A place that I've been going to since I was young and I forgot how good it is. Their tacos are $1.50 on Tuesdays so it is my go to spot! I came here with my friends, and this was my second time visiting. The last time I came was before high school, so it had been a long time. We stopped by after the gym and ordered some food. My partner and I shared the nachos, while our friends got the quesadilla and tacos. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food tasted fresh, was well-seasoned, and wasn't overly salty, which I really appreciated. One thing I love is their salsa bar. They have a self-serve area outside the truck where you can get as much salsa as you want. It's convenient, and it's nice that they're not stingy with condiments. They also offer daily specials. We didn't order any of the daily deals this time, but they looked like a great value. If you're looking for delicious food at an even better price, definitely check out their daily specials before ordering. The location is another plus. It's right outside Jefferson Middle School in a quiet area with plenty of parking, making it very convenient to visit. Several people recommended the horchata, saying I had to try it, so I ended up getting one and sharing it with my partner. It was really good! The only thing I noticed was that it didn't come with ice, so we added some when we got home. The service was quick and friendly. This taco truck is conveniently located right in front of the school parking lot so you can park there and then order at the truck. They have a bench out as well so you can sit there. I already came here for tacos multiple times already but felt like trying something new so I got the California Burrito. They didn't give a receipt but I am guessing it is around $12-13. And I think the tacos are now around $2.50-$2.70. They take card and cash but I believe card has tax. They have the salsas and onions/cilantro out in the table in front of the truck so you can grab yourself while waiting for the food. The food took around 10 minutes are so which wasn't bad. The California burrito was nice and big and very delicious. It comes with steak fries inside with your choice of pork or beef. I went with pork after asking the lady which one she recommended. And it was good! There is also some sauce but I couldn't tell if there was any guacamole. Maybe there was but very little. But the thicker fries was just a perfect combination with the pork and sauce. The only thing lacking is a bit more meat to balance out the fries and some guacamole. I tried a California burrito at another taco truck before but this one is so much better! I will be getting this again and try the beef. I totally recommend this taco truck for tacos and burritos! They taste authentic but just a bit pricer for the tacos. I would say it is more worth on Taco Tuesdays when it is cheaper. This is my go-to taco truck spot. read more

This was our go-to spot in high school when it was on Duarte and Rosemead. This location has way more parking and it's easier to access. There's also a gas station next to it. It's across the street from Ducks. Hard to miss their truck when they're there. I would be careful of any illegal u-turns as there's also a police station nearby. I normally get tacos but their nachos, fries, dirty dog, and flautas are really good! They also have weekly specials. I haven't tried their fish tacos, burritos, or tortas yet but im assuming they wouldn't disappoint. Their sauce bar is basic but has everything you need. Their to-go cups are at the pick up window, probably to help with waste. I dont think their sauces are very spicy but they're fine. My fave is their salsa verde. I am about to say a bold statement. Thisssss ladies and gentlemen is the best taco truck I have ever had in the 626. Now before we all start arguing I have a few points to support my statement. The Al plastor here is like any I've ever tasted. Usually we're thinking the sliced meat with the pineapple on top right? But here it comes in a bit of a dice form. Now I'm not sure what seasonings or how they prepare the meat, but let me tell you they are doing it right! (In my humble opinion of course) The Al pastor has so much flavor and is sooo moist with soft onions weaving in between each bite. It's also a bit smoky I dare say? The best way to eat the Al pastor is in a quesadilla!!!!! The food always comes out quick and piping hot. I always ask for grilled onions on the side for no extra charge. Moreover I always find the sauces at other taco spots to be an after thought. But here I am in love with their orange sauce. Yes it has quite a kick to it but I really believe it makes every bite of my al pastor quesadilla magical. I'm actually drooling at the thought of eating this again. I also love their lengua! No notes. They have daily specials from Monday to Friday I believe. Also, their horchata comes in one size and It. is. MASSIVE. Sweet and refreshing (Not watery at all) with the perfect cinnamon ratio. Parking is so convenient as they've consistently parked next to a middle school so you can pull a classic taco run move and eat it at your leisure on the hood of your car hahahah Every time I try a new taco spot my mind immediately compares it with this place. One of our favorite taco trucks! They