These are the best tacos I've ever, EVER had. Insanely quick service. It has small white tables, likely touching back to back with the table behind you. But to me it's all part of the experience. Drink: Horchata was great, can tell it's from scratch. Definitely a great pairing with tacos. I will say I saw the Jamaica in the back being slow boiled from scratch. Will have to get that next time and update. Tacos: Adobada - easily the best taco they have here. The adobada was juicy, tender, PACKED with flavor. They don't really let it get crunchy on the outside long enough, but I think it's perfect. The salsas on it are perfect as well. It is the perfect taco. Carne Asada - I'm a fan, best carne asada I've had hands down. I love the smoky flavor it has! The guac on it is probably not guac but you could call it anything and it wouldn't matter. This stuff is perfect on its own, a saucy texture and great taste to it. Suadero - this is the part of the cow in between the belly and the leg. Super smooth and tender, I would argue this is way better just on mouthfeel and tenderness compared to the carne asada, but I like the smoky texture better in the carne asada. It's unfortunate eating at other taco places because I am constantly comparing El Franc tacos to other places - and they're just unbeatable thus far. The service is always incredibly fast. This place is literally a perfect stop for late night tacos. My boyfriend and I stopped here first after crossing the border and there were tons of people there around 11pm. I got the iconic al pastor tacos with everything on it while my boyfriend got tripa and asada. The al pastor was to die for. There was absolutely no fat on it and they loaded the taco up with so much meat. The tripa and asada were alright but not too amazing. I went here a few years ago, some of the best tacos I've ever had, and friendly service. Also some of the worst food poisoning I've ever had after, unfortunately. The al pastor taco was good but nothing to rave about. The meat needed more flavor and more char to crisp the edges of the meat. The asada mula really let me down. I have ordered mulas at just about every taco place I have ever been to and not once has the mula came with beans inside of it so it never came to mind I should have to ask for it without. The beans definitely overpowered the mula and the asada didn't have much flavor. Not to mention the amount of grease that made it very difficult to eat without being messy. Hands down the best tacos when visiting Tijuana! It's one of my go to places whenever I happen to visit. They have a variety of different meat choices, which are all so delicious! You can choose from tacos, quesadillas, vampiros, mulitas, and the best part is you get freshly hand-made tortillas! They also have vasos preparados. It consists of a cup with freshly made pot beans with choice of meat (or no meat) completely up to you, along with some cilantro, onions, and salsa, which is so simple, but yet so tasty! The service is great. They are very friendly and welcoming! They also are very quick with bringing your order. I mean they are a great place all-around, from the waiters to the taco makers, everyone always seems happy to help you and try to make your experience a great one. Now before you go and think that this is the 'best' taco stand in TJ, stop right there! It might be the best to you but that is because your limited palate or taco experience is weak. There are other places in TJ that are far better than Franc. Having said that, Franc still makes a damm good taco. This is especially true with their asada tacos. They are nowhere near the legendary Tacos El Yaqui in Rosarito but they are still very tasty. Another thing I love about Franc's is that even with the pandemic going on they still allow you to sit down at their tables to enjoy your tacos there rather then having to take them to-go. Also they have plenty of parking nearby where a guy will watch your car for you for a tip. Great taco stand/restaurant located across from the Hidalgo market. They have a parking lot passed the the restaurant and after the mechanic shop next to it. There was a line but it moved quickly we got sat down at a table with the menu posted on the wall. We all got different tacos; asada, Al pastor aka adobada, tripas (tripe) and some quesadillas. I ordered a mullita which is a quesadilla with carne asada and the fixings. All the food was delicious we also ordered some agua frescas horchata & orange which went well with the tacos. We spent a total of $35 for 3 of us which I would say is pretty fair price. This place I'd recommend for great tacos! read more

I decided to come to TJs and only eat at taquerias. I went to multiple ones and they're all really, really solid. Like 8 out of 10. I had only one complaint: at every place I went to there wasn't really a salsa bar. So all the tacos get served with lime and radishes which is cool, but I'm used to having a salsa bar with pickled onions, pickled carrots, different salsas, etc. If any one of these places had this, the tacos would have been amazing! On the day before Cinco de Mayo, I was reminiscing about a past walking trip to TJ with a group of friends. We decided to hit up this spot after reading several positive reviews. It's a very busy taco joint several blocks east of Av. Revolucion on the edge of the Zonaeste. Pretty much all the tables were filled when we arrived, but the service was still fast. Nearly every item seemed inexpensive at less than 50 pesos. Radishes, cucumbers, and onions were provided as palate cleansers before the tacos arrived. The lengua (beef tongue) was my favorite of the bunch that we tried followed by the adobada. The carne asada was smothered with beans and guacamole which masked the flavor of the meat. At approximately $1.50, that taco was still a great value. I also ordered a hibiscus drink which was nice and refreshing while a couple of folks in our party imbibed with a cerveza. Tacos El Franc is a place I would come back for a future visit the next time we're walking through TJ in search of good, cheap tacos. read more
