TLDR: It doesn't matter which branch you go to. Taco stand always delivers, and I've never hated a meal here. MAR Y TIERRA BURRITO - It's still the lightest burrito that provides the most size. I can't say enough good things about the aioli that they use to add flavor profiles to the shredded vegetables used to add body to the burrito. The steak and shrimp used here were good as usual, and the cheese added in is always a welcome surprise. Pescado Taco - The grilled fish taco is one of their better tacos. It's a meaty fish bite, and you get the "signature" slaw + avocado slice. Baja Taco - Most of their tacos are given the sauce + slaw combo along with the protein. I feel that the baja improves in my taco ranking depending on how much fish I get per taco. The batter is amazing and it's really a question if you want to eat fried fish or not. Camaron Taco - Crunchy shrimp, and very good slaw. But I feel that the shrimp is best paired with the steak, thankfully, they have a mar y tierra taco, which I think is the better thing to order. Taco spot under an apartment complex with decent parking. It was my first time trying it as I was craving street tacos and yes they are street tacos, therefore, I don't see a reason for 1 taco to cost over $4. Ordered a couple different ones: chicken which was dry and needed sauce and there was no flavor, fish which the fish tasted nice and was lightly breaded, however, there was just a tiny amount of sauce on the top, pastor which also was dry and felt like the pineapples were counted before putting it on, lastly, mushroom which was the only one that was flavorful and had a decent amount. I also requested extra sauce, onions, cilantro and lime on the side which was not there. The staff looked like they were over it and weren't all that welcoming. And the ordered was placed online for pickup but was not ready when I got there. It was Friday afternoon so I get there was kind of a lunch rush but that should be expected I feel. We were so hungry after a concert and happened to see this spot on our way back home. Thank goodness we stopped because the tacos here really hit the spot after a few drinks. We have been going to Taco Stand a lot recently. The original location was founded in San Diego in 2013 by two guys from Tijuana. There are locations in Southern California, Florida, and Texas, We like how easy it is to get good food fast here. Parking at this location is ample. There's usually not a line when we go and the staff is always friendly. You order at the counter and then seat yourself. Sometimes it takes a little while to get your food, but that's fine because it's made fresh. My favorite items are the carne asada tacos, as well as the camaron (shrimp) tacos and elote. They also offer burritos, quesadillas, carne asada fries, and churros. There is a self-serve salsa bar that offers varying spice levels, from mild to extra spicy. Looking for a late night eat as everything in Chinatown was closing or closed! Stumbled upon this place closer to the freeway entrance and boi were we surprised. It was pretty busy for a Sunday late night & it definitely wasn't a loud environment. Walking into the place it was bright, employees were friendly, and the menu was bold with so many options! We ordered 1 fish taco with the works, 3 grilled chicken tacos with everything but guacamole, & a California burrito and nothing disappointed. Everything was fresh, seasoned perfectly, and the flavors were memorable! Service was also quick! They had a huge selection of glass bottled beers and drinks including Mexican Coke. The salsa stand was to die for so many choices and not one of them disappointed in the flavor department. Tables had drink holders on the side which is a super idea so more space for more food on the table. Wall decor had beautiful art and vibrant colors. Soda fountain and condiments stations were available. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Ambiance was just wonderful. Authentic Mexican restaurant right at the heart of Las Vegas. We dined-in and ordered 2 mushroom tacos, 1 shrimp taco, 1 chicken asado taco, 1 Al pastor taco, and 2 churros. Everything from taco meats and seafood, veggies, tortillas, and churros were so fresh, flavorful, and yummy. Churros were thick and condense milk made it quite a supreme dessert. Coming from Southern California, where there are plenty of great taco shops, I can say Taco Stand is solid. The carne asada is well-seasoned and authentic, the al pastor is great, and the carne asada fries are delicious. The spicy shrimp taco was excellent too. The manager was super friendly and made sure we were enjoying our food. I love it here. The carne asada they use as a better quality mean than some of their competitors. If you're looking for tacos in the Spring Mountain area, this is probably your only option. The tacos are more gourmet by providing a clean taste with a slightly higher price point. We ordered 2 al pastor tacos and the carne asada fries. The tacos are great as they have a really clean taste and comes has it's own sauce on it. The carne asada fries on the other hand were good, but not great. In my opinion it was less salty and was missing some type of essence that I was looking for. I wasn't drunk, but I feel like this flavor wouldn't be what you're looking for after a night of drinking in Vegas. The location is pretty spacious, but there are times when it gets busy and you may have to get lucky to have a spot to eat at. This place can do a little better as far as cleanliness. It has potential but there was trash all on the ground and the trash was full. The little bit of effort would have made the experience a little better. The service is decent, but if there is a line, you may find yourself waiting outside in the cold/hot depending on the season. This place does its job by providing your taco fix with a clean taste but not a crave-able taste in my opinion. The salsa bar is dangerous because I always grab too much. They've got mild ones and spicy ones so you can mix it up depending how brave you're feeling that day. The al pastor tacos are a must. They shave the meat right off the spit and throw pineapple on it and it just hits every time. The carne asada is also really good, super juicy and flavorful, especially on the fries. The shrimp tacos are another favorite, the shrimp are grilled perfectly and the sauce has a little kick but nothing crazy. If you're hungry hungry or sharing, the carne asada fries are the move. They're loaded and filling. And don't skip the churros. They come out warm with condensed milk and they're honestly the perfect way to end the meal. Grilled fish taco, chicken and carne asada are my go to items along with a corn on the cob. Hand made tortillas is a plus! Cashiers are quick, efficient and nice, even when super busy. service moves quickly and you can always find a clean table for a quick bite. Love that it is a Mexican rest in China town, next to a French bakery. I work in the area and it helps me diversify my cuisine options during break. A couple weeks ago my friend asked if I'd ever tried "The Taco Stand," and I immediately asked her which taco stand because... I've eaten my share of tacos. So, what does one do when having FOMO? We make the 28-minute drive down to Chinatown on Thursday afternoon, and honestly, totally worth it. I can easily see this place getting packed on weekends or at night though, so weekday afternoons are definitely the move. We both ordered the Pollo Asado, Al Pastor, and Carne Asada tacos + a Carne Asada Fries, and we left so full. We actually had to pack up one of each of our taco's to each later! The tacos are street-taco sized but loaded with protein, which I love. All three had great flavor, but the Carne Asada stole the show for me -- so tender and flavorful.