recently updated their weekly specials. Today we tried the dirty dog ($8.50) my brother said jt was good. We also got the 2 al pastor tacos since it was the weekly special. $5 for 4 al pastor tacos, what a great deal! My experience here has always been pretty good and for Taco Tuesday the tacos are only $1.50 for pretty much every taco minus just a few. It's hard to find tacos for that price now and in terms of flavors they were pretty solid, double tortilla tacos. I also got a dirt dog which was like $8.50 and I really much enjoyed that as well. Loved that they placed all the condiments in front and it was very easily accessible. Will be my go to taco spots on Taco Tuesday since it's the best price around! Taco Tuesday is great here! Most places selling tacos for $2-2.50 but on Tuesday's here they are $1.50! I got the carne asada, brisket, pastor, and carnitas. All were delicious. Carnitas was my favorite since it was crispy. I've had better for the other meats but it was still good. Decent amount of meat for each tacos and you add the cilantro and onions yourself. Ask for the grilled onions and jalapeños to add some more flavor to your taco. There's no seating here but they are in front of a parking lot with lots of spaces to eat in the car. I stopped by the other day because I was craving Mexican food, and my usual taco spot had a long line I didn't feel like waiting in. Parking was easy since there are plenty of spots available at the school. I ordered three tacos (chorizo, lengua, and cabeza) and a suadero burrito. They have a sauce and condiment station right out front, so you can help yourself to all the toppings and salsas you like. The food was... decent. While the tacos were alright, the meat was on the dry side, and the burrito turned out to be mostly rice and beans. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. I ended up finishing everything and was reasonably satisfied, but it felt pretty average overall. Lots of reviewer said that the san gabriel truck is better the monrovia one. But in my experience it's the opposite. Maybe there's a new cook or something, probably it's an isolated incident on my visit tonight. This truck accepts credit card but minimum order $10 pre tax. With $10 you get 5tacos but you'll feel as full as eating 3 regular street tacos. They have lots of options and the red and green salsa is sufficiently hot. They offer bold flavor tacos, but somehow there's a slight sweetness in all of their offerings. And the tripas are not crunchy at all. Hence the three stars. It was enjoyable, but i won't go out of my way for it. read more

Tacos La Doña is a great taco truck on Las Tunas and Muscatel and they're a staple here in the city. Keep in mind like other reviews have mentioned, it is cash only here. They park right outside a school at night so there's plenty of parking inside if you need to or there's always street parking. Some of the items I've tried: Tacos are fairly standard, nothing too much to complain about. I've tried the asada, lengua, and some others as well. The dirty dogs are pretty good. The toppings go really well with it. I've only had it to go so they're wrapped in foil and it's been a few minutes once I finally eat it but they're still fairly good. The nachos are good as well, you get to pick a protein you want on top. Otherwise, it's fairly plain with cheese, some sour cream, whatever meat you had chosen. I'll then add the salsa and the onions and ends up being not too bad if you're looking for something to share. They tend to be pretty quick with the ordering process until you get your food. There aren't too many taco trucks in the area so they have their niche here. read more

tl;dr: for SGV, it's good. For a taco truck in LA, it's just okay for $2 tacos. Pastor is great. This place used to be better than Arandinos Tacos El Patron, and I thought it was one of the best tacos in SGV. Over the years (been coming for ~5 years), flavors slowly got lost, meat portions slowly dwindled, and now at $2 each tacos? It's not worth it anymore to me. There's Super Tacos El Pastorcito just 3 minutes away on the same street for $1.75-$2 and they gave more meat and tastes better as well. I used to come here often and often for their suadero since most taco trucks in SGV don't offer this. Their brisket meat is stewed nicely and tasted great before. I got it today (2/8/22) and sadly now it's greasy and salty when it used to be savory and juicy. My whole tortillas' bottom was just lard. It's still edible but I had better suadero so I wouldn't get it here again. The asada was not bad but I don't get it as often because I truly don't remember what it tasted like...it wasn't that memorable, but it wasn't crap. The tripas here is grilled nicely with a good crispy bite to it. Not gamey or too chewy, but today I ate a giant piece of rock or some undissolved object from the small intestines. It tasted like giant sand in clams and I haven't had this happen to me in a long time (I get tripas at any taco places that offer, my personal favorite). They probably didn't wash the intestines well enough hmmm.... Oh well it was tasty tho. I think their pastor is still the best here out of all meats. It has a nice juicy gush from the meat, the seasoning is just right. It has that lick of sweetness, savory, light