Dude there's many taco stands now in the sgv area but every time I drove by this particular one I saw people in line. Curiosity got the better of me so I had to try it and wow. Amazing tacos, fresh made tortillas on the spot, the spindle of pastor meat glistening, what more could you ask for?! Tacos are $2 each, will have to come back to try the mulitas and might I add the orange citrus Fresca was also top notch. I guess I have found my new fav local taco spot! Sgv peeps go to las tunas and junipero where Papa Johns is for this gem!

2 al pastor, 1 asada, 1 buche

This place is so good! It is my favorite taco spot in SGV. So glad that Mary Lane Cafe is generous enough to let them use the parking lot. I always get the al pastor and asada but this time I also tried suadero and that's what I'm adding to my regular order next time! Their meat is always so flavorful and they give a lot of meat for each taco. You order the meat and then pay, and then add your own sauces and toppings. I always come here with friends. Will be coming here even more often during the summer time. Plenty of parking and kind customer service.

I had driven by this place countless times when working in that area but never tried it…read more One day about 2 months ago, at the stop sign beside it, I kept staring at the big photo/sign saying FISH TACOS $2.49 each. I was starving. I parked and went in. I ordered 2 fish tacos and the cook instantly got 2 FRESH (not frozen) larger than expected, fish fillets, THEN dipped them into HOMEMADE BATTER right in front of me and dropped them into the fry basket. Where will you ever see that nowadays? They were ready almost instantly, and were done perfect Baja style, with lots of that good salty mayo+crema white sauce. THEY WERE AWESOME. And BIG. And would have cost WAY MORE at any other place...for $5. Really satisfying, I was NOT hungry after 2 of them. Since then I have probably been there 7 times, the quality has never varied. And they make all their own salsas, etc. I have even taken jobs down in that area just so I can eat there! ;-) The only other thing I have tried is taco de lengua, it was equally excellent, with LOTS of meat, not some skimpy little street taco thing. But just go there and see what $5 will get you with the fish tacos, this has to be the best deal in today's food world that I have found and I work all over the San Gabriel Valley and eat at dozens of places. Its not fancy though, old school with lots of handmade cardboard signs showing lots of other dishes, but this is the ambiance you will find in some of the BEST mom and pop type cafe's. The ratio of deliciousness and quality to price is insanely in favor of the customer!!

Street parking only. Service is friendly, prompt. No frills but appears authentic enough. There are about 20 indoor seating (booths & tables). The cafe is fairly clean. Our order was ready in a jiffy. Got fresh salsa from the counter along with pickled carrots, onions & jalapeños. Not bad but the menudo lacked depth & richness, so did the albondigas. Overall a good experience at least once.

Macho Cafe - Must ask for this delicious salsa to go on top of the tacos. It packs a nice little heat.

My mom ordered the pozole verde and rajas con crema. Everything was going good until the server very rudely came and asked my mom to stop feeding my 9 month old baby because he was making noise and that "he had other guests and it was a bother" . We were both left in shock and it took us a second to process what he had just said. We had only taken a few bites of our food and we were commenting that it was good but this man's rudeness left us speechless. There was only 2 tables seated aside from us one gentleman and a group of 3 gentlemen on the other other table. I walked up to them and apologized if my baby was disturbing them and they all said no that he was not at all and they had kids and knew that the baby's were baby's. We felt extremely uncomfortable and discriminated by this man that I just asked for the check and left without even getting thru half of our food. This is such a Disappointment because they are suppose to be a family restaurant which I would assume is okay with children at their establishment but I guess not. There should be a sign at the door that says NO CHILDREN ALLOWED specially the ones that make any sort of noise. Management I expect a response from you! This is not okay!

Some of their most popular dishes include Asada Burritos, Super Fries, and Tlayudas. I recently attended an event at my son's school where Chanos was a vendor. It was my first time seeing them there, and I was glad to see them, as they've replaced other vendors in the past. I had already eaten, but who can resist a burrito?! My son was getting hungry, so I ordered an Asada Burrito for us to share. It was pretty good; the tortilla was excellent. I wasn't a fan of their rice and beans, but the asada was not bad. They had a few salsas to try. They used those tiny salsa containers, which everyone knows. Restaurants use them to prevent over-indulgence, but it takes a while to get enough salsa because they're so small. I understand it's a cost-saving measure. They were also serving Churros ($3), and I got two. They were okay, a bit doughy in the middle, making me think they were undercooked. The guys working the booth were super friendly and attentive. I appreciate them! Realistically, the burrito was a 3/5, but with the good service and their community support, I'm rounding it up to a 4. Until next time, Chanos! Gracias!
