I have been going to Super Taq for many years. I have driven by this truck on Masten Avenune numerous times and it is always busy, so I decided to try it today. I had the carnitas burrito. The carnitas were perfect. The burrito super yummy, and I LOVE their salsa verde. The salsa verde at Super Taq can be super hot. This one is a tad hot, and a little sweet. Excellent! Next time I will say no rice or cilantro in the burrito. But other than that? Perfection! read more

Food was a 10 we ordered carne asada burrito and 2 tortas de carne asada! The service was not great the lady that took our order was agitated and short with us while taking our order. We've been coming here because the food's usually good, but this last visit was really disappointing. I ordered tacos with cilantro only and salsa on the side, and I even ordered in Spanish to make sure they understood. They messed it up twice. When I told the lady at the window, she acted like she wasn't even listening, and her attitude came off rude. You'd think they'd be more appreciative of their customers -- especially since people still choose to buy food from them despite it being in a dirt lot. I was surprised that there was a taco truck sort of in the middle of nowhere. I was on my way to San Martin and needed a quick food, saw this place and made a pit stop. Cash only! Ordered a carne asada burrito for ease. It came with rice, beans and pico. Took mine without beans. The burrito was delicious. The carne asada meat had flavor too. I wished they gave me hot sauce with the burrito and I forgot to ask. They did provide like a little pouch of a pepper, onions and radish. In addition to being a 'burger connoisseur', 'calamari connoisseur', I have to also admit to being a self proclaimed 'taco truck connoisseur'. I've been to many Taco Trucks throughout California from Frisco, to Eastside San Jose to Eastside Long Beach, and what I've learned what makes a good reputable Taco Truck is consistency, cleanliness, pricing, call in orders, and a distinct taste of the various meats (Carne Asada, Pollo, Pastor, to name a few) which sets them apart from others in a very competitive market space. Now I know I'm not of hispanic decent but that shouldn't disqualify me or others of knowing a good Taco Truck when they encounter one and Tacos El Abuelo is one of the good ones. Tacos El Abuelo have reasonably priced tacos, burritos, etc. If you want to have an event, they also provide catering. I've used Tacos El Abuelo multiple times for fight parties, football games, Superbowl parties pre pandemic and they've always come thru in the clutch and has been a hit with the guests. If I just want to grab a few tacos after work that works too. Only thing that's holding them back from being truly one of a kind is that they only accept cash. While cash-only is good, it has it's setbacks. Given Covid-19 most people would like to avoid the use of cash and the fact that's it's 2020, credit card usage would surely be beneficial to all parties involved. There's been a few times where I wanted to hit them up but I didn't have any cash on me so I had to settle for something else to my chagrin... :( All in all a great spot to grab a bite to eat. Customer service is good, call-in orders are hassle-free and you can usually get in and out of there in 10 minutes or less. read more

YUP, definitely a fan!! It was taco Tuesday, and trying Tacos El Abuelo for the first time was a must. Pretty much a hidden gem right off the highway. I had tacos with asada and chicken, the meat flavor was AMAZING and the salsa that comes on top was not too spicy, just perfect amount of kick. They have two tables in the area in case you decide to eat there, you can also call ahead for pick up which I thought was pretty convenient. I really, really enjoyed hopping off the freeway to find this food truck just two minutes off highway 101 outside of Gilroy. I had the best ($11 carne asada) burrito of my life! The meat was great, the beans soft and creamy - home cooked. The burrito had small sides of fresh lemon, radishes, and grilled onions and a half hot green pepper. Be aware that the food truck parks on a (dusty) gravel lot next to an agricultural field (corn coming up when I was there). Lots of local people pull up, delivery truck drivers, etc. As mentioned by others, there are two dusty and partially shaded picnic tables if you need to get out of your car...which I highly recommend, so you can soak up this special bit of Mexican California culture. read more

Best tacos you'll find closest to both Morgan hill and gilroy. We tried the carne asada, pastor, and carnitas tacos. This place is cash only and priced similarly to other Bay Area tacos but totally worth it. The service was super fast and our encounter with who May be the owner was great. He was super kind! Our favorite was the pastor. We even debated getting more. The flavor was good and they don't skip on putting a good amount of meat. The carnitas tasted clean and the asada had no fatty pieces. We found this following a detour on google maps. What a treat. I had two tacos, carnitas and brisket. Mark had a burrito with chicken. Both came with a side of lightly grilled onions and half a jalapeño. At first I thought the two tiny tacos wouldn't be enough, and if I'm here again I might order three, but Mark's burrito was so big he actually shared with me! We experienced this wonderful taco truck during the night of Gilroy Garden's Oasis after dark event. I had my doubts, but I was wonderfully proven wrong. I tried the lengua (tongue), suadero (beef belly/leg meat), carnitas (pork), carne asada (beef), and al pastor (marinated pork). The meat was wonderfully flavored. Usually with taco trucks you don't get meat that has been flavored alone. Many try to flavor their meat with the salsa and accessories, however their meat had flavor by itself which is a great start. The salsas; green, red, and guacamole salsa were on point. They serve grilled onions and a grilled jalapeno on the side as well. I would visit this taco truck weekly If it wasn't so far away. Decided to try this place after always seeing it packed. We just ordered the tacos but tried the carne asada, el pastor, carnitas and brisket. Ingredients were fresh and everything was very flavorful. My favorite was the carne asada and my moms was the carnitas. Salsas were good as well.