acidity, pineapples, and a little bit of fat, makes everything kinda sublime. I'm surprised how well it tastes for not being on a spit. Despite missing that extra torch flavor, I would come get this possibly again. They do a good job on grilling their tortillas tho and their salsa isn't too bad. Salsa verde is sour and too liquidy. Their green tomatillo-heavy salsa isn't too bad actually, and the salsa roja is spicy and has a nice smokey flavor. I just wish they didn't have all the condiments and shit on the table for everyone to grab right before I eat hand foods. if you get it for here, they don't put anything on your tacos except your proteins. There's no hand sanitizers here too. It used to be one of my go-to's in SGV when I don't want to drive to East/South LA or west of DTLA. I still came here before and during COVID. I was hungry, angry, sad and it's been awhile since I've had their tacos. My friend and I got two of their downtown dogs, which I didn't know they had and two al pastor tacos. We asked for it to go, so when they handed the tacos in aluminum foil, I turned to my friend and asked, "there's two tacos in here?" and they said I literally asked that last time we were here. I will say their tacos are pretty small in size, but they do load it with meat. They tasted solid to me, but for some reason, their downtown dogs were hitting that night. I don't know if it was because I was so hungry, but I thought the flavor of it was pretty good. I will admit they don't taste the same as the ones they sell in L.A, but it was good enough for me that night. This is my favorite taco place whenever I go back home to LA. Their cabeza tacos and lengua tacos are always delish - my go-tos. Their pastor is not bad as well. I've been going here for years and been through the price increases, but the tacos are still yummy enough to come back to - plus their late night hours are the best - it's always my first stop on my way home from the airport. They take credit card now which is nice, but when you use card, they charge tax, so I definitely recommend paying with cash. This place is a good taco truck to go to late night. They don't have any seats so you'll have to eat at your car or you can eat on the curb or on the little grass area. They accept card BUT they have a 10 dollar minimum AND they charge you tax. If you pay cash, no taxes. Prices: I don't know all the prices of the entire menu but these are the prices I've gathered after going here recently. Al pastor, carne asada, and pollo tacos are $1.75 each as of 07/31/21. Every other meat is $2.00 (cabeza, lengua, suadero, etc). They do have other taco specials on certain days for cheaper but I went on a friday/saturday. Carne asada fries and al pastor fries are $12 Carne asada nachos are $10 (i think) Large horchata - $5 Medium horchata - $3 Mexican Coke - $3 For extra salsas (to go): 1 salsa 3 tacos 1 salsa 1 burrito Every additional salsa $0.25 (Honestly though, you can try to be nice to them and get more sauces) Food: The carne asada fries is so good, the fries are crispy and the beans on it are also very good! Their cheese is also very stringy so I found that as a plus! You can put sauces on it. They have chili verde, avocado sauce, and red chili sauce bottles in the truck, feel free to take them. I put the chili verde but I think I prefer the avocado sauce out of the rest. The meat on the fries were pretty tender as well. You can definitely share this with 2 people but you can equally finish this by yourself if you have a big appetite. The al pastor here is to die for as well. It's marinated super well and you could definitely taste the tenderness of the meat. I think if you eat al pastor, the avocado sauce is a great sauce to pair it with. The carne asada is also pretty tender. Just your typical carne asada. I'd say their chunks of meat are a bit bigger than other taco trucks. Perfect to pair with the red chili sauce. The suadero, the beef brisket, is my favorite from here. Fatty brisket on tacos? What can go wrong there. Definitely pair this with the chili verde sauce or the avocado sauce. The cabeza wasn't anything special. Personally, I don't like it all too much but its interesting to try out! Pretty tender, not chewy. Pair this with the red chili sauce. The tortilla is a corn tortilla which honestly tasted pretty dry as if they didnt warm it up on the grill long enough. I feel like they could've been more soft. (This contributed to the 4/5 star review). The horchata is also very tasty! Nice and creamy just like normal horchata. Pair your tacos with their agua frescas or a mexican coke. Parking: The taco truck is in front of a school. Barely any light as you go further into the school parking lot so turn on your phone flashlight. You'll ALWAYS find parking. Overall, I think this place is a wonderful place to go to for late night tacos or in general good meat fries. The reason this place is not a 4/5 is due to the lack of displaying the prices for the food, tortilla being a little bit dry, and the pricing of items. When I cut it open when I got home, I was appalled to see that 90% of it was fries/potato. Heavily disappointed to see that the quality has drastically gone down, while the prices also have ballooned. For carne fries and a Cali burrito, I paid $27!
