Its about time that I've made a review for this taco spot. I used to go here when I was younger, every Friday night my father would bring me here to get some late night tacos. Although I haven't been here recently, I can still remember the distinct taste of the tacos on a late evening. The vibe was pretty cool too! Had music playing in the background. And a good variety of food. I'm pretty sure they've upgraded to a better food truck over the years, which is great! The service is also very great, the cook was pretty friendly. I'm pretty sure they used to have a small little area for condiments, but im not sure if they still have it. My go to order would be the carne Asada tacos. What a great find! Honestly this was not our first choice for tacos. We had initially went to Tacos El Gordo but the line wrapped around the building and the drive through line wrapped around the parking lot. After searching a bit on yelp (while waiting in line), we decided to just go here. So glad we did! Tacos (5): I ended up getting a couple al pastor, 1 asada, and 1 chorizo tacos. All were amazing. Generally when I go to a taco stand, there's 1 clear standout. Not here. The asada wasn't overcooked or dry at all. The al pastor was charred nicely and had great flavor. And the chorizo... amazing! Next time I'll have to try the tripas and lengua. Tacos Dorados (4): These were interesting. Like mashed potato inside a fried shell. The cabbage and cheese on top was a nice cool contrast. I'd probably save my calories for the meats next time though. Salsas (5): What brought everything together was their salsas. Again, generally at taco stands, there's even a clear standout with their salsas as well. Both the verde and roja were outstanding and had a good kick. The orange salsa that came with the tacos dorados wasn't as spicy but added a nice flavor. Hands down my top favorite taco truck in Vegas. My boyfriend and I always come here at least once every month when we have our mini staycation. Our go to are the asada and pastor tacos. They are $2 each. They do a good job wrapping everything up so it's nice and warm by the time we get back to our hotel. This is our go-to place when we are craving tacos! Yum! Really hits the spot when you're craving street tacos. Carne asada, al pastor and chorizo tacos were all excellent. I also got the carne asada fries because of all the praise they were getting in recent reviews, but they didn't live up to the hype imo. If you like poutine you'll like them. This place is also super cheap. Definitely worth the short drive of the strip- you should for the quality alone, but the prices are also a nice incentive. read more

They were good it was a good truck at an event they we attended. The service was good the staff is friendly. It took alittle bit to get order but they're rare trying hard to make the orders correct. Was craving some late night tacos & came for the consistently solid reviews. Definitely not disappointed. I wanted to try a few things so I ordered the asada, pastor, chorizo & potato tacos. Jamaica on the side for good measure. In order of favorites: 1. Asada: Well seasoned & tender, great meat/onion/cilantro ratio. Super minimal, no extra nonsense. I hit it with some of the caramelized onion & tomatillo salsa, had it SINGING like a gospel choir in my mouth. 2. (Surprisingly) Potato: I'll die on a hill that says tacos shouldn't be fried crunchy, but this may be the only exception. Comes with cotija & shredded cabbage on top and a side of what tastes like the sauce from curtido. Overall super balanced and textural. 3. Chorizo: Very savory and tasty, good amount of spice. This one went best with the hot, spicy red salsa. It was good enough to order again. 4. Pastor: I feel like this is probably an unfair assessment considering I'm not a pork person, but I didn't hate it. I ate it, however wouldn't get it again though due to the initial statement. Jamaica (separate but equal): I feel like it's really hard to mess up Jamaica but I will say it was perfect. Not cloying, medicinal, syrupy, or weak. It was just right. Overall, very solid and would definitely come back. Just be mindful of parking since it IS a taco truck in a small lot. read more

While the food is quiet delicious, the prices aren't Went in the other day and spent 3.25-3.75 a taco ! Now I get inflation and prices going up but for it to be a very small taco that's kinda pricey...It's not a super loaded taco either it simply has chopped cilantro and white onions with some limes on the side. A few radish slices and if you like onions ask for them grilled (not sure if there's an extra charge for that) Don't forget to add some of their Salsa roja and verde, the red salsa is spicy but tasty. The green salsa was slightly citrusy and flavorful yummm. Parking is difficult if it's your first time, park at "play it again Sam " if your lucky and not a busy night. They have some chairs to sit, but no tables. Always some great music. Turnaround time 10 mins or less if they aren't busy. read more

