If you've been to one Tacos El Gordo, you've been to them all. This is not my usual El Gordo location, but we happened to be near downtown and this was the closest one to us. Everyone knows the deal here. There are different lines based on the type of meat you want, which is indicated by the signs. Very straightforward. Obviously, the lines are shorter here because it's not as busy as the highly popular Strip location. Since this was an unplanned trip after eating a very heavy dinner, I wasn't even going to order anything. But the smell of that adobada always gets you. So I gave in and ordered one adobada taco. I could tell this wasn't going to be a peak adobaca taco because the meat on the rotating spit was almost done for the night. It was alright, could've used more flavor and definitely could've been crispier. Overall, every trip to El Gordo is still good, even if this one wasn't the best.
Can't fly to San Diego? Vegas is just as good! The service and set up is just as good as in San Diego! We got a mix of meat and type of choice of taco and quesadilla. Meats are chopped up on the spot and all of the toppings are delicious as always. Can't go wrong with this this location and the food! Definitely recommend.
AMAZING So first timer and is definitely a must when I make it back out to Vegas! Arrived at about 11:30am and was there a line? Yes Was there a wait? NO lol everything is sectioned off so we were able to get a mixture without having to wait. Now for what's important... The tacos were the BOMB. The salsa wasn't as spicy as I thought. Meat was flavorful ( Pastor, Chorizo, lengua and asada) Lengua and Pastor were the BEST. You also have the option to order cactus, onions and grilled chiles. It was so good my boyfriend had to get another taco before leaving lol Seating was as very simple. You find a table, eat and clean up after yourself lol
Yum. $4+ tacos are pricey. For some reason tacos, pho and Chinese food are all more expensive (and usually suck) compare to LA. LA tacos are $1.75-$2.50. It been pretty difficult to get consistently good tacos near us (unless travel to Broad acres). So at $4 a taco with food amount of protein (with cilantro, onions and sauce), is not bad for us. Same ordering process as the strip El Gordo. Stand in the meat line of your choice, then pay at the counter. - $4.44 Lengua, $4.12 buche, $4.12 cabeza, $4.12 tripa we're all pretty good. Red and green sauces per taco is pretty good. Some meats are salted, some are not as seasoned. Cabeza was amazing today! - $4.12 Adobada Pork is my SO's favorite. Not to self that 2 tacos is enough for me. If I am really really really hungry, then 3? For the SO, 3 is perfect amount. Tortilla didn't seem fresh homemade but it wasn't bad. Is it as good as then strip? Kinda? Depends who and when their fresh handmade tortillas are being used? Overall those local spot is less hassle.
Dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada... Out of the four Las Vegas locations of Tacos El Gordo, I have been to this one once before (with Angel and Lyla) and the one on The Strip once (with Gloria and Tim). I like this Charleston Boulevard location more than the one on The Strip because the parking situation is better and the interior seems more spacious and clean. The one on The Strip is crowded and loud! This one is calm and seems more organized. I explained to my roommate that you pick up your food from each station by looking at the signs above and bringing your tray to the cashier when you're ready. Cups for the self-service beverage station and bottles of soft drinks are available from the cashier, too. Fresh wedges of lime and radish slices and chunks are available at the condiment bar. I got the adobada taco with everything. It had two corn tortillas, topped with pineapple, veggies, and spicy salsa. Wow. My mouth was burning... LOL! However, the thinly sliced pork was grilled and tasty! Yum! I also got a horchata (drink). It really helped cool my mouth down. The rice water with cinnamon flavor was comforting! I wouldn't mind returning to this location!
Tacos El Gordo is home to some of the best tacos. They serve exotic meats like cabeza, lengua, and buche while also serving the fan favorites like adobada and asada. A must order is the asada fries! A new personal favorite of mine is the suadero, which is the shoulder of the cow. At least that's how it was explained to me by Nico the security guard. This guy was really nice and opened the door for my party and explained the menu and different lines of the restaurant. The more conservative people in my group stayed with the carne asada while myself and my compa were able to try our favorites like lengua, cabeza and suadero. The suadero was amazing here. It was my first time trying it. Very tender and flavorful. Going to need to find a local place in Sacramento that makes it. The lengua here is rip notch. The taquero even pulled it out and started dicing it up right there which shows me how fresh and authentic it is here. This location was closest to old Vegas and the wait was almost non existent. Within 15 we were sitting at a table eating.
Love this place sooo much!! The food here is amazing. Definitely a must try place if you're looking for authentic tasting Mexican food. This place gets packed and there's a good reason why. Their food is made fresh including their tortillas. The service is fast and the workers are friendly. Try out their campechana fries if you're looking for a flavor bomb! It's like their version of carne asada fries with their famous adobada (pork) added in as well. If you decide to order inside, there's a separate line for each meat so make sure you aware of which line you're standing in. This location also has a drive thru, which is super convenient. I prefer this location over the one on the strip because it's not as crowded but there is a bit of wait anytime that you go (but it's worth it). Ambiance is fast casual but there's a decent amount of tables to sit! Parking at this location is easy since it's in a huge plaza.
Love love the el pastor tacos with pineapple on top. The salsa and the pineapple are the best combination! The restaurant was clean with seating inside and outside. The lines are clearly labeled by meat, vegetables, and handmade tortillas which are sooo good! The lines moved quickly and the people assisting us were very friendly with their quick service.
Superb Tacos. What a difference in taste and in presentation. The guacamole was amazing given the amount. The fries was fried fresh and even more guac was on the fries. This place serves really good food . The inside has a nice place to sit and eat

