Pulled off 101 north and just on the other side of the freeway is this fabulous taco truck. We ordered 2 each, al pastor and carnitas. A bit spicy but we like it that way. $2 for each taco. I love pulling over grabbing a quick awesome inexpensive meal when heading back and forth from northern to southern cal. read more

My partner and I were unsure what we should eat on a Saturday night when we remembered that this taco place off the exit Masten always looks busy and popular, so we decided to give it a try! I gave them a call and ordered two plates of tacos, one with chile, one without and he handled the different orders perfectly! He let us know the order would be ready in 10 minutes. When we arrived we payed cash (cash only) and about 2 minutes later, our tacos were ready! They were juicy, warm and delicious! The carne asada was perfectly cooked, they came with a bit of guac salsa, onion, cilantro, sliced radishes, a lime wedge, and grilled onion with a grilled serrano. We will definitely be coming back to Taos El Abuelo. read more

Taco trucks are not usually my thing but WOW these tacos are GOOD. For me, these are the best tacos I've had. They have about 8 or 9 different meats and they come topped with a little salsa and chopped onions. You get a side of grilled jalapeños and onions and a slice of lime. read more

We are new to Gilroy and have been seeing this taco truck when we exit Masten. The little area is always busy so we figure it must be good. I've been itching to try it. I decided to stop by yesterday for lunch, and happy to say it was worth every bite! Very affordable, clean area, fast and the service was perfect. The food was good and perfectly cooked with good flavor. Plenty of meat which is a huge thumbs up and even a little bit of avocado and grilled onions. have you ever traveled and all of a sudden you get hungry but there doesn't seem to be any place around??....that was us on monday...out on the 101 in the middle of fields of produce n dirt....but we found this food truck on yelp....hahahaha....ok, so the location is kinda sketchy but hey, there was a line of latinos so the place had to be good, right?? i mean if i go to an asian restaurant and all there is are caucasians, i boogie cuz there hasta be one bruddah in the place to make it legit...so here we were literally in a vegetable field and there's this little trailer....what the heck!! so we ordered a bunch of carnitas tacos...sooo ono! not the friendliest dudes but hey the food tasted great!!...they have a porta potty on site as well!! which is hecka convenient....don't know if i'll be able to find this place again but if i get the munchies goin thru gilroy, i'll hit them up !! read more

Great tacos! Struggled a little because they're not located by San Martín Ave, but approx at 240 Masten Ave Gilroy (Exit Masten Ave to your right if traveling 101 South. The small taco truck is visible to your left, while driving towards Monterey Road. They take phone orders which cause a little delay but worth the wait... My faves will always be from El Grullense in Redwood City but these would be 2nd best. read more

I would give 4.5 stars but it's not an option. This is a great spot right off the freeway. It's very clean and the taco's are yummy. My 5 year old son and I ate 10 El Pastor tacos yesterday and I am ready to go back for some more. I would highly recommend this place. Love this taco truck.. The food is great. Highly recommend the tortas, tacos, and burritos.. Comes highly packed and fills your tummy up at a great price.. The meats are very flavorful and plates come with a side of carmalized onions and roasted chili.. I drive all over Morgan hill and gilroy and this place beats restaurants and other taquerias by far . Gets extremely busy during lunch hour and I do believe that by six they are closing down and leaving.. They set up a nice tent with tables. read more

Best burrito in town. These guys know how to do it right. Tiny little food truck right off the 101 on San Martin. Food is always packed with flavor and freshness. They put a good amount of rice in their burritos, which we like, but some may find it excessive and want to ask for less/none. Tons of good meat (chicken, steak, carnitas, al pastor all excellent), beans, guac. Good amount of heat. We have gone there multiple times. We always order the carnitas burritos, one without the rice and the other without the guacamole. They are always outstanding. Very robust flavor, just the right amount of heat. They come with a small package of condiments on the side, such as chilies, radishes, limes, etc. Absolutely no pieces of fat to pick out like you get at Super Taqueria in Morgan Hill. You can place an order by phone to save a little wait time. The only con is the eating area isn't exactly the best, but hey - it's a food truck. So, now we just eat them at home and have a wonderful meal experience. Totally recommend. read more
