We go to this place often. Food is authentic Mexican food, best menudo in town with hand made tortillas. Have had their tacos, chile verde plate , menudo, quesadillas and camarones a la diabla , al pastor burritos let me tell you everything is fire . It's a family own and run business , people are really friendly and quick service. Highly recommended

I love family owned businesses because you always know the food is authentic and really good! We were looking for food spots in the area and found this place. We went for Saturday lunch and it was pretty busy inside. There are lots of seating inside so we were seated right away and got our food in about 15-20 mins. Everything is so freshly cooked and grilled and everything was big portions so we had plenty to take home. My family ordered the Chimichanga Plate, Chile Verde Plate, and Pescado Frito Plate. It was all so flavorful! I got the Carne Asada Plate and while it was also good, the meat seemed a little bit overcooked in my opinion. Our server really made sure we were taken cared of and everyone else really enjoyed their food. I would definitely come back though as they have a really big menu!

We decided to find a spot we haven't tried before and found this Taqueria and gave it a shot! Finding parking right in front may be hard but there's plenty of street parking surrounding the place. The interior is cute yet small and gives the vibe of a family owned restaurant which I love! The servers are all very friendly and check in on you occasionally. The food came out piping hot and the plates were hot as well. I got a Chile Verde Chimichanga Plate and I was not disappointed in the slightest. The food was absolutely delicious and I had plenty to take home. After you've finished eating you pay at the front register. Definitely going to be back sometime!

I just so happen to stop in while attending a VW car show in Gilroy. I walked in, looked at the menu, and I asked the young woman taking the orders how's the food here. She replied " it's the bomb, you'll see" So I ordered the combo enchilada chili releno comes with beans and rice. My~O~MY!! This is old school Mexican food!! Sooooo goood!! The young woman was right!! It is the bomb!' Great service, and they're NICE! You-will-love-the-food! Good prices too! Photo looks good, huh?

This place was recommended to me by my pops Doc. Street parking is a premium however I managed to find a space across the street. The Tacorea has an old-school mom and pop vibe. They now offer inside limited seating but 1st you must sign in and leave a phone number. We opted to dine in and have our 1st indoor dining experience since March. Pops ordered a chicken and Carnitas quesadilla I ordered a Chile Verde super burrito. Management: super nice people, definitely a mom and pop home cooked meal type of place "mom spoke broken English, at best" 5 stars quesadilla: pop loved it and it came LOADED with meat. Pops said it was one of the best he's had. Super chili Verde burrito: Damn son!! So big and yet it was so darn good that I was left wanting more!! Hands down the best chili Verde burrito I've ever had. Oh and don't get me started on the Verde salsa, oh my gosh I could of had me a gallon of it, it's so good and mildly spicy, the heat level lets you know that there is something warm in your mouth kind of like a nice hot chocolate and it lingers for a long time, never racing in intensity of heat. Just amazing. Horchata: I ordered it without ice, it was cold and refreshing C: Price for One super chili Verde burrito, one super quesadilla, one Mexican orange drink, one Horchata, chips and salsa $21 Beautiful warmth of salsa like sipping on coffee

Had the Menudo the flavor was good, but there was hardly any in menudo or harmony, lots of soup. Probably wouldn't order it again.

Service was good, but they were down a server so a bit slow. First red flag were the chips, which were stale, not crunchy or crispy. I could fold the chips in half. Also ordered a Diet Coke and a Modelo. Diet Coke was brought out in a can with no glass or ice, no glass for the beer either. At home, maybe, but would expect more at a restaurant. Ordered the chicken cheese quesadilla, Carne Asada super burrito, and a regular Carne Asada burrito. The chicken in the cheese quesadilla was a bit hard, reminiscent of leftover chicken that has been sitting for a while. Regular burrito was good, plenty of meat, beans and rice. Super burrito was mostly filled with rice and beans, not much meat. The waitress was very nice, however the food left much to be desired. Unfortunately, search for it go to Mexican restaurant in Gilroy continues.

Lots of fun ornaments on this tree. Walked up to the counter to place our order and the lady helping us was very welcoming and friendly. We orderd a plater with carnitas and one with carne asada. They both came with fried beans, mexican rice, salad, and corn tortillas. The food was good, however, I feel the recipe has changed or the cook is someone differnt as the flavor of the carnitas is not as before in the past visits here. I remember the carnitas having a almost sticky consistancy with more seasoning. In my opinion the flavor and texture have deffinatly changed.

Also came with rice and beans and homemade tortillas! It was all good. We also got asada nachos and it was great as well. You order your food from counter and they bring it to you. I tried the location in San Jose as well but this one is better. Rice was perfect and beans was ok. Nacho was good too but could have had more cheese. The chips held up well probably because we ask for the salsa on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. Will have to come back again when we are out in Gilroy.

There's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but no one came out to seat us and a group of people walked past us to go inside, were sat right away. A girl who sat us ended up being our server but took a very long time for her to come back out to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the guy bringing water and tortilla chips who our server was. Once our server arrived she was very nice and answered our menu questions. I ordered the the spicy Mamacita and my friend ordered the pina colada. Both drinks looked cool but mine was very sweet, not really spicy at all and was tiny for $15. I think I mostly paid for the presentation part...flower, popsicle, etc. We both ordered the 3 taco trio and the food came out before long. I had a mahi mahi, carne asada and a taco macho. Again, the food wasn't that great: rice and beans had an off flavor, octopus was chewy in the taco macho, and the mahi was a bit fishy. We took half our food to go and checked out. All in all I would not come back unless it was out of convenience due to the location. The food and drinks have a nice presentation, but the taste of everything wasn't there for me. Although our server was really nice and my friend and I were busy chatting, the service was slow.

It's a shame the place isn't nearly as good as it was when it first opened. The food always looks great, but the flavors are average, and the cooks can be inconsistent. You might get a great meal one day and a very "mid" one the next. If you want an aguachile that's not too spicy, the aguachile de tamarindo is a solid choice, while the mango habanero has a nice kick. The tacos are consistently good. I'd stay away from the salmon--it was overcooked--and the pasta was too greasy. The calamari bites are on the small side but have a satisfying crunch. Services was excellent.