Not a fancy place, but this place had one of the BEST quesadillas/tacos we've had! The quesadillas are individual serving-size, but they're loaded with meat, melted cheese, cilantro, guacamole, & medium-spicy salsa. The quesadillas seem to be the better value compared to the tacos, which are on smaller side. Pork & steak quesadillas/vampiro/sole is $7.54 each. If you love meat, you may need 2. The service was quick & friendly. Very simple, functional interior, but clean.
Tacos El Gordo... It has received a lottttt of hype & with that also hate. Critics have called it just hype & mediocre taste. However, hubby & I loved it! It definitely has an authentic taste. The meats are what really make it stand out because each one is so flavorful! Would i wait 2 hrs for it? Probably not. That's why i am so happy that at this location it wasn't packed & they also had a drive thru, total time just took 10 mins. We definitely would go again. 10/10 we would recommend IF you're not making the crazy line. If you are then it would be like a 6/10 bc there's other options without having to waste so much time. Also, the price was fair, not necessarily cheap or expensive- look at the last slide for our total Inside it looked like a reg fast food joint, but I would eat in my car if it's too packed inside. Ps: sorry for the shaky clips we were eating while my dad was driving & he uses the brake alot
It was a late Saturday night and we were in the mood for tacos. The Tacos El Gordo located near the convention center was too packed, so we decided to take the drive to Charleston and check out this location off the strip. Upon arrival, it was a little busy, but nothing compared to the other location. The steak line was long and the other lines were relatively short. The wait was probably 15-20 minutes for steak, but it also allowed us to get a table that could seat our family. We ended up ordering steak and al pastor tacos as well as quesadillas and fries. The quesadillas we had were only cheese and they were really really good. The handmade tortilla and cheese was a perfect blend, but we tasted the same thing with the steak tacos. The al pastor came with regular tortillas, which wasn't bad, but the handmade was much more preferred. I ordered an al pastor quesadilla which was not too bad, but I ended up eating it like a taco. Overall, this location's meat seemed a little more flavorful and the tortillas were more tasty, but not sure what could be the difference since they're the same chain. We will definitely check this place out again if we get the opportunity! Cost wise, I didn't see too much of a difference but it was worth it because of how tasty everything was.

Possibly the best carne asada tacos around. The tortillas, the toppings all of it was absolutely perfect. I didn't care for the adobada, I feel like the meat was just ok, but the salsas on it were fire and made them worth eating, the tortillas were a little too greasy for me. My husband and son got the tripa, lengua and buche. They only said good things about those meats. We were all extremely impressed by how good everything was. Just like Mexico! There was a security guard on the premises so not sure what goes down around there. Service was pretty good and there was a good amount of seating but the sun was a little abrasive because there are no window coverings. Overall this will probably be a place we go back to when in Vegas. read more
Tacos are made to order so you know they come out hot and fresh. Each line dictates what you're waiting for so make sure to read the board on top. Pastor tacos are delicious and my go-tos. You can ask for additional sauce at the counter. Lengua fries were loaded with meat and the half portion is more than enough! read more

The service is quick and efficient. The food quality is always great. I always recommend the al pastor. This location is way better than the one on the street and less expensive. I still believe the San Diego location is best. read more

The tacos were real good. I chose the work tacos with everything on them. How ordering works: you stand in line for the meat you want and order the style of food you want, tacos quesadilla, etc. Then go to another line if you want different meat. After that you pay at the counter. Great place! Would go again. read more

It has a very small menu mostly tortillas plus meats no beans or rice on this menu. Little spicy for me but hot for others! Oily excessive soft tacos shells but tasty. read more
Quality/Quantity - Adobada Taco, Pork - Mi favorito! My favorite. Almost like "char siu" Asian BBQ pork. Asada Taco De Asada, Beef - Good, but the guacamole sauce was not to my liking. And my daughter and I struggled with some of the beef ligament pieces... Maybe we should have brought it to their attention??? Half/Medium Campechana Fries, Beef & Pork - My daughter wanted this. Good, except the sour cream and guacamole sauce was not to my liking. Next time I will ask for that on the side. Again, my daughter and I struggled with some of the beef ligament pieces... We also should not have gotten the same 2 meats for both the tacos and fries. We could have switched it up. This would be a 5 star review if all the beef pieces were good. Simple menu, usually done well. We really liked their San Diego location! Condiment bar. Self service drinks. Atmosphere - Clean, lean, well run business! Indoor, outdoor seating available. Drive thru available. Plenty of parking. Open 7 days a week, from 10am to 2am or 4am. Service - 5 stars. The servers were good and welcoming. The cashier was good and very nice. Price - $22 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1972 and with your 7 locations. 1998 - San Diego. 2010 - Las Vegas. read more
A true Las Vegas staple. This location always seems to taste the best to me. It's smaller and harder to find a seat than in the newer Town Square location, but I'd eat the food off the floor of their dumpster if I had to. It's that good. These adobada tacos are the closest thing I've had to authentic tacos al pastor in Mexico. Don't be deterred by long lines, they move fast and the tacos are worth it. read more
I'm from Cali and I loooooooove Tacos El Gordo especially when I'm visiting San Diego. Las Vegas is no exception. I will say, due to inflation, the tacos have gotten pricer but I think it's a good bang for your buck. You just can't beat the quality. Adobada/al pastor is my go-to but the suadero one was really good. The meat was nicely seasoned and the lime I added to it made it mouth watering. I'm curious to try a mulita next time, but oh yes, Taco El Gordo is straight fire my friend. Something I heard from the locals is to avoid the one off the strip because prices are higher than this location. read more