I guess I'll go 5 stars on this one. I found parking right in the lot that it is located. I got there on the later side (10pmish?) and they were in full swing. I ordered 5 tacos. I think I just got carne asada and pastor, but everything I had was good. The tacos were not tiny and were filled nicely. I added some condiments on them from the condiment bar. $1.50 a piece. They ran out of nopales at the condiment bar, but I'm willing to overlook that as I was not anticipating them to begin with even though they would have been a nice touch. There are chairs set up outside of the truck for you to eat on. There are also a few stools on the truck, but those were occupied. This was exactly what I was looking for on the late night off the strip. I know that isn't late for vegas, but it was a week night and I had been all busy all day and night previously. Driving down Spring Mountain Road at night during commute hours you can easily miss this new taco truck that opened up last week. But if you noticed the brightly lite interior of a white trailer with a few bar chairs setup right at the counter, then you have spotted Tacos "La Carreta". The visual reminded me of the food stalls in night markets in Asia, but this is way cleaner. Their menu is pretty simple, tacos, burritos, quesadilla, tortas, paras and even hot dogs. The portion is smaller but so is the price tag. I feel that it is portioned just right for you to sample more of their menu. The Lengua Taco is my favorite of all the items I ordered. The owner, Juan Carlos, also made me a potato taco that I have never tried before. My mouth enjoyed the new experience. The owner and the cashier lady are super nice, and the entire taco truck is kept super clean. Way cleaner than some kitchens I have seen around the Las Vegas valley that conspicuously display their "A" rating from the local health inspection. The food is pretty good, but could benefit from further refinement. But that is just my opinion, and I am not at all an expert in Mexican food. Service is fast and friendly. And after awhile waiting for a friend to arrive, a steady flow of Spanish speaking patrons started arriving. So that is a good sign I think. Come check them and support a local new business. Tacos La Carreta is still a favorite taco spot for me in Las Vegas. I gave their brick and mortar location 5 stars, but their truck is as good, if not better, for a few reasons: 1. If you're at the truck, it's probably late night and you're probably having tacos after drinks. 2. Tacos from trucks always taste better. Duh. 3. Tacos taste better when eaten outside. The crowd here is a mix of folks getting off work from nearby restaurants and drunken idiots looking for a greasy treat. It's part of the charm. Despite being located in an area with strip malls that have terrible, absolutely shitty, parking, there's ample parking near the truck because the tire shop next door is usually closed. Though the area surrounding the truck is compact, all the essentials are within reach, including the orange-colored salsa that you should drown all your tacos in. If you frequent the brick and mortar location, you'll notice the staff is the same. I have no idea how they do this but give them lots of props for this. Still one of the best, so-close-to-So-Cal tasting tacos I've gotten my grubby hands on since moving out here. read more

If you're craving Michoacán style food, this place definitely hits the spot. While the actual restaurant is better, IMO, the food truck version is almost as good. They serve dishes like enchiladas, tortas, sopes, etc. as well as agua fresca. It's decently priced as well so you won't break the bank. I can't believe I've never seen this place before. I've driven by it so many times. Now the location is not the best! And parking is very limited! But the food is worth it. We had the potato tacos, carne asada torta, tripe and Adobada tacos, hot dog, and horchata and Jamaica. The potato tacos were amazing!! Fresh and the red salsa they add has a great flavorful taste. The potato tacos were not greasy at all. The carne asada torta was okay. The meat was okay but the beans need help. They are so plain and I would recommend ordering the torta with no beans to appreciate all the flavors. The tripe and adobada tacos were amazing!!! Tripe was well cooked and you have the choice of ordering it extra crispy. The adobada were great and I love that they dont all the sauces on the tacos. They only add cilantro and onion, the sauces are in a seperate station and you can add what you like. The hot dog taste great but it's their version of an L.A. hot dog. The hot dog is wrapped in bacon, they add dice uncooked tomato, onion, and only ketchup and mustard. I skipped the jalapenos. I think this would be much better it the cooked their onion but it's their version of it. Last but not least, the horchata and Jamaica. Omg, very delicious.
