Came in to La Costa Taqueria around lunch time and the place was pretty much empty other than one other person and myself. I usually pass this place by however I thought I would stop in and try their tacos. I frequent the one in San Jose on Alum Rock Avenue which is always very which is always very busy. I figured maybe it's their sister location as they look very similar and the signage is pretty much the same. Walked up to the window and ordered three tacos of carne asada. They come with a side of sautéed onions and jalapeño. The tacos are a good size and they have a good portion of Carne Asada meat on it. The meat is well seasoned and the sautéed onions and jalapeño added to the flavor. I can see myself stopping in again and trying some of the other food they have on the menu. They also offer burritos, tortas, and a variety of seafood items. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating area looks very clean and maintained. read more

It's a nice stop on the road with outdoor and indoor seating, very casual ambiance. You order and pay at the window, and wait for them to call you up. Ordered the carne asada and veggie burrito. Appreciated that the veggie burrito had ingredients usually in super burritos (lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, etc) without that added price compared to meat burritos, and came with a jalapeño on the side. The carne asada was extremely flavorful - nicely grilled and smokey flavor while being tender. One of my favorite carne asadas in NorCal. Portions were average for the price, but would appreciate if they could take out cilantro without taking out onions. read more

Came here for a quick bite to eat before going to a conference. Ordered a El Pastor super burrito: comes with rice beans, jalapeños and avocado. Wifey got some kind of veggie thing "lol" said she loved it. Overall this place gave me a pretty sizable burrito for the price and it was pretty good to. The service was fast too. Food was absolutely delicious, our order consisted of chili verde plate which included beans, rice and choice of tortillas, also ordered the super burrito which included beans, rice, avocado, so darn good! Disclaimer: I grew up in SD. I grew up on border-style / Baja / coastal Mexican food. It's part of my soul. So when I saw "La Costa," I had to give it a try. And I was craving. I ordered the Taco Ensalada with carne asada and a small Jamaica. The meat was juicy and savory, super yummy with the fresh lettuce & cheese (held off on the sour cream). And I loved the way they cooked & fired up a little bit of the edges of the taco salad shell. Sure, the tomato coulda been diced rather than sliced, and the sliced avocado woulda been great as guacamole instead pero it's alll goood . The Jamaica was perfectly sweetened, letting my ice cubes bathe in there while I ate, not worried it would lose its umph. All of it was refreshing with familiar flavors and a taste of "home" for me. Great taco spot. The carnitas super nacho is a stand out star here, the meat is tender and shredded but not dry, the portions are huge, and it's 12$. Also don't sleep on the fish tacos, which could be the best in town when they are fresh. Carne asada and Chile verde are also great. I absolutely love this place for tacos. They are authentic and affordable. It's only $2.50 per taco. I always like to get the al pastor and carne asada. I've only had the tacos there but I would imagine the rest of the food is probably good just by the quality of the tacos. Hence why I'm giving them a five. I've always loved La Costa Taquerias but this was my first time at this location and today, It was just average. It's not like it was bad, but it just wasn't great. Ordered a carne asada torta which was massive but the meat had too many fatty pieces in it. Shrimp cocktail was average and definitely needed some flavor or just salt. I've been on a mission to try different foods in the South Bay. It's been hard to find great options in Gilroy so I often go to SJ or Morgan Hill or just cook. Not sure why my food pictures are not showing when posted even though I uploaded them. . The fish was not crunchy even though it has a batter on it. I would say it's soft batter & fresh with just the right amount of fixings. Not sure why they need to cut up the cabbage so tiny but it made it easy to eat. It may seem a bit healthy/bland but the extra salsa & jalapeño they give on side adds the extra kick if needed. I also ordered the fish ceviche. My husband says it was ok. I couldn't eat it bc the pieces of diced up tiny fish was too mixed in with onions etc for me to eat but I knew this when I ordered it. Restroom was clean too which I was not expecting for this casual joint. It's not the best fish tacos I've had, but terrific option for the South Bay & quick eats. The fish tacos... phenomenal! We were looking for a great taco spot in Morgan Hill and came across this spot on Yelp. It also came highly recommended on several Facebook groups. They're cash only so keep that in mind and make sure you have enough on you to order all of the amazing foods! We've been here twice now and their fish tacos are by far the very best tacos I've had in a long time! They are open during COVID but limited dining space outdoors. I had the fish burrito, which has a generous amount of breaded white fish in it plus rice . Many different bottled salsas are available including Cholula. The burrito came with a couple of roasted Serrano peppers, a piece of radish, and sautéed onions with salt on top-- a little too much salt , I think--seemed more like it was for a beer or cocktail. Horrible! I ordered one burrito. I was told what was going to be inside of it. I got home to find out that I was not given what I ordered. The burrito had hardly anything in it, and was completely missing 1/2 of the stated contents. That being said, stuff that was inside of it was not good. The meat was super dry. It was pretty disgusting and nearly a throwaway . The lady who took my order was OK. The kid who brought my order to the takeout window was super rude. When I nicely asked him for a salsa, he threw it in my bag and was anything but polite. To make matters worse when I looked at my credit card bill it had my one burrito charged and then at midnight I received a fraudulent charge for an extra $22.
