My wife and I fell in love with the food at Tacos Don Mario the first time we tasted it. We finally got the chance to return today. However, they short changed us and served us inedible food. We ordered two tortas de asada, three tacos de asada, and three tacos de lingua. The boy taking our order said the bill came to "triente y una" ($31). I gave him $50, and he gave me $8 in change, rather than $19. I was prepared to give them a tip, as times are hard. I asked for six salsa verdes, and the boy said I had to pay an additional $2 dollars for them, even though the last time we went another customer had asked for that many and not been charged extra. When we got our tortas, the bread was burned and the "carne asada" was chopped up hamburger. Moreover, the "beef" did not taste like meat. It tasted like verge burger. I tried both the tacos de lingua and tacos de asada, and both tasted the same, like crispy, unseasoned beef. We will never return here. We don't trust them to do honest business or make a consistently high quality product. The first time we tasted the meat, it was well cooked, seasoned perfectly, and tasted like real beef. Late night tacos, 3 carne asada. They do it better than other taco trucks i've had, simply because portion size was 30% more and so many onions. Asada was tasty too, so so so good. Dont really ever review anything, but yall gota try the Tripe here if yall a fan of it. The meat isn't crunchy, this thing is somehow flaky, and I've never had tripe with this texture before. It's amazing. Get the habanero sauce if you like a nice kick. The chorizo is also amazing, as well. read more

A hidden gem! Came by on a late Monday night and stumbled on this taco truck. There was 2 ladies serving us and was really helpful regarding our questions. The food took around ~15 mins but that's because it's cooked fresh right in front of you. We ordered a total of 10 tacos (6 asada & 4 pastor) with a side of rice and a hot dog. Usually after eating tacos from food trucks, I would feel so greasy and full but after eating these tacos I felt great! The tacos really taste homemade and are so flavorful. These tacos are actually best tacos I have ever had in my life. I definitely had my fair share of street tacos BUT THESE TOP ANY. I honestly don't even like Al pastor like that, but tacos don mario really know how to do it. I would get like 8 Al pastor next time I come over the carne asada. Don't get it twisted tho, the carne asada was super good too. However that Al pastor had me thinking about it the next day too. The service was super quick even though the place surrounding the truck was PACKED. The line was long too. The cooks and service everything was top notch. They got a whole system going to make it really smooth and fast. They also have plenty of seating which I think is perfect because you know tacos can get messy sometimes eating in the car. My sister brought me here after she had her life changed from tasting their carne asada taco. She said "ok i don't want to hype it up too much for you but this is my fave taco spot in our area". I was like mmm I'll be my own judge of that. She bought me 3 carne asada tacos. I liked them. They were pretty standard though I've never had a bad carne asada taco in our area. I can think of other taco trucks whose carne asada tacos compare. But then she got me a carne asada quesadilla. It came with a thing of sour cream and a thing of ketchup. (They have diff salsas too. Their habanero is the spiciest if you like spicy) Different but I'll take it. When i tell you it tastes like an abeula made it im not joking. Thanks to the previous reviewers about this new place in town and a friend who recommended the new place in town. They are right, the Carne Asada tacos with the guacamole sauce are very very good and tasty !! First time here and I'll be back tomorrow . I had to get my wife some tacos to go and she also loved them! I recommend this place from my very first visit. I'm going back tomorrow. Been going to the taco truck up San Gabriel bl for years, their al pastor is very good. Then we see this truck pop out of nowhere, thought we'd try it out. Daaam even their regular carne asada is bomb, their chicken is too...they even got sopes, mulitas, huaraches, even hot dogs. This one takes out the one up the street easy.
