacos (chorizo, Asada, pastor and carnitas, along with chips and queso with a side of guacamole. The chorizo taco was good and flavorful and so was the carnitas. The queso was a bit thin and watery and could have been cheesier and maybe it was just me but I was shocked at the price of the guac @ $2 for a small 2oz cup... I'm not against trying them again but as a last resort if my other taco place is closed. Tacos Don has been a long time favorite of mine. When I was small, they had a shop right outside of the neighborhood of my childhood home. I love going to the 11th street location, it holds a lot of special memories and sentimental value for me. From drunken sibling game nights where we would stop by and pick up a truckload of tacos, to my first date 2 years ago with my forever fellow taco fiend. We've been living in Tulsa for a while and I can't believe I just now tried Tacos Don Francisco! My wife took me there recently and they have amazing Street tacos for a very reasonable price. We tried the Carne Asada, Al pastore, Tripas, and Chorizo. The Chorizo was definitely my favorite, great flavors and a little spice kick. If you like spicy, make sure to ask for the jalapeño, this thing is crazy spicy though so beware! The staff there is very friendly and service is fast. This little Taco joint is now my favorite in town and we will definitely be back to try more! I am looking forward to try their platters and the Lingua street taco! About 30 percent of the time you get warm, well-cooked, flavorful food... and then the other 70 percent of the time you get food that is lukewarm, old-tasting, and barely edible. About half the time your order will be missing items, or have the wrong items. Some times you get chips and salsa with your order... sometimes no chips and salsa. Great local taco dive spot. This has quickly become my go-to when someone says they want good street tacos or a burrito. It is super divey and easy to drive right past, but do yourself a favor and don't drive past it. HIGHLY recommend the and pollo, asada in any form. Tacos, burritos, whatever. They also make pretty tasty chicken tamales that are usually great, but I had some that were kind of dry once. I think it was likely just because it was later in the afternoon. They also make my favorite horchata in town. The staff are friendly. It stays busy, so sometimes finding a clean table is tough, but if you say something or they see you looking at the tables, they quickly come to clean them. read more
