    Farm House Burrito
    Anh H.

I would rate this a 4.5/5 if I could! SO good and SO stacked. The breakfast burritos are hefty. Service: I placed an order for pick up online. They order was slated for 25 mins but ready within 15 mins. Parking: This is a food truck parked in downtown Santa Ana. Parking can be a little difficult depending on the day and time. Breakfast Burritos - SO good. Large portions, hash browns remained crispy, and great salsa. - Breky Burrito (5/5): I ordered the build your own option with over easy eggs + carne asada (Additional $5). The carne asada was tender and you can really taste the smokiness from the grill. - Farm House (4.5/5): Also a great option! I ordered this with the tri-tip. Tri-tip was also very tender. My only complaint from this burrito, is I wish they gave me an option to order over easy eggs instead of the default scrambled eggs. Definitely making a trip back here for their breakfast burritos!

This happens to be my first review of a food provider operating from a catering truck and so glad that I was influenced by the review of fellow Yelpers to give Tacos El Gringo a try. They assemble some very tasty tacos and I happy to share my recent experience. My "go to" proteins when trying Mexican cuisine is to try the Carne Asada, Pollo (Asada when available), and/or Carnitas. On this occasion, I was able to sample all three. As you can see from the pictures, their portions are very impressive with a single taco able to take care of a taco fix. But, since it was a Friday, one just would not do, so I went with all three. The flavor of each protein was very good with the right balance of crispiness with juiciness and a good depth of flavor. I was hoping to add guacamole, but unfortunately, it was not an option, so I ordered and added slices of avocado. These ingredients with the sauce/salsa option really elevated each one of these tacos. The onions, cilantro, salsa and avocado hit the mark. One great discovery is the quality and uniqueness of the salsas. Excellent flavor with the added spices to remind you of legitimate "soul food." I was not a fan on the cream sauce, both those around me enjoyed it, nevertheless. My dive into the Catering Truck side of things went very well and I can understand the lines awaiting the creations from the Tacos El Gringo kitchen. Very good taco spot and one that I would recommend.

After my disappointing experience, Ryan reached out to me to make this right. I came back for a comped burrito and also ordered a second for my husband. I got the Breky burrito with carne asada again and my husband tried the Breky burrito with al pastor. I had zero problems with getting the comped burrito. I came on a Wednesday so it was $3 off the burritos. Ryan even gave me a sticker for my daughter. Let me tell you, these burritos were absolute perfection The tortilla definitely tastes homemade and I love it. The burritos are heavy and filled nicely. I love the creamy Chipotle sauce and my husband loves the salsa verde. I'm so tempted to go back every week. Maybe multiple times a week The protein choices do change every day so you don't really know until you get there but I think the carne asada, al pastor, pollo, and chorizo/soy-rizo are the staples. Definitely come here for one of the best breakfast burritos in Santa Ana! They're generous with their sauces too. You can ask for whatever you want and they'll give it to you with a smile. Give them a shot, you won't regret it.

Had this spot recommended to me by a coworker and I'm so glad they are open on Easter! Wanted a hearty breakfast to hold me over until Easter dinner later tonight and this completely hit the spot. Beautiful blue blue truck parked on fourth Street that serves some incredible breakfast burritos. The smells emanating from the truck as you wait are absolutely mouthwatering. I love that they have clear windows so you can watch them as they make your food. If they're busy, be prepared for a bit of a wait but I can assure you it's worth it. It was a bit busy this morning and it took about 30 minutes for me to get my order. I ordered a Chilaquiles burrito with Al Pastor and a Breky burrito with chicken. Both were absolutely delicious. Chilaquiles burrito did benefit from some added salsa, but the Breky burrito was perfect all on its own. I did only try their habanero salsa and salsa Verde so next visit I plan to try their other two salsas, the chipotle and red salsa. With this spot being so close to me I 100% plan to be back and I highly recommend it

Was introduced to this place by some coworkers and this is my new favorite breakfast burrito (and taco) spot hands down. I got the farmhouse burrito and it was worth every penny! This place sets the example of what a good breakfast burrito should be! I love their Chipotle sauce! Warning for the spicy loving people, their habañero sauce is not for the faint of heart, it is straight up pureed habañero. It's good but very spicy. Their meats are all perfectly cooked! I had their al pastor the other day and it was also perfectly done.

Just picked up a burrito and it is full of hair so nasty never coming back. Wish I had taken the picture before removing some I found earlier

First time coming here and I'm impressed. The burrito is huge. The green and habanero salsa are my favorite. But be warned the habanero sauce is spicy. They are not stingy with their servings look at the pic that big piece of avocado in the taco. The staff is friendly it does get busy and you have to pay for parking but it's not bad I only paid 2.85 for 1hr and 24 mins. 10/10 recommended

This truck is a top contender for best breakfast burrito. Not best in OC, or best in LA, I'm talking about best PERIOD. Everything is balanced perfectly. Its not small like most of the new school breakfast burritos. The salsas are on point. The pork belly was perfectly crispy, and you get all the ingredients in every bite. This is the best breakfast burrito I've had. And I've had ALOT of breakfast burritos. I would definitely drive from the SGV to Santa Ana to get it again.

