Grilled chicken tacos and al pastor tacos 2/10
    Erica M.

Came by and tried their grilled chicken and al pastor tacos. I also ordered carne asada super nachos. Let's begin with the tacos...the grilled chicken was bland and it had A LOT of chewy pieces. If it's one thing that I get grossed out about is too much chewy fat on any meat. The al pastor was okay, they did add a big piece of pineapple which is grilled and makes the taco decent. However, their carne asada super nachos were okay. They could have added more beans and melted the cheese to make them better. I will say their greens salsa is very good, it made the tacos edible. The guy that took our order was very nice but I don't think I'll be back.

On my way home and was feeling like Quesadilla de Asada. Thought to go to my usual spot down the street a little when this came into view. I parked next the tire shop stall and the cook hand signals me to park in the tire shop parking. I do to respect their business relationship. I only get the Asada quesadilla. Took all but 4 or 5 mins. Brought it home cuz there's no bench seating but I live super close. On first bite, I was super pleased! The tortilla was grilled perfectly. The Asada was perfectly seasoned, fresh and juicy. The proportion of meat to cheese was great. Not a cheese fest. There was this wonderful sauce accompanied with peppers and a liberal helping of cilantro and white onion that elevated the simple dish. I love cilantro and onion and did not feel like they skimped out on the vegetables. I didn't try the hot sauce that came with it. But the spices within the quesadilla was good enough for me. I felt very satiated with what I got and would 100% come back to try more dishes!

Unique Mexican offerings: Tlacoyo, Tuna Tacos (Encebollados), Cactus Taco (Nopales), Suadero (thin sliced grilled beef). Was running another errand and noticed Hyderabadi Dum Biryani which I have bookmarked and almost slammed on my brakes when I saw a Taco Truck I never heard about. This is probably the closest one to where we live and SUPER excited to try some of their "rare" offerings I haven't seen before. Since this was an unplanned stop they were just opening or not quite opened yet, the Torta bread was still being sliced and I was bummed out the wait for the Tlacoyo was 25 minutes but they did let me order tacos. Too bad Rajbir had that bad experience, mine was all good. They were very polite and I had to wait only 5 minutes. Food went on the grill when I ordered and they charged me accurately for my order. The Suadero Tacos were fire, if you've never had the meat its thinly sliced grilled beef, kind of like the rolled up brisket you get at KBBQ. It has little crunchy bits and was very tender, loved this. Al Pastor you can see on the spit on the left side of the window, it was good, not the best ever but definitely tasty. Asada was also same, good. Would definitely come back. Street address is: 42000 Fremont blvd, in the parking lot of "Nor Cal Tires and Wheels" fremont.

One of the best taco trucks around this area. It's a bit pricey for their tacos $3.25/taco (Feb 2023) but the food here is really good. The meat is well seasoned. It comes with different sauces. I love that they have the spicy avocado sauce. They have limes, pico de gallo, and sides for your food.

Best Tortas I've ever tried. I got torta de asada with everything. The bread is soft with a slightly crispy outside. The meat has flavor. I added a little bit red salsa and that thang smacks. I'm pretty picky with salsa and in my opinion it's pretty up there in my rankings. The salsa is probably a 5/10 spicy level to people that are used to super spicy food. I also tried the lengua tacos. The texture of the lengua was really good cooked. I like a lot of cilantro and onion but if your not a big fan of those two then I would voice it. The green sauce is not spicy but still good. Thanks kikos

The Gonzalez regular burrito is the tastiest I've ever eaten in Fremont. It is likely the best burrito in Fremont. The tortilla prep is unique and is tasty, browned, and (buttery). The carne asada was fresh, perfectly spiced, tender, a generously portioned. The pinto beans were whole, not overly cooked, and added a nice layer of flavor and texture. Spanish rice was perfectly cooked, not mushy, not bland, not too much or too salty. The spice blend, fresh leafy bits, and crunchy onion bits, set this typical burrito apart from the rest I've tasted, ever. In totality, this burrito is a multilayered flavor and texture experience. I recommend. Well done Grill Los Gonzales! Caution, the roasted chilly are experienced high level chilly eaters only.

If it's a weekday and between 10 AM and 6 PM (call to check as they sometimes close early when they sell out), go to Amelia's and try the Amelia's Taco Dorado (crunchy taco shell in a soft taco tortilla with the works of meat, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and her own salsa). She also has regular street tacos and Tacos Supreme (comes with guac and sour cream). Hefty portions (she doesn't skimp on the guacamole or meat) and all of her prices are listed out. Best part? Call ahead to give your order to Juan and they'll have your order ready. We've ordered ahead while a few exits away on 880 and also at the start of the Dumbarton bridge. ============================== This has been on my radar since my colleague told me about the best tacos he'd ever had in the Bay Area including al pastor sliced off a trompo, but then Tacos Grill Los Gonzalez disappeared for a while from the Apex used car lot. They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.

It has a nice spot right along Niles Blvd near Niles Ice Cream. There is plenty of parking and street parking on adjacent blocks. Tacos start at $3.50 and regular burritos start at $13. Cash or Zelle only. I opted for the chicken burrito and it was very good! Nice ratio of rice, beans, and meat. The natural sauce in the burrito had a mild kick to it (may be on the spicier side for some) and you can add more salsa for extra spice. Service was quick and it wasn't busy on a Saturday afternoon. Coming from SoCal, I was content with the quality. A solid 4/5. Probably some of the better Mexican you'll find in this area. It looks like this place is only open during lunch and closes before dinner, which is not the most convenient.