First time trying this place. Uber driver said it's always busy and it sure was busy BUT luckily not too bad for us. There are three lines tho so keep that in mind when ordering. You have to order accordingly at the perspective line and cannot order everything at one line. Whoops. They were nice enough to make our orders anyway. We totally appreciated that! Food was authentic tasting and just savory and delicious. They also have a little side table with lime and radishes. It's really a fast food place so not much seating. We did have to sit outside in the cold but it's ok. We ate quickly waiting for our uber. There was also a nice man singing some songs playing his guitar. Don't forget to tip him. read more
This location is in downtown Las Vegas far from tourist attractions. Less crowded and locals version. This was my first time to a Tacos El Gordo. I was confused on how to order: basically, there are multiple lines to order from depending on what food you want. After you get your food, you go to the cashier and pay. The food is decent but did not blow my mind. However, the prices did. $4.12 for a tiny street taco. Three of them fit in my hand, and I do not have large hands (and that does not mean anything). It was almost $27 with tax for six tacos. Radishes and limes available at the self serve bar. Hot sauce available on request from the cashier. read more

Fast service, clean restaurant, and delicious food! We got the adobada tacos and steak tacos! So fresh and so much topping and amazing sauces. Tacos are absolutely delicious! Highly recommend! read more
After looking at the line out the door and not finding parking at their location on the strip. Did a quick search and found this location not to far away. More parking at this location. Crowded inside but at least no line out the door. I see that this location also has drive thru service. As noted the inside lines are long, taking at least 10 minutes from the back to reach the front order area. Food is tasty as always, prices are creeping up. Didn't realize there are 4 locations in Vegas. Maybe will check out the one by the airport next time if we are that side of Vegas. read more

WOW, I'm speechless after eating these tacos. I saw this restaurant appear on several lists as a must try while in Vegas. There are a few locations off the strip. When you walk in, you'll see several of the staff members in different meat stations. For example, there was a station for steak and chorizo, another for lengua and suadero, and finally, the asadero. I tried the steak, chorizo, suadero, and asadero. Normally, three tacos are my max, but I had to try more while here! I can't even decide which was my favorite - they were all delicious. The chorizo was slightly crispy, and the suadero was super tender. The asadero had an incredible green sauce. I'm accustomed to Milagro tortillas from Chicago, and even the tortillas here were something else! I would go to Nevada or Cali just to eat at another Tacos el Gordo. read more
They are known for their al pastor so I HAD to try that. I ordered an al pastor mulita with a tortilla de maiz - I could cry how good it was. I also ordered a sope de carne asada it was ok, there was no beans it's just a ton of cheese and meat, can't complain about that. The guy serving the meat was so nice, there was no line. Food was mehhhh. Came in at a slow time which is unusual. Tacos were tasty but not as good as the time time we were out here. Do NOT I MEAN DO NOT GET THE "QUESADILLA" because it isn't your typical one. It's a small tortilla quesadilla made into a make shift taco with a house toasted mini corn tortilla on top for almost $7. Happy to get orange bang only for it to be super flat. Adobada meat was my favorite this time around. Location was clean. Unfortunately can't say the same for the outside. Came for a late night order of tacos after going to Fremont street. This location is definitely chiller than the one near the strip. We were able to order and get our food in a reasonable time. Both tacos were super yummy and all the topping were great as well. They have a little side bar that has limes and radishes and such. Also tried the vanilla gelatin. Overall a great experience and very reasonably priced tacos. Recommend to anyone in Vegas looking for delicious tacos. read more

What kind of cheese do they use in their quesadilla?
Is there any entree that is gluten free here? Does this restaurant use a shared fryer for things like flour taquitos that would cross contaminate gluten free corn tortilla chips? I have Celiac disease and have to eat gluten free.
This is a Mexican restaurant. Boy no they have nothing gluten free.
Do they do to go orders?
Walk In and order to go. They wrap in foil or put in a to-go container, depending on what you order.
They don't serve Chicken anything?
Nahhhh, it's a taco spot not a chicken place...who eats chicken tacos anyways??