Came here for a breakfast burrito Wednesday morning and was pleasantly surprised! I got a standard breakfast burrito with asada and Wednesdays they have $3 off burritos so had a nice discount on it. I really enjoyed this burrito, you could see the guys grilling the tortillas over their open flame grill adding some great flavor. The eggs were nice and fluffy, the steak was tender and juicy, and the tater tots were crispy crunchy and delicious! This was not greasy it was nice tasty clean and very filling! I did notice after the fact the lack of cheese, maybe mine didn't come with cheese but there was no taste or stringy cheese. The orange sauce is SPICY!! It was very good, creamy and HOT but added good flavor! If you need a good breakfast burrito in Santa Ana this is a great spot!

After seeing this place on social media I decided to try it since I was close by. I saw that I could order online so I placed an order for 2 breakfast burritos. I placed an order around 10:30am and it was ready by 10:45am. I picked them up and went home. When I opened my burritos I saw that one of them wasn't what I ordered. I ordered one Breky burrito and one Farm House burrito. The one labeled farm house was actually a chilaquiles with tri-tip. I was disappointed that my order was wrong. But I will say that both burritos were really good!

    Breaky Burrito with Asada
    Mariah S.

10/10 recommend Tacos El Gringo. I'm genuinely so happy to see them getting more business because they absolutely deserve it. The food is always worth the wait, and the staff is very friendly and always upfront about wait times (if there is one) before you order. I've been coming here for over a year now and have loved everything I've tried. My go-to is their breky burrito with asada (or sometimes bacon). I've also tried the chilaquiles burrito, farmhouse burrito, and their classic chorizo breakfast burrito. Everything has ALWAYS hit the spot. My eyes are bigger than my stomach and I can never finish the entire burrito (although I do get close). Their green salsa is my favorite. I have a toddler-level spice tolerance, and it's perfect for me. If you can handle anything beyond that, definitely try their other salsas. They're usually set up outside of Hopper & Burr, but sometimes they're at catering events or other spots, so it's worth checking their Instagram (@tacos_el_gringo) before you head over. They also have online ordering! Pro tip: grab a drink from Hopper & Burr while you wait.

I had a chilaquile burrito and let me tell you that the food was incredible. Everyone working the truck was so nice and they made our food quick. I really enjoyed the burrito and I will be back again to try other items.

Long awaited review. We've been coming here since Jan 2023 at the Anaheim location. It's 2026 and we were still trying to go once a week for their queso tacos and chilaquiles burrito. You know when you try something for the first time and are hyper fixated because it's so good but then drop it after a month. Well it's been years lol and we can't drop it because Ryan and his crew literally have the best tacos all around. Just try them. Everything is 10/10. Thank you guys!!

There's plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating as well. Food came relatively quickly as well for all of us, and drinks came out right away. Wait was maybe 5-10 minutes but all the food was freshly made! FOOD: They don't have too big of a menu, but that's not bad. I tried the carne asada, el pastor, and the mushroom tacos + queso tacos. The tacos were a lot bigger than larger tacos, coming at roughly $4 per taco. I would recommend the queso tacos because i LOVE cheese but the regular tacos are good. The quesadillas were very filling and there was a lot to them as well if you want something that'll fill you up more than a taco. SERVICE: Service was good. Everyone who helped us was very nice. PARKING: There is street parking and parking lots around the area for you to walk in--all of which are paid parking. You can use an app for the lots or use coins for the street parking. I've gone here during the day and night and I haven't had any issues with parking at all. INTERIOR: The interior is very simple: warm tones with benches. If you have a big party, you most likely will have to split up between multiple tables. For us, a party of 10, we divided it between 4 and 6, though the 6 was a tight fit. BATHROOM: Clean. Nothing crazy when I went there. I'm pretty sure you can use the bathroom too even if you don't buy anything. LOCATION: This place is in downtown Santa Ana, so there are a lot of shops for you to look around, eat at, or shop at if you go during the day. Very fun to eat tacos here and then go on a walk afterwards :)) TLDR: A very good taco spot to go eat if you want good tacos. They're open till 10pm weekdays and midnight on weekends as well. The salsas 1-5 (1) are not spicy and lack flavor It's not sitting outside but I'd rather eat inside. The Horchata Water can also use some work. 1-5 (2) This is just my taste buds talking we all have different taste buds, but this would not be my first choice for tacos.
